'My computer' very slow to recognize all readers

When I click on "My Computer" I expect a few seconds a screen readers various associated to my computer, local and network.  For some reason, my computer is to take 2 minutes to create this screen.  If I save a document or a file in the list opens instantly.  I made a shortcut on the desktop to the network server drive and it works very quickly, but if I try to open a file with a simple click in the place it takes forever.  WinVista running on a HP desktop computer.  All of the suggestions.  I know I've probably changed a setting that is making this happen

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

    Hello

First of all I recommend to check the HARD disk for disk failure HARD errors that may affect the performance of the computer, you should check the HARD drive using freeware tools one of the tools that I use is the Drive Fitness Test he has been published several times here in the forum and its really great software.

If the HARD drive would be ok and if no error would be detected, then, I recommend disabling some processes that are not important for you in many cases different tools would be charged during the OS start process and these tools run in the background that slow down the operating system.
Run msconfig and check the Startup tab
Here you will see all the programs that are loaded at the beginning, you can uncheck the tools is not necessary

Note: If you are not sure what means the only process, use google and search in internet for more details otherwise don't disable this.

  • The process APPNOS and APPTS are devouring my RAM and make my computer very slow.

Hello, I have an iMac (late 2012) 2.7 Ghz intel core i5 with 8 GB of RAM. Lately, my computer has been extremely slow and almost unusable for the last 4 days. After repeatedly to close the market and stop, I finally could open the activity monitor after about 25 minutes of loading. I was shocked to see that the process APPNOS and APPTS consumed 13 GB of RAM each, with a total of 27 GB of RAM used even if my computer has only 8 GB of RAM. I left the two processes of strength and my computer still worked once, normal, but these processes continue to pour every time my computer sleeps. I hope that someone knows what these processes are and how they arise or eat more RAM that I stop.

  • Firefox becomes very slow with the all new Yahoo Mail

Problems with the all-new Yahoo! Mail version: everything worked very well, but since the two latest updates of Firefox I started to notice that Yahoo was consuming a lot of CPU (it varies from 35% to 40% and is on the top list of programs CPU consumption) and the browsing experience is not so pleasant - slow. If I quit Firefox and reopen it, becomes faster, but after about 30 min slow / high CPU consumption again. Then I had to go back to the classic version of Yahoo Mail and everything works fine and consumed less CPU. Did I live it? Is it a question of Yahoo Mail? Is there a solution? (Macbook Pro early 2011 / Mac OS X 10.7.4 / Firefox 12.0) Thank you!

Try to start Firefox in safe mode. This mode disables all extensions, customizations, hardware acceleration, etc., temporarily for the diagnosis and troubleshooting. If Firefox works fine in Safe Mode, then it is probably a problem with the add-on. Restart Firefox in normal mode, and then type "subject: addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions, restart Firefox between each one, until you find the troublemaker.

When you buy a new notebook, the first thing we do is to make a backup of recovery. It is very important. You should have backup image recovery.
If something goes wrong, you can use this media and reinstall the original recovery image.

Each new laptop is slow at the beginning. What you need is the optimization of the OS. Remove all the unnecessary stuff from the system and check the windows startup.

Many applications that you do not actually start with windows and start up takes a lot of time.

  • Very slow speeds - Workstation 8.0.2 suspend

I don't know if it something that I did, or the recent update of the workstation, but it is now still holding to suspend my (fairly large) guests. A guest of Vista is by far the most powerful, although a small enough guest of Windows 8 is also very slow.

All my guests are split into 2 GB sizes and all have recently been "shrunk"---(erreur?). All are run under a Windows 7 host.

Does anyone have advice to try to improve performance short dating back to 7 Workstation?

    > All what you have tried so far work?
    Hi Dave
I had the same problems with suspend time WS 8 and 9.
The only thing that has really worked to change my habbit use suspend rather than turned off when done with a virtual machine.

With 9 WS, I expected that suspend one of my typical virtual machines may mean that the host can (often) to do nothing other than just suspension than a VM for a time up to 30 minutes or even an hour complete (often enough to see!)
I tried everything I could think off, but nothing is really - I have never used WS so rarely that this version 9.

I run 10 now and downtime are close to what we were used with 6.5 or 7

If these problems seem to be fixed in WS 10 - at least for me.

    Hello

Proceed as follows to contribute to these two questions. You can probably buy the disks of Vista machine to system or get
the former employer to do it for you if necessary.

Try these and it can also be a good idea to update your main drivers later. The General corruption can also play a
role in this issue. And even the TCP/IP stack might need to be refreshed.

  • Why all this very slow loading on my computer lately?

When I click on a program to open it, it is very slow to open an it.when I am online, sometimes it just freezes

    Hi dls4u2c,

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. You receive an error message on the computer?
    3. You have security software installed on the computer?
    4. When was the last time it was working fine?

    Method 1

Check if the problem persists in the safe mode and after back with the results.

A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222

    Method 2

If the problem does not persist in safe mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Set of utilities to test for computer HARDWARE manufacturers:

Note: If you are OverClocking or use an automatic overclocking or BIOS features, energy saving
Start by disabling: Intel EIST, Turbo Mode, Cool and pretty
and fall at the speed of stock as a starting point.

Disconnect the other internal hard drives and external USB devices.
Look for any loose hard drive power or cables SATA, graphics card or other power cables.

    CPU ID (CPUZ): http://www.CPUID.com/cpuz.php
Watch the clock speed of the CPU under various conditions of loading
(when using speed step technology Intel EIST).
    #1 Note:
CPU - ID has two tabs (memory and SPD) that indicates the actual speed of the memory and 'SPD' tab displays the nominal speeds
for each memory location is full.
    #2 Note:
COMPARE the two values, the actual speed should not exceed the rated speed of your memory.

Prime95: Displays your actual speed of the processor when using CPU ID under a heavy load.

It's a stand alone .exe file contained in an archive .zip.
Simply choose to run the 'stress test' option for 3 hours or more.
If your PC can pass this test, your memory and CPU
are very good (close the housing cover in order to maintain adequate ventilation)

    Core Temp:
The temperature of each core of the processor.
Note: For the overclockers using stock radiator and cooling fan Intel/AMD, you can expect a temperature range of
    35 to 40 ° C at idle and 60-65 c max when running Prime95.
