  I'm helping a friend with a problem with its Satellite L850 - 1 5.

  No battery detected is report to Windows, and the light on the front of the machine of battery flashes orange slowly.

  Dear community peoples,

  I have a Toshiba Satellite L850-A925 for 6 months. And I have this annoying problem with the webcam.
  I installed all the drivers and even when I turn on the webcam application, it gives no error.
  The only problem, I don't see anything on the cam on my side.
  Just a black screen with a few stripes of color around moving more and there.
  If please suggest me a good solution for this or is this a hardware problem?
  I had attached the screenshot of what exactly Iam get when I turn on the webcam application or other applications using the webcam (Skype, Oovoo,...).

  Please help me on this and I'm hoping for a simple and effective solution.

  Since when did you notice this problem? I can't imagine that it occurs on the first day.
  In the specifications, I found the info that this machine has been preloaded with Win7 64 bit. Everything is OK with the factory settings was after the first start?

  Your motherboard is dead or one or two modules of memory are defective.
  If new modules of RAM don t help you, I guess that the motherboard must be replaced.

  I have this strange thing happening with my laptop...

  Now, you see, when I turn on and use only for daily homework, as the electronic control, facebook, work in microsoft office, I can work for hours and it will heat up normally like any laptop, and nothing will happen.

  But when I turn on things more big games, Dota 2, CoD 5 etc. it is starts to overheat and suddenly starts to lagg a bit and then finally after 15-20 minutes playing then my keybord warms more, my monitor stops. Just like that.

  My laptop doesn't stop down, only my screen goes black and I can still listen to music in the background... I thought it might be dust in the cooling system, I cleaned it, took it to Toshiba Service Center and they said it's all good... But now I still have the same problem...

  When I run any game, it starts to heat very quickly, game from lag and then the screen turns off.

  According to the specifications of the laptop your Satellite was shipped with WIN7 64-BIT Home Premium so I don't understand why you do not use this recovery image that includes all the necessary drivers and tools and utilities.

  I bought a Satellite L850-11 q earlier this month.

  Having a Windows 7 Prof 64 bit service pack 1 - license (and Win7 Home comes pre-installed), I formatted everything (including the recovery partition, because I tend to make my own backups).

  Of course, I downloaded all the 64-bit drivers available beforehand, but after installing all that I found this driver is still missing!

  I searched on the 'sister' - portable L855 page for compatible drivers, but could find none (reason: * not all pilots are on the L850-site *, for example of stack Bluetooth driver - I got 3 unknown devices after installing all the drivers-L850, both of them could be found on the site L855).

  My problem is that there is always an unknown device in the windows Device Manager.
  Aida64 (a system of monitoring/information, etc. - program) has identified the device to be the

  "* PCI Intel Panther Point PCH - Host Embedded Controller Interface 1 (HECI1) [C - 1]."

  AFAIK the L850-11 q was equipped with an Intel HM76 express chipset.
  Recommend to install the Intel chipset driver for this chipset.

  Have you installed another Win 7 on this laptop or are you using the system preinstalled by Toshiba?

  If the webcam is not listed in the device, as an unknown device, or as a Device Manager to imagine, then that would mean that the material was not recognized by the system, that means that there is a connection hurt tight between the webcam and the motherboard or the webcam is defective.

  What is the status of the webcam in Device Manager?
  Webcam is properly recognized?

  The webcam can be enabled and disabled in the BIOS.
  That's why I recommend you to check the BIOS settings.
  BIOS-> Advanced-> Configuration-> webcam system

  If his permit and if the webcam is properly recognized in Device Manager, I think that you must uninstall webcam once more.
  Then you must clean the registry using some tools like e.g. CCLeaner. It is a freeware software. By using this software you can remove some temporal files and can repair and clean the system registry.
