My computer shows several instances of xpsp2res.dll module in System 32.

My computer shows several instances of xpsp2res.dll module in System 32.  I found them using Norton Systemworks process Viewer.  They look identical.  Is it a kind of duplication should I eliminate?

I think that the Microsoft Support Engineer gives you just a bunch of things to try that neither explain the 'problem' or won't help you at all.

Depending on your installation, you can have several copies of xpsp2res.dll on your system and you should have one in your system32 folder, in the dllcache folder and perhaps many others (I'm 27) in the folder system32 on various issues under the MUI folder and different down there.  You can't have two files with the same name in the system32 folder.

The MUI folder means "MUI" and the file contains messages XP and icons and files contain specific language XP messages.

If you use the built in Windows search, you'll probably find a lot.  Each of them a click right, choose Properties and look at the Version and then the language.  If you are configured for English, the one in system32 should say English and others in the various MUI files will show another language in the properties/language (German, Russian, etc.).

You will also find that you can have dozens of file xpsp1res.dll (for Service Pack 1) and dozens of files for the Service Pack 3 xpsp3res.dll, you can even have a xpsp4res.dll file in your system32 folder (even if there is no SP4 yet).

Depends on your installation, which we know nothing since MS Answers is no problem for any information system when a new question is asked.

I really don't see how Microsoft Support engineer 'tips' to run Disk Cleanup or the Microsoft Safety Scanner will help you at all.  It isn't even a good guess, but it has links to the KB articles.

If you think that your system may be compromised by malicious software, I could do this:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

  • Generate a rule to show several instances of entity attributes

    Hey!

Phil (the still waiting for beginner training here). I have a little trouble getting the aliasing to work when I want to perform a check on the same entity non-singleton.

I have a scenario set up when an entity of non-singleton attribute 5 (let's call it 'the child') will generate a maximum of 10 times (source of data-> muiltiple Oracle dbs).

I need to generate a rule (or rules) to report a failure when the no. recovered children is > 10 AND to display each attribute of the up of 10 entities "the child."

so far I have generated the following:

the BusRule (limiting the number of children) works correctly if
    the number of X_children < 11

the number of X_children = InstanceCount (text value of relationship "the child")

SO at this point I have a check for the number of instances of 'the child' entity and one indicator if there is > 10 entity instances (so I'm halfway there!)
I played with the following to try to display each of the attributes of each of the children (up to 10) that are returned (below is the first example, I tried with the child.firstname attribute)

Display of up to 10 X_children attributes works if
ForAllScope (text value for the "child" link, children)
    and
first name of the MCH is known * the number of X_children

HOWEVER - I get the HTTP 500 error (stack trace indicates the modules failed to load cos ' Subpremise to quantify local must be Boolean "). I kindof get the bulk of the error response, but do not understand why he thinks that it is Boolean.

All I need essentially to know is 1. How to view each of the attributes for each instance of the entity and 2. What I'm doing wrong.

As in my previous post, I feel that I should apologize because I'm not sure if I provide enough information or even good info for anyone to understand what I'm talking about because I have yet to attend training (I only used the tool for the last 2 days) and so I'm limited to trawl through the help files , so I appreciate any help/advice anyone can provide!

    NB: I'm using OPM v10.1

    See you soon,.

I have not read all the details here, but for purposes of validation, error or warning events are another option to consider.

ForAll requires you to put your condition in the same line (the condition is generally defined as a rule by the way).

ForAllScope allows you to continue your rule to put conditions on the following (indented) lines of the rules. If you want to disambiguate on a reference to the same entity in the bottom of your rule conditions, ForAllScope allows you also to alias of this entity in the lower part of the rules to another name. For example, this allows you to talk about "brothers and sisters" as part of one of the kids 'parents.

I've just set up my WRTU54G-TM for wireless access. By linksys recommendations, I've changed the SSID, disabled the SSID broadcast and enabled MAC filtering. I joined the MAC address of my lapop Vista Home Premium. I am able to connect very well, but there seems to be several instances of my network. First of all there is "unnamed network", which I assume is mine I put not broadcasting my SSID. However, when I connect to my network "no name" 3 other networks appear showing my SSID ex. Bob Bob, Bob 2, 2 3. Is this normal? Are all of the different networks protected by the same?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Do not turn off the broadcast of the SSID that you have enabled filtering MAC, no wireless computer couldn't connect unless you enter the MAC address of the computer on MAC filtering wireless... I guess that you won't get many instances of your SSID after you enable the SSID broadcast... Also, I would recommnd allows you to change the SSID... Check if it works for you...

  • 4 different instances of nv4_disp.dll?

Hi, since a few weeks I keep getting several messages on blue screen regularly when I end up playing stuff. The most common error message has been about nv4_disp.dll (although I have also recently received an error message about memory management, think about it if you want), so I searched for a solution.

I seem to be on the path to get there when I found a post here in these forums on a guy with similar problems, except that he had four different instances of nv4_disp.dll. A research of system gave upward the same result as his own, even though I have locations and sizes slightly different files:

    \System32 contains a 6248 KB file,

    \ServicePackFiles\i386 contains a file 4175 KB,

    \SYSTEM32\ReinstallBackups\0008\DriverFiles contains a file of 5917 KB

    and \SYSTEM32\ReinstallBackups\0025\DriverFiles contains a 6195 k file.

Could someone perhaps explain to me what it is all about offering me a solution? It would be highly appreciated.

  • Computer shows it's connected, but unable to connect to the Internet

Original title: also connected but unable to connect

I have a HP Pavilion a1710n 64 Dual Core Processor running Windows Vista Home Premium.

The computer shows that I am connected to the internet, but I can't connect to IE or firefox.

My Internet Protocol Version4(TCP/IPv4) properties shows that the two buttons marked for obtain an IP address automatically as well as the use the following DNS server address.

My network card is NVIDIA 10/100/1000 Mbit / s, and the computer shows that it works correctly. I tried to do a back roller and re - put to date but still the two marked buttons.

    Large number of background information...

I was trying to understand why the windows installer did not work on my son's account. I went in systems and changed to start and automatic manual. Rebooted PC and the firewall do not come. Tried to do a restore, but failed and lost all my restore points.

At this point, I lost my internet connection to know after vainly trying to figure out the problem I contacted an ATT(my internet server) of things ATT me had to do was change the properties to get the use of a DNS server address automatically and had typing me the address. After reviewing the many things ATT concluded there was not a problem with my connection and the PC is configured correctly and suggested that I should speak to technical support and of course, it was not free.

Tech support determined there was something that crashes me to connect to the internet and had run me malwarebytes. He detected 24 traces of adware and 2 traces of a virus in the registry database. I deleted everything and still no connection to the internet. Next Tech had me run Combofix and says everything should run fine after that. Still no connection to know Tech # 3 had executed me guests of orders with ping commands. Finally, he had me check the auto config button and that's where I discovered the two buttons were lit. Tech said "can't be." Well it is. That's when I tried to roll back the driver, but no luck so tech says only option is to restore the whole system.

GRRRR... After several internet searches that I'm about to do except nothings saved and whenever I try to use my backup and restore fails.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm still fairly new to PCs so please be patient with me. Laughing out loud

I know that my options have been counted, I was able to save what was important and made a full system recovery. I am happy to say that I'm back on the internet.

Thank you very much for your help and support. I learned a lot on my computer, as well in location wonderful are the microsoft forums :)

  • Running several instances of Win7

Hello, this is my first post in this forum.

I tried to do some research to make sure that I'm not something that has already been answered, but that have not yet found.

I would use vSphere Hypervisor (free product) on a single server and run several instances/images of Win7, so that I could use it in the classroom. My hope is that by doing this I need only to maintain an image and keep up-to-date.

My plan is to create an image, and then allow clients to connect to the server via RDP and start a Win7 desktop computer using this image. I also need to have Office 2010 installed on this desktop is going to be where my teaching is centered.

    My questions are:

    1. This product will make?
    2. How to create the image of Win7?
    3. How licensing issues are handled so that I can legitimately run up to 5 copies of this Win7 desktop computer?
    4. Any other suggestions or thoughts that I have to consider?

    Thanks in advance.

    Russ Kauk

If you are willing to accept a slight modification, it can do.

    (1) creating an image or

    (2) you create clones of n of this image and start them

    (3) users connect via IP/hostname to each individual workstation.

If you need to automatically configured virtual machines and management, then you have to accelerate the non-free hypervisor, vCenter and VMware View.

Regarding the issuance of permits - you will need licenses for Windows "n", likely.

  • ImportREDServer.exe runs several Instances

When I run the CS5 first it starts 8 instances of ImportREDServer.exe (see attached). Is this normal? Also, when I open my project (1200 + R3D clips), it loads a few hundred then hangs (not responding) for 30 to 60 seconds, then charge a few hundred more and so on. I don't know if they are related. However, when I open the version CS4 project in CS4, it loads a lot faster and smoother. Any thoughts?

Yes, it is normal that several instances of ImporterREDServer to start - up to one by heart of processor.

You have a fairly small amount of RAM for a computer equipped with eight processors. If there are multiple instances of the RED importer running to load hundreds of clips RED, it will take some time, especially if these authorities are fighting for a small amount of RAM. Whenever the software fight more RAM, you experience delays, especially if the contents of the RAM, eventually exchanging hard disk.

I have 24GO of RAM in my computer at home with the same number of processor cores you have. It's a big positive difference.

I am trying to download pictures from a card compact flash player map, but every time my computer shows i/o device error. What does that mean?

    Hi Richard,

    1. what version of Windows you are using on the computer?

    2. have you checked if the problem persists in a different USB port and in another computer?

3 - is the card compact flash not detected in Device Manager?

A Secure Digital or SD memory card is a device of small portable storage usually used on a digital camera or camcorder, cell phone, or computer system. When you use the card, you may sometimes experience an IO error. The term "i/o" is refers to an input/output error and may involve the SD itself card or the card reader you are using.

    Try these methods:

Method 1: Try to run the hardware troubleshooter and check what the problem is and fix it accordingly.

Follow the link below a convenience store opened.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter

    Method 2:

Eject the SD card in the card reader and check the writing on the side protection tab. This tab should be in the up position; otherwise, you will not be able to save all data on the card. Also check the connection between the computer and the SD card reader. If the card reader is not properly connected to the computer, you will receive error messages when you try to use the SD card or your computer does not recognize the card.

I got a call from a woman who told me she was from microsoft and my computer shows signs of malware, then let him check my computer remotely, he appeared on my screen that I had 39000 flaws and they would now clear them for free, then, she told me that I need an internet security shield to stop what is happening again at a cost of £189.00 a one-time payment. I told him I didn't have the money and after some time, she put a guy on the line to convince me that I should buy this article, I told him I wasn't happy to transfer money to a stranger and I thought it was a scam and hung up. I noticed that they had installed a program called Advanced SystemCare3, which I've uninstalled it. Now, I'm worried that they can hack into my computer and find the personal information.

    Is this possible?

    It is a scam. See:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/security/online-privacy/msname.aspx .

If they have access to your PC, they can install any number of malicious programs, as well as you have uninstalled. My recommendation is to do a clean reinstall of Windows - it's the only way to be sure that your system is clean.

All the data on your computer (passwords, credit card numbers, numbers of account documents, etc.) may have been compromised (they may not know now). According to the companies concerned (for example your bank) what happened.

Use another PC to change passwords.

    Consider telling your local police.

Microsoft will never call you unless you request them.
