  I have not heard of someone with backward compatibility with graphics cards problems.  I have recommended PCI 2.0 and 3.0 for several older computers.  Some have problems with the cards that are not compatible with Secure Boot.  They must disable Secure Boot and choose inheritance options.  That said, we must make sure not to choose a card that is too long.  Normally, I recommend buying a card that is not more than 9 ".  This ensures that it fits.  The maps you want to have one or two power on the end connectors.  This adds up to an inch.  I don't know of a member who has installed a map which happened 10.5 "in a matter of size medium, but it was extremely tight.  I am not sure that this will allow good air circulation.
