my processor is running at good speed?

I bought a HP a6814y with the Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core E5200 @ 2.50 GHz some days ago.  When I run cpu - z it says each core is clocked at 1200 MHz.  Should not each clocked at 2500 MHz?  I went in the vista Control Panel and set the power to high-performance options, so the minimum and maximum processor state is 100%.

SpeedStep is enabled in the BIOS (C1E and EIST).  Don't know if there is an option in your BIOS to Turn - off EIST and C1E.  The CPU uses a multi 12.5 with 200 MHz FSB (12.5 x 200).  With active EIST and C1E, CPU will run at 6 x 200 (1200 MHz) at idle.  The CPU will automatically ramp up to 2500 MHz high load.

I have 4 GB of RAM, but when my i play any game for example NFS most wanted, my CPU fan runs at high speed and my system gets shut down within minutes. Help me solve this problem

If you overclocked?  If so, cancel that.  If the games you play are poorly written, it is not that you can do about it.  If you have not cleaned the dust and lint from your computer within a certain time, you should do that because it accumulates and causes overheating.  For desktop computers, remove the cover and carefully use compressed gas to blow off the dust, especially around the fins in the processor heat sink and air ducts.  For a laptop, I'll ring gas compressed through the ventilation openings.

    Good luck.

  • HP dx2000MT: why fan runs on high speed

Hello, the fan in this machine works sometimes at high speed, can someone tell me why or what I can do to stop this please?

The most common cause of a computer running at max speed fan is a processor overheating.

    This can be caused by:

-Extended heavy load on the processor.

    -Malware can cause this.

-If you use many programs at the same time as background tasks, who will do as well.

-Dirty/dusty in the computer heat sinks.

    -Malfunctioning components from the motherboard.

    -Bad placement of the computer.

-Desktop computers should be placed where they receive lots of air circulation.

-They should also be placed away from heater vents / air conditioning floor. AC vents may be tempting to cool the machine but will cause condensation and destroy it.

-Observe the fresh air intakes where on the computer. Generally low and/or front of the chassis. If there is a substantive contribution, move the unit out of the carpet and on a hard surface.

-Do not keep the Tower in a small enclosed space. Computer Cabinet should never have the door closed with the runinng machine.

-If it was a laptop, you also to maintain it on a soft surface such as beds and prefer to use it on a desk, or on the binder or other similar when surface into the fold.

-Vista-era of HP computers are completely garbage as well. (Sorry HP, but it's true). Watch by substituting a newer computer. The new HP machines are not nearly as terrible as those made when Vista was released.

  • HP h8-1141 fan runs at full speed all the time

Processor and fun of rear cooling fan runs at full speed on Pavilion h8-1141

    Solution:

I cleaned the inside of the computer and all the fans. It was very dusty.

Then I pressed my finger on all the cards on the motherboard to make sure they don't lose. As for the fans, I took out and put them back in.

Now it's working. The fans are back to normal.

    Hello!

My iMac 27 "has an intermittent problem with the CPU fan runs at full speed. Sometimes it happens at the time when I start it, sometimes only in my session, and sometimes only after a certain time. So does seem to be a problem of "heating".

Second issue is with the mode 'sleep'. It may occur also at any time, at the start of the iMac, session, or after a certain time. But once he starts to go in mode 'sleep', when I wake up, it goes right back in mode after a few seconds and that it will continue indefinitely until I restart the computer.

  • Portege M100 just run half the speed - 600 Mhz

    Hello
I have a Portege M100 that I found very slow until I discovered it was running half speed (IE 600 mhz). I tried everything in the Bios and in Toshiba utility, but nothing to do: always clocked at 600 Mhz.

Is there something I missed? y at - it 'special' something to do to allow him to run at full speed?

I thank the of in advance to anyone who helps!

    Hello

As already suggested that the firmware must be updated! This portable strange behavior happens especially if the technician forgot to update this laptop runs only at 600 MHz.

When I stop the Satellite A300, the fan always runs at full speed.

    Hello

What? Cooling modules run, even in this case, the cell phone is off?
Press the power button for at least 4 seconds, then the laptop must be turned off.
Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery
Wait about an hour and reconnect the battery and AC adapter
Then switch on the device after a certain time of use of turning the unit off and check if the cooling modules would stop too

The problem is when I suspend it for more the a few minutes when the fan is running at high speed. This occurs on both Windows XP and Linux GNU. When the temperature of the two nuclei will more then 51 degrees C fan slows down and begins to work as expected. Suspended for a short time (about a minute or two) the fan speed is OK.

  • Satellite Pro A120 - fan runs at full speed

I've had my laptop for a few years, and for about a week now when I first turn on the fan runs at full speed. I restart the computer immediately and fun runs normally. I suspect overheating or dust problems since it works at full speed as soon as it is powered but not after a reboot. I left at full speed for a long time to see what is happening - I is not too annoying. I usually restart immediately.

These laptops have the sensors of dew or something? I guess the House is cooler just now.
    Advice anyone?

    Ritchie.

    Hello

I doubt the s sensor issue or something like that
Cooling modules are controlled by the BIOS. The fan table that contains all the details about the features of the cooling module is stored in the BIOS and I recommend the default BIOS settings first

So, start the laptop, press F2 and access the BIOS.
Press F9 to get the BIOS default settings, and then save the changes and exit the BIOS.
Of course, the cooling modules must be verified if the vents are not blocked
The dust is more a cause of such symptoms
Remove dust using a jet of compressed air can be useful in your situation

SIW ISC: ACPI - 45, the CPU cores around 44 HARD drive is 36 and the fan always runs at full speed. Ive tried a couple of fan speed, program management, but it did not help.

Is there something that could help me with this prob?
    Thank you for any response.

    Hello
Try to update the BIOS of the laptop. You should be able to download this on the Toshiba site of the country in which you bought the laptop. I hope this helps.

  • New z500 - fan runs at high speed on startup

    Hello

I just bought a new Ideapad, a MBYP9GE Z500, that I got no windows, when I turn on the laptop it works in the BIOS. The problem I have is that the fan starts in high speed immediately and it is very noisy at start up. Is this normal? I want to say how is possible that the fan is noisy so if I am not under what whether intensive? Maybe it's because I have not installed yet any system? Or is it my laptop malfunction?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi neokenchi,

Thank you for your response. Yesterday, I installed Windows 7 and the appropriate drivers, that solved the problem. The fan runs at high speed before installing a system was apparently the default heat setting, as you suggested.

    Thanks again!

  • Pavilion 7000: Computer freeze once the fan CPU runs at max speed

    Product name: Pavilion 7000

    Product model: 7 p - 1090d

    Product no.: QP177AA #UUF

Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit version.

Computer blocks once the fan CPU runs at max speed. Initially, the computer would occationally freeze after waking up from sleep mode (CPU fan would be occaionally operate at full speed & freeze the system).  Now cannot load even in windows. It freezes at the configuration of the BIOS once the fan turns at speed computer crashes if the CPU fan run at maximum speed wherever you are!

    1. I did the cleanning & lubrication & even take the battery to reset the Bios but no success too.

(Before I can reset the Bios it will run normally.)

    2. remove all USB devices except the mouse & keyboard

    3. detach & attach Ram memory & graphic card

I saw a ROM_Recovery shunt on the motherboard label. Must I do? or can someone help, please?

I sent to the center of HP service after a week, the service staff telling me that he was unable to go bad because my motherboard is the American version, which I have no idea what it means (my PC was purchased locally) but to bring him back.

I solved my problem of tried to detach the Rams (2 actuators) & install only 1 on an another RAM slot first. This works. Then installed the second RAM on an another slot also without no problems so far.

I have an old HP Office also having the location of the faulty RAM & also had replaced graphics card but it raise a peep sound error which easier to identify.

I agree with you more HP, hardware problem is due to RAM or video card. Thanks anyway

Recently bought studio 15 laptop with windows 7 and I try to run need for speed pc underground game on her, but she does not appear and the message "speed.exe has stopped working" appears on the screen. can someone help us?

    Hi Andy,.

I checked the reported compatibility list, and the game is listed as compatible.  Work in 64-bit or 32-bit Windows 7?  I will try to reinstall the game, if you did an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 recently.  If it is a new installation and does not, please visit the EA's Web site to get the latest patch for the game to see if that helps address your problem.  Let me know if you've done all that and you still have questions, and we can try something else.

  • Why is my modem 56 k running at half speed

I have to located 17 miles from the nearest town (las vegas, NM) and I just phone service.  When outgoing calls, I can connect only to 26 400 bps.   I am running windows XP Professional on a laptop that worked very well with the modem link 56 k.

Your modem will run at maximum speed it can, given the quality of your phone line.  The telephone line must pass, more bandwidth which can be taken in charge.  The phone company usually has diagnostics which will assess the quality of your line and determine the baud rate that it will support.  Sometimes, they go out and try to improve the quality... but if you are all by yourself 17 miles from the nearest town and your quality is semi-decent, they can ask to live with what you have.

  • Case fan runs at full speed

I accidentally shorted the circuit case fan on my motherboard HP (explanation below), and now the fan runs at full speed all the time. Apart from the fact that it was a stupid thing to do, it will be a long term problem and should I try to reset the fan speed switch?

(Long version) It's hot here these days and my computer fans seemed underpowered. I put a splitter at the exit of the case on the motherboard fan and added a second fan in addition to the original fan. All it worked well except the new fan seems to run pretty slow. I wanted to get a voltage reading card fan, but I accidentally hit the two sensors on my voltmeter and the computer shuts down immediately. He has started up and worked well, except that the throttle was no longer working and the fans were running at full speed. This also explains why the second fan turned slowly before when they were both being strangled.

I guess that in the end I got my wish to have my fans running at full power, I just wanted to see if there are future problems leaving this way.

    Hello design_guy,

You should not have problems with the fan rotating at high speed, with the exception that you can reduce the life cycle of the fan.

You can install software on the computer that will allow you to adjust the speed of the fan to the computer which may help you extend the life of the fans and give you a bit of control over them.

Something like SpeedFan should do the trick.
