My essential disappeared from my Lightroom 5.3 [was: 5.3 Photoshop]

I was working while flying to San Antonio, and he just disappeared... I need it for my work... Help

I think you mean Lightroom 5.3 - that Adobe insists to call Photoshop Lightroom. He is never caught. Just confuses everyone. Lightroom is Lightroom. Photoshop is Photoshop.

You have inadvertently hidden there. Billboards / masking seems to be a little-known feature of LR interface.

In the develop module, right-click anywhere in the HHR panel: tone curve, HSL etc.

Click on the shortcut menu to select base.

  • The usual Firefox logo disappeared from my iMac dock and was replaced by what looks like two sheets of paper against which a pen, pencil, and rule form a capital A. How can I get rid of this and get the old logo there?

All the details are in the question; It happened a week ago, and I am puzzled.

Try the solution in this thread for the pencil icon on Mac:

    • Remove the Firefox icon from the dock.
    • Create a new icon by dragging the Firefox application to the dock.

  • IE8 has disappeared from my computer and I can't retrieve it or download it successfully.

Works fully update Vista HP on a gateway DX4710-09, Pentium Dual core E5200, 6 GB of RAM DDR2, HD 640GO with lots of space empty.

Originally 32 and 64 bit versions of IE8 was installed and usable.  Just for a test, on 06/02/13 I installed and set Firefox as default browser but do not delete IE8 or other than to replace it with Firefox by default.  I used Firefox and IE8 such as required and all worked well for a while and then a few days ago two versions of IE8 has mysteriously disappeared from my computer and I was not able to get a return.  I tried to download but for some reason any that does not work.  I checked the list of installed programs and IE8 does not appear here and the two icons disappeared in the start menu, as well as in the Group of quick launch.  An IE folder appears in Windows Explorer in the Program Files folder as the Program Files (x 86) folders.  The subfolders in each list of files with a modification of 18/02/13 date I think it's the date IE8 disappeared.  Being not qualified for one more, I did nothing with any of the files in these folders for fear of making things worse.  Someone care to volunteer to get out of this dilemma?

  • I have a Mac and Lightroom 5. I was working on some files when inadvertently I did something to cause all my photos to disappear from lightroom. If I re - import how to retrieve the catalog?

I organized some files and noticed that a progress bar appears at the top to left that moved slowly from left to right. A message appeared to say something like "2 ongoing operations". When he finished all my photos had disappeared from lightroom.

Lightroom to backup every week and I have disc full back ups on external drives. When I re - import pictures I had already worked on them are now non-edited. What is the best way to restore my edits on the 10,000 photos that disappeared?

Basic rule: re - import is most of the time - or even never - a good idea

    • Quit LR
    • Back up your current catalog (*.lrcat)
    • Open the last zip of the backup folder and replace the current catalog.
    • Start LR

  • Lightroom has disappeared from my pc, and when I reinstalled (now in cc) my serial number is not accepted!

Bought lightroom in November 2013, for download on adobe.com. Suddenly lightroom disappears from my computer so I the re-download, but I see that adobe has changed the way it works, so I have to install creative cloud. Because some creative clouds of reason doesn't accept my serial number for lightroom, so now I have no way to edit my photos. I have triple-checked from different sources (adobe.com and email I received) that my serial number is correct, but every time lightroom makes me want to put my licensed software, my serial code makes the message: "the serial number you entered is invalid...» "Also, when I put my code in www.identit-e.com/adobe it says"identity-e does not recognize this product code. " "

I think that this problem can occur because I bought lightroom 5, but my creative cloud account installed lightroom 5.5. I've not seen a way to download the correct version of the software, but it looks like I need one, so can someone please give me a link or from the instructions on how to do. Also, if this is feasible as possible I also do not have to go through my lightroom creative cloud, as it is the product of adobe only that I use and I need to store anything in the cloud.

I can answer questions if I wasn't quite clear on my problem.

Oh my God I fixed it. Lucy was on the right track, so was Tatiana, but it was a little different. When I searched my downloads for lightroom installers uninstall lightroom then try again (when the Kieth fix did not work), I found three. Two for lightroom 5.2 and one for lightroom 5.5. I uninstalled lightroom 5.5, which was the only lightroom software on my computer and uninstalled creative cloud. I then reinstalled lightroom using a 5.2 installers and BAM! He asks me a serial code!

Unfortunately for you RoxyP this probably won't work for you, I'm sure my copy of lightroom was originally on the same computer, but you use a new computer with new information. I don't know how many computers a serial code is good for. If it's only good for licenses on a single computer, I'd look at trying to pass the computer on which you have a license, I don't know if it's possible, and I guess that she would take place with the help of someone who works for adobe.

    Thank you very much.

  • Lightroom has disappeared from the dock

When I booted up my laptop, I found that the symbol of Lightroom had disappeared from my dock from the application.  I use Mac OS 10.5.7 and Lightroom 2.6 and use the program every day for months.  I went into the Applications folder on the hard drive and found Lightroom, clicked on it, and it opened... give me the Registration Committee.  Is there a way I can open the app and get my old back catalogue, or is it toast?

You got it somewhere else - perhaps an external hard drive?  Search spotlight maybe not a bad idea and a hunt through your backups too.

  • My music disappeared from iTunes

I have all my music on my iMac, but I also have music selected in iTunes on my Macbook.  All of a sudden, the music of the Macbook disappeared and has been replaced by a reference to everything I've ever bought from iTunes.  All this will have to be downloaded on iCloud to play, there is essentially no music on my Macbook now.

If I go to the Finder and search for original music, that's all that's left in the folder, but just not appearing in iTunes.  Why is this and what happened to make my music to disappear from the interface of iTunes?

Furthermore, I don't want these other files referenced in music I've purchased previously on my Macbook at all.  I want only what I put here, so, how can I make it go away?

  • I need to activate my windows 7 Home premium and when I look at the bottom of my computer product key essentially disappeared... What can I do to get my product key?

I need to activate my windows 7 Home premium and when I look at the bottom of my computer product key essentially disappeared... What can I do to get my product key?

Option 1: You will need to invest in a new license.

Option 2: If your computer comes with a recovery partition, use to reinstall Windows 7, it will exempt the need to have a product key.

Option 3. Ask a recovery disk set from the manufacturer of your computer and use it to reinstall Windows 7, it will be exempt from the need to have a product key too.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

    ------------------------------------

This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

  • External HD disappeared from my library catalogue

My two external hard drive disappeared from my library edition in LR.  I looked at my last backup and near 13 000 images are in a single file.  How can I return all photos in LR with their dates to work with them even once?  I think I could have happen because I worked in two external HD?  I did it for a while and this is the first time I've had this happen. Ouch.  Appreciate any suggestions.

Please show us a screenshot of what you see in Lightroom where the external HD "extirpated" should appear.

In addition, it may be that you accidentally opened the wrong catalog. Browse to the file-> open the new item and select each illustrated catalog, they seem the external HDs 'disappeared '?

  • Files disappeared from the side panel

I use Lightroom 4.4 and folder names have disappeared from the section of the file of the side panel.  My 50K photos in the section of the catalogue of the side panel, but not in the section of the file.  I have hundreds of folders and subfolders that are gone

PROBLEM SOLVED... I closed LR and reopened and all records reappeared.

  • The main module controls develop disappeared from the window to develop.  How can I get back them?

The main module controls develop disappeared from the window to develop.  How can I get back them?  I work with Lightroom 5.3.  The missing controls are the sliders for exposure, clarity, contrast, etc.  I must have inadvertently clicked on something that made them disappear, but nothing I tried back them.  I've never had this experience over the years that I've been using Lightroom (since version 1.1).

Right-click on any other element curve tone e.g., and tick on 'Basic' if that is what you are missing.

If you miss the right click the full module to develop any other point Library for ex and put a check mark on develop

  • Catalog disappeared from the left panel of the Library tab

I currently work with a trial version of Lightroom 4.2 and I made a few mistakes. The end result is that the catalog has disappeared from the left panel of the Library tab is to say I only see folders, collections and Services to publish...

I tried to use the file/new catalog open catalog and open the recent item but, in any case, I get an error box that appears: "..." Catalog address made reference to a location that is unavailable' it does not help to close and reopen LR

Now for the confession as to how this situation developed. I had been using LR willingly using the catalog that was created automatically when I started. So I decided to try to create a new catalog, in fact I ended up creating a few new catalogues. Having then decided that it was a stupid idea, I decided to remove all catalogs and start over with a catalog that I had put up (I was not worried about losing the updates for the photos that I had been playing with)

But, as I could find nothing in LR on the removal of catalogs, I decided to remove them through Windows Explorer. When I went back to LR, catalogue was always on display in the Panel on the left and, when I looked in the Explorer, it is in the My Pictures/Lightroom folder that I thought that I had deleted along with all the other catalogues of origin. No doubt it had been recreated automatically as in my original use of LR

Then, I composed my errors by clicking on the + right of the catalog and interest, choose what was at the top of the resulting list. It is at this time that catalog disappeared never to be seen again.

Sorry about the labyrinthine tale of woe, but, if anyone has any ideas on how I can get back to testing LR, I'd love to know. Now I'm completely blocked

    johnip21 wrote:

Another small request: is it possible to change the name of the catalog without creating a new catalog?

Sure. Close Lightroom, then browse the catalog (.lrcat file) using the Finder or the Solution Explorer, and then rename it. The only thing is to make sure that you rename also in tandem with the adjacent Previews folder.

So, if your catalog is called, say, 'Lightroom Catalog.lrcat of 4' and you rename to something like "My Master LR4 Catalog.lrcat", then you will need to rename the folder "Lightroom 4 catalog Previews.lrdata" adjacent to "My Master LR4 catalog Previews.lrdata".
