When doing a full backup computer falls down and must be closed

Hello

When doing a full backup of the computer falls down and must be closed using the power switch, it is very good when you make a partial backup.
I'm trying to backup to an external hard drive via a usb connection.

The hard drive is formatted in NTFS
Someone has any ideas
Fred

Hello

I will try to resume that you issue.
The HARD disk has several partitions (I guess 2 partitions)
The backup procedure works fine if you safe data only from single partition, but it crashes if you try to create a backup of all partitions of set. Am I wrong?

My first question; What backup utility do you use?
Are you sure that this backup tool supports the backup of the two partitions at the same time?

I put t know if it will help but a similar problem happened to me.
I've used Norton ghost and I wasn't able to create a backup of a partition.

The procedure began, but after several minutes, the screen goes white and the notebook frisottés.
I ran the scandisk, chkdsk and I defragment the whole HARD drive.

This helped!

disconnect any external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) readers, etc...) Except the keyboard and mouse and then start. A test to see if the problem persists

If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue. Then get any drivers\software update for the device.

  • Windows 8 falls down and reboots with error of guard dog.

Same story, I bought a new laptop, everything works fine, but this error occurs frequently. Sometimes it just freezes and does not load even the BSOD. I looked on the internet, so I guess I need to download the minidump files. They are here.

    http://sdrv.Ms/1dgCZBT
    Help me, please?

    Hi Varun,

Thanks for providing the dump files. There are several reasons why you have BSOD on the computer. Mainly due to the / / HAL.dll, ntoskrnl and file apfiltr.sys.

First of all, I wish that you update all drivers installed on the computer. Mainly the chipset drivers, then drivers touchpad. Visit the computer manufacturer website and download the drivers and save it to the desktop.

-Once the drivers are saved on the desktop, press the Windows key + X , then Device Manager.

-Explore the mouse and pointing device, right click on the touchpad driver and click Uninstall.

-In the charms of the Search , type uninstall a program. Locate the touchpad (Alps touchpad driver) software and uninstall.

-Restart the computer and install the drivers from the Chipset, then drivers touchpad.

You can perform the SFC scan on the computer to resolve the error HAL.dll.

-On the charms of the search, type command prompt, right-click on command prompt and select run as administrator.

    -Type sfc/scannow and press ENTER.

    -Restart the computer.

Also perform Check Disk to check if there are bad sectors on the hard disk.

-In the command prompt, type chkdsk /f and press to enter.

-Press Y, and then restart the computer so that the disc check occurs at the next reboot.

Important: When running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

Hope this information is useful. If you have any questions, please let us know.

    Hello

Chances are the hard drive failed, but it could be wiring or other materials.

Check with the system manufacturer's support, their documentation online and ask in their forums
(if any). Most have instructions to replace the hard drive.

You can usually buy a hard drive for alternatives for less than $100,00 and maybe much less. Or the other
get the same one or the same size.  System manufacturers usually several models if you
the same can buy cheaper. And there will be others who are of the same size and type which
can be used. Your local computer store can help select an appropriate player.

Here is an example of how to replace the hard drive on some HP computers for example. Most
other manufacturers are similar, and there are many generic examples on the internet.
