My laptop freezes after login

A few days ago, I installed a cd of Windows 8 in my Windows xp laptop. Now today, I try to put on and once I connect it shows just ab lank (my default screen color) screen with my mouse. I can only go to task master and that's all.

Hello

Did you check with the system/motherboard manufacturer, officials of ALL the major
devices and the Windows Compatibility Center to ensure compatibility? If they are
compatible, then maybe you need to update the BIOS, drivers chipset and all the
main engines.

See the Compatibility Center.

Windows Compatibility Center
http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/compatibility/WIN8/CompatCenter/home?language=en-us

Download and run the upgrade wizard.

How to download and run the "Windows 8 Upgrade Wizard"

=========================================================

Update driver and troubleshooting details (don't forget to check for BIOS, chipset,

(and other drivers):

Start settings for Windows (including safe mode) <> use the necessary Safe Mode if possible
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/Windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode

Other methods - office - sale mouse left - right click - RUN or
WINDOWS key + X - RUN: type MSCONFIG.exe - Startup tab - check start secure - APPLY / OK
-REBOOT. Use the general tab - Diagnostic startup or selective startup - APPLY / OK.

Microsoft - hardware and drivers

What happens if a device is not installed correctly

Check with the manufacturer of system (manufacturer of motherboard for customized systems) updated
the BIOS, chipset of low level driversand the major device on-board and separate
drivers
. Execute DriverView - value VIEW drivers Microsoft hide - updated from those
without drain to
their name.

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your
System. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address
of the driver, description, version, product name, company that created the driver, and
more.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

To check system drivers manufacturer as replacements and camera manufacturer who are most
current. Control Panel - device - Display Adapter Manager - note the brand and
fill out the template tab of the driver for your card video - double-click - write down the
the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind
certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver
stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if
3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers you
a.

Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration), and then
Site of the manufacturer of the device (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions.
(Review of the BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system while there).

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT
After each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you install
actually arises. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed
(particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot - check is to be sure
installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat BTW to the manufacturers - manufacturers of devices DO WORK DO NOT THEIR SCANNER-
manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

I hope this helps.

After starting my laptop freezes.  How long after starting varies.  Sometimes it will freeze after only a few minutes. Sometimes it can be operational for an hour or two.  Want to know how to fix this.

Tested hard drive and the Long DST failed.  Has given an ID of the failure of QAGCHR-5GH847-XDOO3A-61AKO3.  Product ID is XHO66UA #ABA.

    Hello

Error code 24 characters is a failure of the entire test (DST) disk Self and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the freezing issues you describe.

  • New computer laptop freeze after power connection (there is a delay, not immediately)

    Hello

I'm having a problem with my laptop Fujitsu Amilo Li 3710 newly purchased. When I plug the power while the computer is turned on, it would freeze completely (no movement of the cursor or keyboard) I put off and then back on to fix. Often, but not always.

But I realized that this isn't an instant freeze, because the laptop starts to load and changes the brightness of the screen according to the Power Options before the frost. So I guess it's not a motherboard problem.

I disabled the battery in the Device Manager if the system will not recognize AC battery operation, the problem disappeared. But it won't let me see the remaining battery charge.

My installation of Windows is fully updated. It's the SP2 of Vista Ultimate x 64.

    What can we do?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Thank you for your answer, but I'm sure this isn't a hardware problem because I think I found the culprit who is "State of the PCI Express link" in Power Options that should be set to OFF.
In addition, the laptop NOT Batt-AC swtich successfully, but when he FOLLOWS the rules Power Options, it freezes.

    Scenario:
    Charger plugged in,
    Battery charges,
    Changes in screen brightness,
    Gel.

If it's a hardware problem, he would certainly like:
    Charger plugged in,
FREEZE (as the power glitch will take effect so little time before dealing with the brightness etc...)

Again, so far, the "State of the PCI Express link" seems have solved the problem.

Any other explanation or the info is welcome from all over the world.

Hi all. Last night, I did a new install of windows for a client who was under XP. I installed the OS on an old partition and has left the (OEM reserved) Partition as well, thinking that he would not make a difference.

The computer began to get slow, slow to the point where wouldn't even open the start menu, I'd start the task manager would have ghost on the windows desktop, so it was torn in two (half showing the Ctrl Alt Delete half of growth Office menu. I'm tired of this problem: my laptop freezes after 15 minutes of inactivity and I can get it going again to reset. The problem was solved when I reinstall Vista, but after several months my laptop started hanging up. And my laptop is unable to install Tempro 2.0.3.

Please, help me to solve this problem and I don't want to reinstall Vista again.

    Hello

For me it sounds like that a 3rd party software application or is causing this problem because you wrote that after Vista reinstall, the problem has been resolved.

I put t know this software you have installed, but you need to remove all unnecessary applications as shareware or trial versions.
Then use CCleaner to clean the registry.
Visit the Windows update website and install all the updates that are available for your Windows.

In the worst case, you will need to reinstall Vista again. In my opinion a reinstall from time to time is normal and I have reinstall my laptop every year. So I often have good performance.

Sometimes when I start the laptop nothing happens at all but the Green led indicating that the laptop is on.

    Hi people,

I don't know any virus that will prevent a computer until it has passed some time. The only thing I know to cause this behavior is overheating causing an internal thermal trigger to operate. It must then cool enough to reset before you can find. Of course the longest (and so more fresh) the laptop's left over it will eventually work before freezing.

Check that the cooling system is not obstructed in some way (dust or proximity loose papers, fabrics for furniture etc.).

You are in the forum MS Security Essentials anti-malware and anti-virus advice.  You should repost in the Windows forum.  However, here are some quick suggestions.

    (1) do you notice this always or only when certain applications are running?  Uninstall and reinstall these applications.
    (2) how many times you restart your PC?  If you are on a Vista OS, you must restart quite often (daily).
    (3) have you ever 'cleaned' temporary files?  If your PC can accommodate, if you run many applications (enough to force windows to exchange the hard disk in the background) etc, your PC can accumulate a lot of tmp files that slow things down as he tries to understand what it takes to run and what to leave to sleep.  Download and run the free and safe application called ccleaner, which will it clean up automatically when you start.
    (4) the concern of lines vertical me... don't know if it's just an artifact of graphics drivers try to follow on a PC that freezes or an indication of a problem.  You may need to call support for your laptop.
