  Sorry, you have problems.

  For any future reference. Those of us who mess directly with: config soon find out how to get errors and it is wise to backup. Occasionally backup of your entire profile for example can be useful and would probably give you a quick solution of the copy on the file from the backup.

  OK on the topic to try to get Firefox back as it was:
  Find your profile and the prefs.js file and rename that. (The renamed file is a potentially useful backup.) Firefox is then forced to regenerate the file and will reset your default preferences. You can then re open and use Firefox. Then, try to return to normal.

  Try to manually change the file prefs.js is normally a bad idea. However, if this is a one-time change prefs it would be possible to directly edit the prefs.js file (while Firefox is closed) to get everything back to how it was before. You have the file renamed to work with. Probably best to test this in a new additional profile so only break you test additional essential Firefox profiles profiles works do not.

  My daughter had XP IE8 running on his computer, site update Windows XP SP3 download.  I downloaded and installed, however it won't start in safe mode. When I remove SP3, the computer loads normally.  I then uninstalled IE8 (went back to IE6), made sure I had the pre-requistes, followed the steps as outline on the microsoft site, downloaded SP3 again and installed.  It will only re-start in safe mode.  I tried everything, no matter what I do, XP SP3 causes the computer to restart in safe mode only. I'm totally frustrated. Can someone help me?

  card, to help work with instructors who turn to the portrait

  If this is not for my personal system, but a colleague. Our company force installation of some software updates, and he had a forced installation arrives for a Firefox version 38 ESR.   Hello, I have a MacbookPro, that all of a sudden will not start. I believe that the problem - from what I've read-, is that memory is simply too fulll. I tried to start in Safe Mode, but of course it doen't work. The screen displays a small bar as it loads, but after a while goes back to the same blank screen and nothing happens. I tried waiting half an hour, but nothing changes. I have not tried to launch utility disk in Recovey Mode because I'm afraid of what will happen to my files. Unfortunately, I unwisely postponed to back up files and now I'm afraid to do anything that my fry them all without me even realizing it. Can you offer any solution that is as safe as possible?  I don't have a cable Thunderbolt.
