My HP HDX 18 1200 has a cooling fan make noise at startup after being off for the night.

I don't have any document that shows how to open the unit and change the fan.  If the folder is available please either post the pdf or send them to me please.

Can I change the fan, that I built PC for 20 years.

Hello

You can try to look at this document.  It's maintenance and repair for the HDX 18 series, it is not listed under manuals for your model, so it is perhaps not entirely accurate, but it should be close, since this one is listed for earlier versions of the HDX 18 series.

After installing the BIOS ver 1.3, when the laptop computer powers until the cooling fan left running so strong, I thought it might burn or smoke.
After windows has completely turn on the fan turns off after about 5 minutes.

If I restart the pc, the fan is operating normally.
Has anyone else had this problem, can I might get their hands on the older version of BIOS?
    It is pulling my hair.

    Hello Anderson

Sorry, but your ad is a bit confusing to me.

    > If I restart the pc, the fan is operating normally.
Restart or normally power is almost the same. Updates means you have noticed this fan cooling problem once right after the BIOS?

Please watch carefully what happens the next few days. If the behavior of cooling is always strange I recommend you contact the service.
In the end, one thing is strange. Qosmio G20 isn't the newest model and this version of BIOS is not either yesterday, but you are the first person who has noticed this.

It appears in the Applications tab of the Task Manager?   If so, use with the right button go to the process about which app it is.   If the name of the Image doesn't have a clue you could also use ProcExp to see what is the command line.  (Press Ctrl-Shift-Esc to start TM.   Other OS show the command line in TM, but I don't think that makes XP.)

My Tecra M11 laptop is running Windows7 and with a broadband dongle Telstra wireless internet lights up and works normally for a period of time.

Sudennly it freezes completely and 5 seconds later the cooling fan starts to run until I power off using the power button.
    Clues?
    Thank you

You must understand that on this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here.
I can imagine that some background process starts and increase the use of the CPU at the critical level when the motherboard sensors register at higher temperature of the processor and cooling fan starts to run fast enough.

Try to check in the Task Manager, if something like that happen.

I put t know how you have configured your operating system and to applications that run in the background, but also to try to stop treatments that you don't need and change some settings.

  • GBM-1200 has parameters with A0L ADSL broadband

Hi, I wonder if anyone knew the parameters of the WBG-1200 a for AOL.
AOL is very useless and they won't give away customer reviews on the implementation of a wireless connection unless they bought two specific products they advertise. They can only give basic advice for customers who do not buy it specified product and the basic advice I received was contradictory.

I was told that I need the PPoA configuration and then told me that I needed PPOE. Is anyone know what are the settings are correct for fashion, a Simple configuration and everywhere where I might need to know.

    Hello

I unfortunately can't explain exactly how you can configure your WBG-1200 has because he is unknown to me. At home, I use the PPPoE protocol. In this case the IP address will be automatically assigned by the ISP (Internet Service Provider). It is very important that under Protocol Properties Internet IP address must be the value automatically.
The explanation, which you will find under http://www.finepointnetworks.com/research/pppoe/.

All other parameters are specific ISP.

  • Satellite 1800-514 - CPU cooling fan

My Satellite S1800-514 has now more than seven years. I never had any problems with it. But I'm a little worried now the CPU cooling fan. Basically it runs continuously since I bought the laptop.

I'm a guy of 'maintenance' of a man "fixing after the failure." On the other side, there is truth in "Do not open a market system".

Should I replace or let you replace the fan (cost?; risk?) after 7 years of non-stop work or wait that the failure?
Should I open the notebook and clean the fan and air conditioner?

    Anyone here with experience?
    Thank you

You are absolutely right with him "never touch a running system" ;)
And if you encounter any problem until now, let it well.

But what you could do is, clean the fan and cooling of the modules with a sort of a jet of compressed air to get rid of the dust.

Try this and good luck with your laptop. Seems to be a pretty strong and durable unit.

  • 2015 iMac 5K - investigation of cooling fan

    Hey guys,.

I just got the iMac end of 2015 5K with i7 Quad-core (skylake), 4.0 GB AMD R9 M395X, 32 GB of RAM, 2 TB Fusion Drive. The cooling fan is very quiet and it's quieter in the way, but when I've rendered from Adobe After Effects or Adobe Premiere fan starts booting (and then turns off once done rendering).

So, I wondered, - is this normal? It overheats? Contact Apple Support? This hurt the longevity of the iMac?

    Thanks for all your contributions!

Yes this is normal. The management control of the system is the detection of additional heat to the rendering process load and lifting the fan to avoid overheating.

  • Recommended installation for the stability of the regions hot & warm even under Safari until Mac, cooling system is innovated. For a more Durable Mac

Hello. It is best to combine a stable software (10.11.6 is stable to this day) and a cool hardware, even with Safari (with many tabs). A stable software is not enough, a cooled optimal equipment is also essential; It creates a stable holistic system.

Until Apple, miniaturize perhaps, a sort of refrigeration in the circuits themselves (coolant will be not compact) due to the warming of the planet (some countries reaching a strong history of 46 to 65 degrees Celsius), cooling fan is not viable because it is so hot that he uses room air, regardless of how fast the fans spin (which would be just like a set of dry hair to the maximum) is not enough. An already hot air will get even hotter once Macs is used for long hours that could damage the GPU in particular, or perhaps even deform boards disconnect some circuits even or deform inside fleas which includes also circuits in them. Heat can also soften the welds in the Mac.

It is recommended to run fans manually with a fan control application, even if the Mac is new (over the past six years the iMac I have had 2 replacements of GPU - this is most probably because of the heat and lack of ventilation in the Macs.) Apple may have more emphasis on function and either looks-it can't be 50-50. Replacement could cost if not for Apple Care which is good to have), if you are in an area that is warm or hot, at least 2000 rpm which seems to be a good balance between cooling and too much noise (it keeps the GPU minus 70 Celsius, especially). At 2000 rpm, the wear on the fans is not the only striking, it's usually only 47% of the maximum rpm of Apple fans (good fans are usually evaluated during maximum 5 years running 24/7 all year). But the best is to turn off all the gadgets to make noise to make the quiet place and adjust the fans (with a minimum of 2000 RPM) as quickly as possible without being noisy for the user. It is better to add extra cooling in the back (like a small electric fan or fans of cooling for laptops) for maximum stability if you're not in a cold air-conditioned room.

It is good to reset PRAM then MSC after the fans and password recovery to use disk utility (two types of repair) manually before booting into your main operating system.

    God bless you. Revelation 21:4

Directly from the plug of the iMac:

    Operating temperature: 50 ° to 95 ° F (10 ° to 35 ° C)

If you try to work beyond these limits, good luck!

There's this thing called 'air conditioners' cool the environment.

  • Tecra A8-erratic cooling fan

My new Tecra A8 (PTA race 83rd on Windows XP Professional) initially suffered from the cooling fan CPU refusing to close after starting upwards and go to full breath. Taking advice from this Forum, I downloaded the BIOS 4.50 and it soothed fan. Now, on battery, it remains altogether most of the time, but when I've anchor it to work on my employer's network it hums away never stops. I can put up with the background hum, but I fear that the cooling fan life will be shortened. Is there anything else I can do?

    Thank you

Hmm sometimes the cooling module runs without any pause because of the different or bad fan that is written into the system Bios table.
You can try to contact the service provider allowed in your country and to explain the situation with the erratic behavior of fan.

Perhaps the good DMI string must be written to avoid such behavior strange fan.

    Good luck

How can I get the right power source on my computer for this new fan?

    country0129,

Interesting question. Here is the manual for it:http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KHX_FAN.pdf

The manual States it is plugged into the motherboard fan power. You would need an infusion system or plug power from this source 'Y' and he would gets its signal from this source rpm.

  • Hard drive 320 GB Seagate HDX X18T - 1200 CTO failure

Hello everyone. I bought my HDX X18T - 1200 CTO last summer with the option of two hard drives of 320. I currently have my secondary drive failed each test disk error checking I throw at it so I know it's meant to death in the imminent future.

Question: I have already backed up disc twice on different external sources, but now since my laptop and its equipment are still under warranty, I am trying to locate the area on the HP site where I can request a repair underwarranty. Could someone please direct me to the correct site link box?

Secondary question: I really don't want another Seagate, but since it is under warranty I should get a new disc free of charge. However, I don't want to send my laptop in to an HP repair center, which is incredibly stupid when I can just share myself readers in 5 minutes. Has anyone asked the same thing before? HP will send a replacement and I just send them the wrong disc?

    Thanks for all the help.

Simply, call the general number 1-800-HP-INVENT (I guess you live in the United States) and walk through the menus. Warranty service is one of the elements. On a hard drive, they will usually send you a replacement but they ask for a credit card number and they load it, then he credit when you send in the old. It is not the best system, but better than sending in the computer laptop everything. I don't think they'll allow you to specify the brand of replacement. It may or may not be a Seagate; depends on what they have on site.
