  • Equium M40 - cursor usually frozen - Touchpad very erratic

My cursor seems to freeze when the laptop is turned on for awhile (heat?) and then suddenly works again after days and days of frost. Have reinstalled the drivers (which worked for 24 hours), sent to Toshiba last week who has reinstalled everything and it worked again for 24 hours only, has been slain for worked days and now it suddenly after all the frozen screen and he would answer no to the keyboard either so I had to turn off at the power button but I have done this before and it didn't work before - WITHOUT RHYME or REASON. This is a brand new machine. WHAT CAN I DO? It makes me mental.

    Hey richie

It's not easy to say what exactly is the problem. Maybe your unit switches to hot?
It is also very important, that this laptop should be free of any objects that can cover the ventilation openings. There should be place around the unit so he cans "breath". Sometimes can help to update BIOS. You can also change the performance of the processor and method of cooling of the unit in Toshiba power saver utility.
    Maybe it helps.

  • the mouse cursor is frozen

I say - and re - served optical mouse, cpu reset. but still, the cursor does not. are there keyboard shortcuts to get past the screen of welcome and in Start menu? Or maybe the mouse needs to be replaced?

Did you replace the batteries in the mouse or try to connect to a different mouse altogether? If this is not the case, do. If battery replacement always how it works does not correctly, the mouse may be faulty or went wrong. Happening from time to time, and then it must be replaced.

    Hi navvar,

Thanks for posting of Windows 7 community.

I suggest to start the system in safe mode and check if the problem still persists.

Also download the current drivers and update the firmware of your mouse.

Step 1: Perform a clean boot

Note If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.

    a. log in the computer using an account with administrator rights.

    b. click on start to reduce this includes this ima, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.

    c. collapse this includes this ima if you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click continue .

On the general tab, click Selective startup , and then clear the Load Startup items check box. (The box use the Boot file is not available.)

    d. on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft services check box and then click on disable all .

Note Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

    e. click OK , and then click restart .

    Hello

    Try the following.

Start the computer in Safe Mode, open windows control panel, open programs and features, right click on the entry "Synaptics Pointing Device Driver" and select uninstall.

Once this done, reboot the laptop and let Windows load normally.

If the touchpad works now, download and reinstall the Synaptics driver on the following link.

  • Cursor does not respond in the game

I have Windows 7 build 7100 installed on my new PC. I installed 6 games, 2 the job very well and 4 are not. The problem with those who do not is that after installation, when you go into the menu of the main load, the cursor is frozen in one place, but the action still works even if you do not see where it is pointed. I am able to Dual boot my pc between 7 X 64 / Vista X 64 / and XP X 86. When I load games on Vista and XP, they work very well. All the drivers are up to date and they are the same version on all platforms. So far the ATI bot and the game factory not help and saying: it is a problem of Windows 7. I do not think it likely that Windows 7 is going to publish a Service pack to fix a game. If the game maker will not release a patch, I thing the only solution is going to be running the game in XP Mode.
