  • all sudden yesterday afternoon my computer slowed down like a snail.

yesterday computer suddenly slowed down and couldn't do anything.  I had a quick scan it showed nothing wrong, so I have the disc cleaner and last night

I've done a disk defrag it is better this morning, but not back to normal.  At least I could get on IE

    Hi Beverly,.

Try a system restore BEFORE it starts and see if that returns things to normal and eliminates the problem. If the first attempt fails, try again using a restore point earlier. If you use Windows 7, see:http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html. If you are using Vista, see:http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/. If you are using XP, see:http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial56.html.

If this does not work, we will check your system and hard disk for corruption files and test your hard disk and RAM to make sure they work properly.  Follow these steps:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run. It will scan and try to correct some of your system files. If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228).

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run. They tried to set itself to run at the next reboot. Answer Yes and restart to run the program. It will scan and attempt to resolve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a potential cause.

To test your hard drive, try HD diagnosis (http://www.carrona.org/hddiag.html) or this test: hard drive diagnostics tools and utilities (storage) - Corp of TACKtech (http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287).  If it fails the test, replace it.  If she passes the test, then it's probably nothing wrong with it.

You can also test your RAM to http://www.memtest.org/.  Here are the additional instructions that can help: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html.  If it fails, test each piece individually to find those who are bad and replace.  If it passes, the RAM is probably OK.

If the above does not help identify or resolve the problem (including the verification of previously suggested by the Cyber malware), then post back with the results of what you have tried and as much detail as you can provide (such as your version of Windows and other information on your system) and we will deepen the problem to find the cause and a solution and so that I could provide some of these alternatives and the procedures now, I don't want to overwhelm you with options at this stage (and these results could help refine what to try).

    Good luck!

  • Why my computer slows down

09 August to the a few weeks ago, I had a modem for internet on my computer. As we know, dialup is very slow. But a few weeks ago I had my digital internet on and things have accelerated. But I'm having a problem with some Web pages. It seems that whenever I try to open more than 1 page, or I come to a page that has a lot of objects in motion on it, everything slows to a crawl. I used to now have this problem when I had internet faster before. I downloaded the latest versions of Adobe Flash player, shockwave last, more recent readers Real and Quicktime, and yet my computer slows down. I need to update any other thing or what? Or I did my updates get corrupted when I had access to remote and if yes, how to say? Thank you

    Hi miles,

I want to start by saying that all the options of the Internet high speed are not equal. You could see the right speed for the connection you have.

But... There are a few things we can look at to make sure that your system runs as quickly as possible. Your system seems to work "eye catching" or "flange" in its use of local emissions? :-)

Let start by resetting IE to default values and to see where we are.

Close IE, print or copy these suggestions...
Click on START and type > Internet options > press enter
On the general tab, click on delete... > default options should be good for this. Click on delete.
When you are finished, click the Advanced tab. Under reset Internet Explorer settings section, press the Reset... button.
In the tab programs, click on Manage Add-ons
Disable toolbars like MSN or Google. Toolbars are known to cause problems.

Launch IE and give it a go and let us know what happens. Mark <> Microsoft Partner

  • When doing a full backup computer falls down and must be closed

    Hello

When doing a full backup of the computer falls down and must be closed using the power switch, it is very good when you make a partial backup.
I'm trying to backup to an external hard drive via a usb connection.

The hard drive is formatted in NTFS
    Someone has any ideas
    Fred

    Hello

I will try to resume that you issue.
The HARD disk has several partitions (I guess 2 partitions)
The backup procedure works fine if you safe data only from single partition, but it crashes if you try to create a backup of all partitions of set. Am I wrong?

My first question; What backup utility do you use?
Are you sure that this backup tool supports the backup of the two partitions at the same time?

I put t know if it will help but a similar problem happened to me.
I've used Norton ghost and I wasn't able to create a backup of a partition.

The procedure began, but after several minutes, the screen goes white and the notebook frisottés.
I ran the scandisk, chkdsk and I defragment the whole HARD drive.

    This helped!

  • iCloud photo library stuck in an interminable loading which slows down and stops my entire network.

Last month I've upgraded successfully to El Capitan. Since then, after choosing to automatically download and store my entire library to the cloud, the download process caused a lot of problems. First of all, I had to leave the laptop on day and night and connected to the internet to complete the download. He has almost completely downloaded (with several modem restarts because the massive data download accidents caused connectivity) but then I had a planned trip and had to shut down the process. I tried to start again when I arrived at my destination, but it seemed to have started the process everything again (see below where the progress bar is at the very beginning again when previously, it was almost completely to the end) and close network of my poor host several times AND he ate all my CPU activity slow down and even stop any other activity of the laptop. Finally, I had to leave the process altogether for the rest of my visit. In fact, I had to disable wifi on my laptop because the process continued in the background even when I got the Photos app off the power. When I returned home, I studied the problem and learned how to fix the library by pressing the command and Option keys when I turned on the photo program. Once, the process started all over again and this time, he showed an any number of items to download (there was less than 25 000 points before this download now it shows more than 26,000).

Finally, I got it at the Apple Genius Bar, in the hope of a quick solution. He, even, fixed the library as well as a few other permissions by using Apple's Diagnostics. Everything seems to be working again, but the process had to start all over again for some reason any and he told me to connect the laptop to the modem via a cable and left running overnight until the process completed. I did it. The first night, I was happy. It seemed that 25% of the process had already been completed. At this rate, it wouldn't take another 4 days. He told me that when he gets in, he would never to do it again. HOWEVER, after the second night of leaving it night directly connected to the modem, I checked it this morning and it seems to have started all OVER AGAIN FROM THE BEGINNING! Still, he hangs up my entire network. I can't watch the Apple TV, or use my iPad for work or my iPhone to access and other plans. Currently, there seems to be a nightmare without end of download and spoil my network (and notice that there are now more 28 000 points).

This is intolerable. I can't live in this endless loop of photos download crashing my network and slow down my programs. I understand that this is not a problem isolated to me. So, did anyone found one simple solution other than its use onedrive or flickr or another synchronization photo program?

28 000 pictures takes a lot of time - it took me ten days to 7000 and whenever you try to 'fix' it do you it longer - I stopped mine during the day when I was home so it wouldn't screw up my internet access form other devices, defined the Mac not to go to sleep and turn anytime I don't have internet

Basically, your choices are to turn it off and not use ICPL or use it and let him complete without constant interference and restart the process

Once he finished he initial transfer it stays out of the way, even with large updates (I added more than 10,000 photos since my initial download)

  • starts to slow down and there is a delay of approximately 15 seconds or more before he realized my statement through my mouse

I have laptop with system 'vista basic' which works fine most of the time, but after that, I was on it for maybe 10 minutes, that it starts to slow down and there is a delay of 15 seconds or more before he realized my statement through my mouse. I ran "defender", indicating no problem.

I am not a very experienced operator and am reluctant to perform the instructions given by the guides, etc., in which case I have to delete the files, etc. If some can help me in the simplest of terms to help me with my problem?

    Hello pinkyxc,

Thanks for the return of the response.  I think first to plug in a USB mouse and see if you are able to reproduce this problem.  Did you go to the manufacturer website and download the drivers for your mouse lates?

If your laptop has built in the diagnosis provided by the manufacturer test?  You get all the errors when this happens?

In addition, you may attempt to perform a restore of the system to a point prior to the installation of IE 9 and see if this corrects the problem.
