My CPU is overheating?

I have a HP Pavilion g6 with AMD APU A10 - 4600M. Since one of my previous laptops is dead after 2-3 years due to the overheating, I was check Core Temp on my new laptop computer. Well, it says 100 TJMax and time light more than 90 on the more demanding games (50-56 when idle). It has been like that since the day wherever I got it. So what I need to know:

1 are these safe time or they will eventually fry the CPU?

2 is it possible the readings are inaccurate?

3. If temperatures are too high, how much time it take for damage to components? If I limit game sessions to one hour at a time, which will help prevent it?

100 c is the type of the line of death, but 90 is also high. Idling 50-56 is safe, but also a bit above optimum. Take care to blow out the fan in the air compressed solid now the blades with a paper clip while folded-out if you do not smoke the bearings of the fan. Keep back the laptop high and on a cool flat surface. A marble plaque would be ideal but scary. Consider investing in a portable cooler. And Yes, the shortest time in which you expose the system to paralyze the heat the less damage you will do, so it's a good idea to limit the time of game (for a lot of reasons).

  • CPU is constantly overheating and freezing Satellite Pro A30

    Hi guys,.

It seems that my CPU is constantly overheating and freezing of the PC.
(is - what happens when a CPU is overheating?)
    Fans are turn eratically.
The radiator seems warm enough but still palpable - even if it's just.

As a trial, I would change my CPU clocked at 2.6 Ghz for
a slower, cooler to see if it solves the problem.
Can I just swap, or do I have to change something
to ensure the new processor running at slower speed?
Is there anyway I can say that the current of the processor to run
    at a slower speed?
(I can not even installed on windows
the PC hangs before the end)

    Thank you
    Ray.

As noted by James energy saver controls the speed of the CPU and cooling method.
You can change the settings and check if it will help.
But a question; How much time do you use this laptop or how old is?
Sometimes after long use, that dust and debris could have a bad influence on cooling and fan modules.
For the most part a cleaning cooling module would avoid overheating. But I would not recommend to clean the laptop yourself if you have no experience.
In my opinion a technician should do.

  • Satellite M40-285 - CPU overheating after the accident with water

    Hello everyone,

I have a Toshiba Satellite M40-285, and 2 days ago, my girlfriend dumped a cup of tea on the keyboard... The computer turns off after a few seconds. Immediately, I put the laptop upside down and disassembled parts. There was some liquid inside (especially inside the speakers under the keyboard and where is the DVD unit). Other parts (CPU, memory, wireless card, hard drive area) were completely dry. I have it with napkings and dry with a hair dryer (later I read that I shoud never use a hair dryer...).

The turs laptop on one seems to work fine (only the first screen where it says toshiba remains more than normal long (15 seconds or more) before entering windows). But the problem I have is that the CPU gets overheated and the laptop shuts down after 5-15 minits of use. I'm getting attention via the RightMark utility I said "* Core overheating * ' and the temperature always between 45 - 55 c

I replaced the thermalgrease but the problem remains. The CPU fan works (I think that the two speeds). The heatsink is very hot after the computer turns off (it burns my fingers if I touch)

What could be the problem? * Is the processor damaged? Can be a problem in the motherboard? *
I don't know what to don't know because is not woth the money to send it to the technical service, but I can't buy a new laptop now...

    Hey,.

I m wondering that the laptop is still ongoing and no more parts are damaged. In addition he s very cool that you could fix it yourself and dry. Many people don t know how ;)

In any case, if the CPU is overheating it seems that something on the assembly or the cooling fan is damaged and must be replaced. Possibly peut t fan run with the highest speed more, who knows.

Of course, it is difficult to say what is the cause of the problem, but in your case I would try ordering a new fan and the heatsink too. The two parties shouldn't t be expensive and it seems that you can replace yourself.
So just contact a service provider allowed in your country to order these parts. They can do this.

Good luck and feedback would be great, I am interested on this! :)

  • Satego P100-10U: CPU overheating all playing 3D games

    Hello!

I often play games like call of Duty4, Counter Stri * ke Source, FEAR Combat etc with my Toshiba laptop...
After a few minutes, the game, the CPU send a warning: CPU overheating!

With the right tool brand CPU my CPU temp. is greater than 95Celsius!
If I am not under my laptop a few CDs or books on the corners to make a place for cooling, the laptop crashed because the CPU is overheating...

This problem is only if Iplay 3D games.
If I'm working from write something 'normal' like surfing on Internet, watch pictures or listen to music, the temperature of the CPU. between 60 - 70Celsius...
What can I do? Service call?

    Thnx

    Hello

As you know this laptop was equipped with high-tech parts and devices that are really very powerful. During these games to 100% devices and produce a lot of heat. This is why it is very important to a cooling properly.

Please check if the cooling modules are free! I mean the dust and debris could prevent fans of good working condition and would have led to overheating.
In most cases the coolant cleaning module could help to prevent the overheating of laptop computer
To clean the fans, you might use a jet of compressed air that can be bought in various computer stores

    But I have a question;
Using the graphics driver from Toshiba?

Maybe you installed a 3rd party graphics driver which doesn t support protection against overheating! He should know that the original Toshiba graphics drivers are slightly modified. The GPU driver supports thermal protection which prevents the overheating GPU chip is very important and necessary, because portable computers, graphics cards do not have huge cooling modules like graphics cards for desktop PC!

Therefore, use of the 3rd party graphics driver could lead to overheating.
    Be aware of these facts.

    Best regards

  • Satellite A30, PC shutdown due to overheating of the CPU

My Satellite A30 has a new problem, the PC shuts down due to overheating.
Fans are set to Max Performance. The cooling fans are not blocked by dust.
I think that the CPU is overheating for some reason any.
Can someone explain what parameters can be modified to avoid this problem?
I also saw that the other Toshiba PC needed a BIOS upgrade, it will be necessary for the A30?

    Hello David

Your device is certainly full of dust and cannot be properly cooled. If I remember the unit has two vents on the lower part. The must be removed and cleaned properly.

Trust me on this machine, the dust is placed behind the fans and if you look they seems to be clean, but they are not. Contact the customer Service of your country partner. The cleaning procedure takes about 20-30 minutes. I can't imagine that it will be expensive.

    Good bye

  • Overheating on Satellite A300-05U

Had for 6 months now, cleaned out with dust and scratch but the CPU is fine. The CPU keeps overheating and the machine will stop automatically. This only happens when I am gaming, but now it begins past also under normal conditions. Downloaded speedfan to refine what the issue is, so I don't know about you, it's the processor. Don't know why it's happening if shortly after I had the machine...

Trying to avoid having to send it in cuz there all my work United to this topic, if anyone know of a quick fix for this?

Unfortunately, there is no miracle solution in this case. The only solution is to backup your data and give your machine to an authorized service partner, because they need to solve this very serious problem.

I don't underestimate this because in the worst case, your machine could get some really serious damage and I think you'd do anything to avoid this problem.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite Pro A40 - overheating message

My A40 has been left on a bed - air fan has been blocked. I have stripped and cleaned the fan and the heatsink, and reassembled. Now it works for a few minutes then the error message "The CPU is overheating stop please" is using XP Home.

I check the air inlet and the fan turns - hot air that comes out but not excessively hot. Is there a hardware reset to stop this message or permanent damage to be made?
If anyone can help please email me at: [email protected]. We do not have a Service Center in Mozambique

    Hello

When you put the CPU back you apply new thermal grease. If you do not, then it would cause the error.

  • Satellite L850 - 117 CPU temp 59% on idle

    Hello

I recently bought the L850. It worked very well without any problems.

However I started a day game and the game crashed after about 20 minutes and the laptop, said the CPU is overheating, it seemed rather strange because I was running this game before it was working fine, I noticed that the CPU temperature is always 50% even in idle state, the fan is always jumping from 50% to 100% (every 2-3 seconds) as well in idle state.

For some reason any, I think that it started after upgrading the BIOS to 1.60, but I may be wrong and the fan got dusted upward, however I've had this laptop for about 5 months and it's hard to believe that he has so much dust.

    Appreciate any help.

    Thanks in advance

It is possible that the new BIOS has changed the values in the BIOS and now the cooling fan works a little different than before.
Try to change the high performance power plan, close certain unnecessary processes running in the background and start the game just to see what will happen.

It's that you cannot return to the old version of the BIOS now. Toshiba page is latest BIOS only available on support. I can imagine, what you might get the old version of the Toshiba service provider in your country. Call and ask for help and good advice.

    What should do?

    Hi Suad Novic,

I put t understand why you think that your laptop is overheating. 60 ° C for a higher CPU usage is correct so don t be you worry about this!
If your laptop overheats, they freeze all of a sudden without any reason or immediately turn off the power.

But you can clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans.

  • Dell Precision T5500 CPU upgrade

I did research on it and since I am not so material informed computer I think I must ask. There the mobo of 0D883F with processor E5504 (x 2). I want to upgrade to the fastest and most possible souls. I considered buying an opportunity T5500 and swaping the processor (the cheapest option), but there are so many different processors in of T5500 used even if finding the mobo specs show that compatibility for the 5500 series cpu. Found a T5500 used with (x 2) of the X 5650 and six cores that would be great for my work in Maya and of multiple Assembly photo/video-3D work. This could be the best option, so I can swap the cpu to my system, but I'm not sure what he would actually need exchanged. The 6 processor is 95w TDP and E5504 80w. Anyone know if this is possible at all? and what I would need to swap? I don't even know if the mobo is the same as one used, but looks in the images. Can I run a TDP 95w cpu on my mobo which now has 80w CPUs? Thanks a bunch

Yeap, you can learn more about here (especially on the second page of comments. First page has more photos and other things): http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/t/19370823.aspx?pi21953=2

But the important thing is that the radiator main stock of aluminum is bad. Actually, it's a low-end model (according to Dell) and the radiator from the main processor performance is U016F part number. They are very easy to find on ebay (for $15). In any case, this fixed the overheating problem of mine with the dual cpu x 5650. I've actually put the 5675 x in my other T5500 and it still works a little warmer than the x 5650 but very manageable compared to with the heatsink in aluminium (number T021F). There is not much difference in the 2 cpu (both running 6 cores and 95watts) with the exception of the clock speed. In my tests with Maya, the difference in performance between the 2 is minimal. As for the difference in motherboards? I still have no idea. Dell could not even meet this other that the most recent jury having a "C2" little matter that is. We thought it would not change the cooling to the Board of Directors at all, so the main culprit was the primary heat sink. It is just difficult to track because things are not too logical (at least to me). System monitors, I used (3 of them) showed overheating cpu was #1 (which numbered #1 and #0) make me believe extension (secondary) cpu was overheating one. Dell Diagnostics was stressing cpu #0 and monitors showed the cpu #1 heating upward. I go crazy. Finally, I pulled the riser (effectively making it a computer single processor) and confirmed that the principal was a overheating. This main heater is the problem and you should definitely use the largest radiator of U016F (better) on the primary no matter what. The extension, there is no option to change what I can find. There was only one option, I think that for the T5500 T7500 both. If we wanted to move to the X 5680 (race 135watts), I think the two cpu overheats and would not be able to be cooled by the heat sinks in the system. But I would be wrong in this regard. I think x 5680 are the fastest cpu we could put in these systems (on these mobos anyway). I hope this helps.

  • Envy 15 t-ae100: light of 15 t-ae100 HP Envy toward the lower right corner of the keyboard

I just bought a new Envy 15 t-ae100. I see just off the sticker of Intel Core i7, it's a thin slot which has a cover on it. It is the form of a USB port, even if it is a big plus. So far, no light has never shown through it.

Exactly what is it? If I see a light, is this bad news? My CPU is overheating? Or is it nothing more than a fancy décor?

  • Qosmio X 770-116 - upgrade report

This threat is just to report to my completed updates to the model x 770-116 so he could help others.
first upgrade put an ssd in, la - 116 comes stock with only a hard drive which means he has only 1 HDD Bay works.
to make the upgrade, you will need to install part::zekhv8AC which can be hard to find in the European Union.

Then off I started to work on the problems of overheating, fist step was to replace the grease thermal horrible stock with artic mx-4 for the cpu and gpu, however, be very careful. This fat can cause problems in the ellectrical circuit when used too as was the cams with mine, I cleaned the gpu with alcohal transistors, after which he worked. This summer, I started to have pain when my room has reached 30 degrees Celsius, my cpu was overheating at about 90 c. When I last disassembled my laptop I noticed that the cpu of the cooler radiator was smaller then other models, so I bought a x 775 radiator that has a largest heatpipe and my time cpu has dropped to about 11 c. So this could be a solution for people with overheating ci5 model x770s.

Be very happy with the new show, I however noticed that the cpu load was almost constantly to 96% while playing GTA5, I did some research and found a reason why an upgrade of processor ci7 would work so I bought a second hand one for 70 - the core i7 2630QM. I disassembled once more the laptop and this time replaced the cpu using a large screwdriver and turning the * screws * thing on the socket 360 degrees to the left and back again after the seizure of the new processor. Increase in performance is very sensitive to what the fps limit is 60 times more and this time without the drops if well worth it.

I hope this might help someone always ready to increase his performance 770 x
    Parts list:

    CPU: ci5 2410 m--> ci7 2630Qm
    heater: K000126500
    SATA connector: K000126450

Thank you very much for this report detailed. Play well.

  • WANT to office: Question on new HP desktop computers

Hello world. I think to buy a new computer in the near future, if all goes well, to replace my outdated Windows Vista, and I was wondering...

I know this may seem like a stupid question, but as I am not the most tech savvy, I noticed that all new HP desktop computers have disk on the side players. I really wanted to get a computer when I put a CD or DVD in laterally rather than vertically, as you always do on most of the CD or DVD players. I'm worried that my drive could fall and on the floor, if I have to put in on the side.

I was wondering, I would be able to put my turn desire on the side on my desk, or something (or am I supposed to), I wouldn't put my disks in side?

    Shrevedude

Turning the case on the side, you have two issues with the option - air flow and direction of the HARD drive.

Regarding the first, when you rotate the case and lay on its side, one of two things will be real - the CPU fan will point upward (which is good) or the fan will be pointing down (which is BAD).  You need the fan up to evacuate hot air from the case.  IF it is pointing down, it could not exhause air properly, your CPU is overheating and the PC will fail.

Regarding the second, I know that the modern hard disks will work in virtually any orientation (i.e., vertical or lateral), but I don't know if it is safe to run inverted for long periods of time.  So, again, it is a question of orientation such as if carrying case on the reverse side the HARD drive, I wouldn't.

Regard to drop the CD/DVD drives, they usually something mounted to prevent this.

    Good luck
