  I had the same problem you had with not be able to update Malwarebytes. I would like to run rkill, run Malwarebytes, and then reboot and repair Windows would jump to the top. Also, I have downloaded and run CCleaner which has removed registry now dead keys associated with the repair of Windows virus in the registry.

I know that the hard drive is good because I have another old machine windows 2000 can I put the hard drive in and it will read and write from the hard drive. Problem is you can't see half of the car becase the formatting of the file is different. a majority of the data I want to save the hard drive is on the side, that I don't see in the old machine.

  first put your hard drive of the computer that you have questions with in the computer that works well. delete or move data from the old hard drive to the other disk to free up space make sure you have about 5 GB minimum FREE on the old hard drive. Also run a virus scan and spyware on this hard drive. Then try to start the player of ard again and see if you can return to windows.
