    I made an image of my hard drive just after the installation of windows 7 and before to install the drivers of manufacturers and updates of windows.

    Today, I restored this image, reinstalled the drivers from manufacturers and made the updates of windows. The problem seems to have disappeared now.

    I am re-imaging my hard drive after you install the complete driver/updating. I hope I don't need to use it, but I will if I have to. I still don't know what caused it in the first place, but at least now I have an option of fast food if it happens again. I'll recreate the image on the hard drive after all major software install from that time, I have two images. • THE DESKTOP ICONS WON'T STAY WHERE I PUT THEM

    I tried to combine some icons on my desktop in the way that suits me, but I often find that they won't stay where I put them.

    Sometimes they simply will not sit when I try to put them (especially near the perimeter) and at other times, after that I did something else, when I go back on the desktop what they moved.

    Thanks for that.

    That was the problem.

    When I opened the menu as you have suggested, "align icons on the grid" has been selected.

    When I removed the tick that solved the problem.

    Thank you kindly.

    Hello

    I would check the first box for sure, the second is not as important but probably a good idea to choose from as well. Once you save it, it should not appear again.

  • computer won't stay asleep or put into hibernation

    I have recently reinstalled Windows 7 on a desktop computer.  I used to leave it on all the time but now I want it to go to sleep or put into hibernation after a few minutes (and stay that way until we want to use it).  I tried to sleep, hibernate and hybrid sleep.  It will turn off, but in a few minutes he returned upward by itself.  Sometimes it seems to scroll, and down every few minutes.

    I read that USB devices can cause this, but only the mouse and keyboard are attached via the USB port.  There are two internal hard drives.

    A thought-

    Check the network and sharing Center

    Some settings of the map change

    A click with the right button on your network adapter

    Select Properties

    Select Configure, then power management

    and make sure that allow this device to wake the computer is not checked?

  • Everytime I try and reorganize my favorites they won't stay where I put them!

    Everytime I try and reorganize my favorites (when I save one that is not at the end, more that it lies in the middle of the list) and another one of my friends got moved on accident, I can't make them stay in place. I used to be able to just click on bookmarks, and then drag the bookmark around where I wanted to and he stayed, or open organize and settle there, but neither allows places to stay! This is driving me crazy. Help! There must be a way to move the bookmark where I want in the list!

    after organizing bookmarks they later get converted

    Make sure that you are not in private browsing.

    You can rearrange the bookmarks in the bookmarks menu, the bookmarks bar and bookmarks-not sorted. You can rearrange the folders in the s in the library list, but not bookmark in the columns - sorting the columns is temporary.

    I find the best arrangement is alphabetical for all my bookmarks and use of the "SortPlaces: extension to sort by alphabetical order of their." I will not allow the bookmarks toolbar to sort when I ask extensions to sort my favorites, but I have 3 bookmark separators to break up into groups. A group is sorted within the group, but stay in the group separator. See the following article...

    I'm hosting my "Unsorted Bookmarks" sort, but I throw in bookmark separators down sometimes so if I set some people more late bookmarks into folders in my menu "bookmarks", I can find more added at about the same time to also move into the fold identical or related.

    If you don't think that the above applies to you, you're not sorting or synchronization of bookmarks, then make a clear change in say your bookmarks bar, then restart Firefox to see if the change is still there.

    If your change back to what you had before the change, check the timestamp date update on your places.sqlite file, if it is not running, then the file is not being updated can you can see another copy of the file named places.sqlite.corrupt which can be the one you need (check dates). Delete/rename then rebuild your places.sqlite will result in the loss of the story and you want to try all other means to solve your problem and making sure that you really have a problem before you destroy your data in the history.

    Minimize the problems of prevention: always close Firefox correctly with file > exit or the red/orange "Firefox" button then exit (not with the 'X' top-right that is close this window). Always back up your Firefox profile and all the personal data.

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
  • Windows7 task bar icons won't stay where I put them
    I spent hours carefully "pin" some 20 shortcuts to the Win 7 taskbar. When I removed some UI features, ALL icons have been deleted without warning.
    Then, I collected all the icons, this time putting them in a folder and put the folder in the to-do bar. So far Windows did not remove the folder or icons.
    But. After carefully put the icons in alphabetical order, all the hours or the icons are in a different order. There is no sorting feature for the icons in the taskbar (Windows 7 seems to have lost MANY useful features). The underlying folder is sorted by file name, but the taskbar seems not aware of my stated preference.
    What is happening, and how can I convince Win 7 I really know where I want the icons and ask them left in place?
    I know I can "lock" the taskbar, but I've never had to do before.
    Thanks for any idea you may have.
    Jon
    For years, Windows has had a feature where he puts most recently used icons at the top of the lists, or even remove items that have not been used for some time.  Since I was oriented "positional", this "feature" always totally threw me.  I want to know that a specific icon is always '(deuxieme from the left.  So, I disabled it in every Microsoft program that I've met, including Windows.
    I think that my turn this off in Windows 7 has prevented Windows to constantly rearrange my icons.  I would have spotted it earlier, but the shifts that took place were NOT correct implementation of most recently used icons on one end or the other of the list.  In fact, the transpositions appeared more arbitrary than thoughtful.
    If someone of another unwanted meeting moving icons of Windows 7, you can try to disable this feature.  Honestly, I don't know what is the name of the feature. Or I don't like.  This "feature" has lost a lot of my time.
  • Why have I not lack of photos in the collections. How can I sort this. It's so boring after a number of collections to find a lot of missing pictures when you turn on the computer again.
    Why do I get "missing photos" in the collections of bridge. and how to use them.   so boring after the construction of a few collections to find the photos missing when you restart the computer.
    Aare move you or rename the pictures or folders having a collection? Bridge is a file browser, not an asset manager, so everything you do have an impact on the file names and locations can invalidate the elements stored in a collection.
    Then:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows-Vista/change-screen-resolution
    Change the screen resolution
    Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.
