Laptop freezes after exactly 2 minutes
My laptop freezes after exactly 2 minutes. I don't get the problem when booting in safe mode. I've disabled all services & then allowed them one at a time and the problem seems to be with BITS & Windows update. My laptop will not freeze if I let only these two services turned off. I ran the Scanner to complete MS who managed nothing found. I also ran sfc/scannow & cleaning. I have a HP G7000 Notebook running Vista Home Basic 32-bit with SP2.
Thank you.
What follows is a generic response.
Among the measures that you have already done.
There are many reasons why a PC "behaves" in this way.
These boring "desynchronization" can be caused by an overloaded hard drive, CPU overworked, Malware, 2 AV, useless data, browser addons, or you can have unnecessary programs running in the background, etc...
What follows is a series of steps that you want to try troubleshooting...
* Make sure that all the intake/exhaust vents are clean as well as fans.
Download some software temp monitoring for cpu, gpu.
* This could be a hard drive that goes wrong or corrupt.
To check a hard training see Check Disk...
Run the disk check.
* In a Directors account type cmd in search.
Type sfc/scannow in cmd.
This report and solve minor problems.
Take note of what is said at the end.
Your computer should freeze, try to do the tests in safe mode.
* Go to search, type Manager devices and look for the yellow warning markers.
* If overclocking, restore to the original.
* Try in safe mode; report back if it works properly.
* Minimum. You to find out what is causing your problem.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
* Run a scan with Malwarebytes.
Please download the free version of Malwarebytes.
Update immediately.
Do a full scan of the system
Let us know the results at the end.
http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products
List of all security software that you had already installed & currently now have on your computer please.
* Browser addons can create problems.
Check how much you have on your browsers.
Each & every one is really necessary?

HP G62 laptop computer: laptop freezes after startup
After starting my laptop freezes. How long after starting varies. Sometimes it will freeze after only a few minutes. Sometimes it can be operational for an hour or two. Want to know how to fix this.
Tested hard drive and the Long DST failed. Has given an ID of the failure of QAGCHR-5GH847-XDOO3A-61AKO3. Product ID is XHO66UA #ABA.
Hello
Error code 24 characters is a failure of the entire test (DST) disk Self and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced. This is also consistent with the freezing issues you describe.
If you want a guide on replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.
Kind regards

Hi there @SteveTung,
Before I provide documentation of troubleshooting, I would like to take a moment to welcome you to the HP support community. I'll do my best to help solve the portable gel after the start.
Please make sure that the AC adapter cable is not plugged into a power strip, surge arrester, or secondary power source. It should be directly into a wall outlet.
Have you tried running in Safe Mode?
Did you do a BIOS reset?
Have you tried to do a disk defragment?
Have you tried to do a Disk Cleanup?
Have you tried to clean the vents?
Is the noisy fan or turn constantly?
Is the hotter than normal PC?
Have you tried tests to hardware failures?
Here are the documents of test and calibration of the battery and improve the performance of the battery .
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updated.
Here are a few other documents for you that can help:
- Computer hangs or freezes
- Set the slow system performance.
- Reduce the heat inside the PC to avoid overheating

Laptop freezes after BIOS update
Today, March 22, 2015, I installed an automatic update from Toshiba for my laptop satellite. Since updating my laptop crashes seconds after the start, displaying the message: "Unhandled System exception in thread (btfilter.sys).
Can someone help me?
To talk about possible solutions, it would be very useful to know which model of laptop you have, and what system is pre-installed.
In addition, it would be interesting to know if you ever tried to get the laptop back to factory settings.
If you do not have in the past, I recommend you to perform this restore and to sett the laptop back to factory settings -

Hello
I'm having a problem with my laptop Fujitsu Amilo Li 3710 newly purchased. When I plug the power while the computer is turned on, it would freeze completely (no movement of the cursor or keyboard) I put off and then back on to fix. Often, but not always.
But I realized that this isn't an instant freeze, because the laptop starts to load and changes the brightness of the screen according to the Power Options before the frost. So I guess it's not a motherboard problem.
I disabled the battery in the Device Manager if the system will not recognize AC battery operation, the problem disappeared. But it won't let me see the remaining battery charge.
My installation of Windows is fully updated. It's the SP2 of Vista Ultimate x 64.
What can we do?
Thank you.
Hello
Thank you for your answer, but I'm sure this isn't a hardware problem because I think I found the culprit who is "State of the PCI Express link" in Power Options that should be set to OFF.
In addition, the laptop NOT Batt-AC swtich successfully, but when he FOLLOWS the rules Power Options, it freezes.Scenario:
Charger plugged in,
Battery charges,
Changes in screen brightness,
Gel.If it's a hardware problem, he would certainly like:
Charger plugged in,
FREEZE (as the power glitch will take effect so little time before dealing with the brightness etc...)Again, so far, the "State of the PCI Express link" seems have solved the problem.
Any other explanation or the info is welcome from all over the world.

Satellite X 200 freezes after 15 minutes of inactivity
I'm tired of this problem: my laptop freezes after 15 minutes of inactivity and I can get it going again to reset. The problem was solved when I reinstall Vista, but after several months my laptop started hanging up. And my laptop is unable to install Tempro 2.0.3.
Please, help me to solve this problem and I don't want to reinstall Vista again.
Hello
For me it sounds like that a 3rd party software application or is causing this problem because you wrote that after Vista reinstall, the problem has been resolved.
I put t know this software you have installed, but you need to remove all unnecessary applications as shareware or trial versions.
Then use CCleaner to clean the registry.
Visit the Windows update website and install all the updates that are available for your Windows. In the worst case, you will need to reinstall Vista again. In my opinion a reinstall from time to time is normal and I have reinstall my laptop every year. So I often have good performance.

SAT S1800-921 freezes after 5 minutes
This laptop freezes after 5 minutes. The only solution is to unplug the power supply. It is usually impossible for something like 20 minutes to restart the computer.
Already tried operating system sector / boot in the bios-update / reinstall.Sometimes when I start the laptop nothing happens at all but the Green led indicating that the laptop is on.
Anyone suggestions... Please?
Hi people,
I don't know any virus that will prevent a computer until it has passed some time. The only thing I know to cause this behavior is overheating causing an internal thermal trigger to operate. It must then cool enough to reset before you can find. Of course the longest (and so more fresh) the laptop's left over it will eventually work before freezing.
Check that the cooling system is not obstructed in some way (dust or proximity loose papers, fabrics for furniture etc.).
Kind regards
