my hp mini requires a password at start up

My mini is requiring a password when I turn it on. its been ages since I used it and I do not remember the pw now... How can I live without it or even factory reset it and start over?

Hello

Unfortunately not - the only other option would be to connect a keyboard external usb and enter the code using the this.

  • Since my computer says my password is incorrect, and I can't find my disk how can I reinstall Windows 7? It requires a password to start

My system rebooted since an update and when I tried to enter my password it says that it was incorrect.  I tried to enter my old password and that has not worked.  I have searched everywhere for my password reset disk and can't find it.  I went on the internet to see if there was anything that I could do and he said that I have to reinstall Windows 7 on laptop.  I tried and the first thing he did was ask for my password that he rejected.  The other user can login but is not an administrator, so she can't help me.  I ran full system antivirus and it says that my system was safe and no virus found.  Is any help available?

No, you don't need to a password to re - install Windows, but I don't think that such a drastic measure is necessary. Let's focus on the issue of opening of first session. There are a lot of options built into Windows to help you out of this situation:

    • Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if you have recently changed the password).
    • Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you set up an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
    • Insert your flash drive USB with password key file (works only if you have taken the time to create such a key file and you can actually locate).
    • Use the password indicator (works only if you have created a hint and if it's good enough to allow you to guess the password)
    • Check your paper files (only works if you threw down the password somewhere.)
  • Remove password on Start up... How?

I want to do NOT require a password when I start the computer, after that it's running... I checked the Bios settings, and they show requirement of password in the CLEAR.

    Great glad it's fixed!

Well, in your situation, I would like to remove this annoying password to connect!  A lot of things we can do differently to off-grid.

  • I'm trying to restore Vista OS to the factory settings and it requires a password that I never created.

It is an Acer Aspire 5315 that my mom gave to my daughter. She says that she has never created a system restore point that requires a password so how to do this? Oh, and I have no disc as it came preloaded.

    Hello

A System Restore Point is not the process of factory settings recovery.

Using a System Restore Point puts the settings of the computer to an earlier date.

Recovery to factory settings is to reinstall the operating system to how it was when new.

Some Acer models have a default password that you use to start the process of the "hidden" recovery Partition Recovery

Usually press you Alt + F10 at startup to start the process of relocation and Acer default password should be 6 zeros, unless someone has changed.

If not, give Acer a phone call.

    See you soon.

  • Disable the requirement of password for the network disks

I have a LAN with Windows XP Pro and Vista computers. With some effort, all computers can see, edit and manage files on other computers. There is also network disks (that is, directly connected to the network; no computer) used for backup and storage.

None of the computers or readers in network has a login password or user name. I intend to keep it that way. (Think of the bucolic neighborhood where no one locks doors and there is no flights.)

Since the Vista (Ultimate) computer, when I try to back up to a network drive, Vista insists on a user name and password. But there is not. So, I can't back up to a network drive (although in Windows Explorer and the command prompt, I can write and manage networked computers and disks without problem). I was not able to find a way around this obstacle.

I put the Vista computer is not to require a password (network and sharing Center > sharing and discovery > sharing protected by password = Off). But that seems to focus on the incoming requests (from other computers to access the Vista computer) but no outgoing requests (Vista to get access to other computers and readers). Affecting the security of the files and folders on other computers and network disks to everyone = control total (in other words, anyone who can physically access the disc should be able to write to it) did not solve the problem.

I assume that there is a simple solution. I would be grateful for help. (Remember that the parameter/allocation of passwords is not a solution).

I don "t know precisely how to do what you ask for - there is no commands or settings I am sensitive to this address. It can probably be done with a registry fix, but I looked and could not find one.

I found the following solution suggested in another forum and it was the only one who seemed to avoid the need for name of user and password (or failed to mention this requirement and exists).  It may not be the same as your situation is a Win Server and so maybe a field rather than a working group, but it seems worth a try.  To be honest, I don't know yet if the command applies to your situation and can not test it with my system - but who will know soon enough. If it allows you to, maybe the location of the network password will give you tips on how to make various adjustments that will work in your situation.  I would be cautious about deleting all references without making a note of them so they can be restored if she doesn't and perhaps is still problematic.  I would also create a system restore point right before starting this process to be on the safe side.

For what it's worth, I had this works when you connect a Vista client to Win Server 2003 R2 SIN.  I had the same questions as everyone else here, but ultimately what worked for me was of typecontrol userpasswords2 in the command run on the Vista client and go into the Advanced tab, then on manage passwords.  I found references to the NAS (DNS names, ip addresses) and removed all.  Then I disonnected all drives mapped to the SIN of working.  Then I traced the drive that I was going to use for backup by using the network card function first and that worked (I used the mapping of IP).  Then I went into the backup and restore and it said it was on a network drive and typed in the path (once again using an IP instead of a server name) and he was able to see the drive and I would like to choose what to backup, etc. and it worked.

I hope this works.  If this isn't the case, after return and I'll investigate more trying to find a solution (if any).

    Good luck!

  • Computer not requiring not password after waking up

I've recently updated Windows Home Premium to Windows Ultimate and for some reason when my computer wakes up from his sleep, he is no longer requiring a password (huge security issue).  I went through the standard troubleshooting:

    (1) reset password

    (2) went to: control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\System Settings and made sure 'require a password' has been selected in the section "password on wakeup.  I also turned off and then back on to be sure.

    (3) went to: control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings\Change power settings advanced and made sure the "------balanced." require a password on------awakening was set to 'yes' I also turned it to 'no' and then again to yes.

    (4) went to sleep and selected screen 'on Resume, the logon screen".

All this was done under my account single tool.  Any ideas?  The only other variable is I have a Dell 2305 all-in-one that has a software called facial recognition program "Fast Access" that must use the webcam to recognize your face and to unlock the computer.  This works very well when you perform a reboot, that I get the password screen, but it is not active as a result.

    I am confused?

EDIT: I just noticed that "Lock" does not at all.  It does not work via the start menu or through my shortcut button.  This could be the cause?

    Thank you!

Looks like I've found the problem.  The workstation locking has been disabled (I have no idea how).

I had to put the following registry entry to 0:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

I hope this can help someone else.

Using Windows 7.  Note of the screen says I have to enter a password to unlock my PC.  I've never assigned a password so that I can not start.  What can I do to use this computer?

Someone probably set up an automatic logon process that gets Windows to remember your password at logon. These passwords are easily forgotten because they are never used. Here's what you need to do:

    1. Forcibly restart the machine by pressing the power button for 10 seconds.
    2. Log in normally.
    3. Change your screen saver so that it does not require a password.
    4. Create, test, and document an admin account to spare, even you have a spare House key. This will save you a lot of trouble. It would have saved you this time too!

Thank you very much Forest.  I am 86 and still learning.

  • HP mini 210-reset password

I have a hp mini 210, I bought used for ny off restored daughter.i back and now she wants a password of the original owner, which is the number I do not have any longer.this is on the screen.i windows assumption that would be the administrative password to start... It is to click on reset password, but when I do it request a disk or a flash drive... When I install a flash drive, it says always the same thing... It gives even a clue, but I can't well guessed it... I appreciate any help thanks

    Hello

You have 2 option call the previous owner and verify the password. Or you can use the F11 option and run a recovery and start fee. If the F11 option does not work, you must call the HP technical support and order the recovery disk.

  • After installation, bookmarks import/restore will require the password from the previous version

I tried to set the master password yet appeared that submit or accept was grey and there was no focus confirmation. No PC to use for more than a week (out of the city for the funeral) was subsequently returned to find now need a master and had no idea that I had used the day I tried to settle this. I've saved my favorites and now wonder if I install a new version if those import requires the password that I don't know.

I suggest that the master password must confirm that it has been set. I had 'cancelled' on this screen so assumed, no password has been in place. Hard lesson to find out if I have to reset and lose all the passwords.

First of all, ALWAYS save your passwords safe, just for this reason.
As for the master, this effects only password manager. The other
managers should not be carried out.

Occasionally, it may restart because something was wrong. It is not a problem unless this happens frequently.

  • When I download Fire Fox, it requires the password. How to know what password was there

When I try the bottom of the load of Firefox, two messages come. One is the administrator and then it asks password. As far as I know that I had never set a password. 2nd is that Chrome think this program will be bad for the computer and it rejects the download process.

I was informed that if I download new Firefox then it will stop requiring the password, but no use.

  • When I cannot connect to all my sites requiring a password, and then close browserand reopen browserand I open a session in the agianevenwhenIsay site remember me the facebook

When I log on all my sites requiring a password and username for example Facebook and Gmail, then I close the browser with "remember me" selected it disconnects me Gmail and Facebook. So I log into these sites once again. This does not happen to me in Internet Explorer or Google Chrome.

Firefox seems to save the password and username but disconnects me all my sites that requires a user name and a password after each session. This happen to me before an update of Firefox.

The only way I found to get around this problem to keep Firefox open.

    Thank you

The box ' remember me ' indicates the site to place a cookie in Firefox. Persistent means that the cookie is marked with a future expiration date to keep Firefox it between sessions.

There are a lot of ways out of this. For example:

    • Visit the site in a private window
    • Change the default setting in Firefox to accept persistent cookies of all servers (first and third)
    • Set Firefox to clear the cookies at the stop
    • Install Add - ons that erase cookies
    • Use cleaning/security/privacy software external which clears the cookies from Firefox

If you are not sure about your settings of cookies, see the Panel of the Privacy Options dialog box:

the button Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) > Options > privacy

If you have "conservation rules: don't forget history" then the cookies are accepted and stored.

If you have a "conservation rules: use the custom settings for history" you can check your settings on cookies below this line.

If you have "conservation rules: don't remember history" while you want to use full time private browsing and cookies are thrown between sessions.

If the cookies settings are okay, and you would like some advice on your extensions, it would help if you could post a list of them. Open the troubleshooting information page by using either:

    • Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the upper left corner, click the text of the copy to Clipboard button, then paste it into a response.

After you have previewed, you will see there are additional information below the list of extensions that you can change them if you wish.

  • Requirement of password "you have to change your unlock iPhone code access in 52 minutes.»

My father is very upset and frustrated, and so I am. I hope that we can be compensated in some way (but probably not).

My father unlocked his iPhone 5 as usual, then he got a notification on the home screen that says "password requirement you need to change your unlock iPhone code access in 52 minutes.»  We have never seen this before notifcation, and my sister and I have an iPhone more than 6/6.  I told my father to simply ignore it, but then he kept appearing whenever he has unlocked his cell phone, so I told her to choose continue.

He chose to continue, changed the password from one to 4 digits long, and then he picked up his phone.

Restarts, the phone prompts you to put in an access code to the first newspaper in attempt before it allows you to use the contact IDS.  It introduced the new password, but it didn't work.  He tried several times, and now it shows there are 60 minute wait.  At this point, it just goes to continue to put in the access code until it restores his phone.

Why did this happen first? It has a 5 under AT & T's iPhone with the latest version of iOS.

The new password longer trying to capture is correct, because when you create the password, it asks you to enter twice, and he could not continue if he does not get it right twice.  So why the code was not working?

    Hello gabemstr,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I see in your message that your dad's iPhone shows an error saying: requirement of password you need to change your unlock code.  It seems that your father has a managed iPhone, with a profile that is installed on it.  When a device is managed, it can have certain requirements for password as an age of access code.  I suggest your dad gets in touch with his staff, or deletes the profile.

By default, the authentication of the user code can be defined as a six digit on taking devices PIN supported Touch ID or a PIN digit on all other devices. In iOS, you can choose from a comprehensive set of password policy to meet needs of your security. These access policies may include requirements for:

    • An access code on an iOS device

    • An alphanumeric value

    • Minimum length of password

    • Minimum number of complex characters

    • Maximum password age

    Password policies

    1. Delete the configuration profile provided with the application.
      • Go to settings > general > profile, tap on the configuration of the application profile.
      • Then click on delete the profile. If requested, enter your device password, and then press DELETE.
    2. Restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

How to remove an application that has a configuration on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch profile
