my sidebar on my desk moved somehow to the right, how I put on the bottom?

My sidebar for my desk top was still on the bottom, now it's on the right side, I don't like it here, how can I move this back down? I don't know if I clicked on something that moved by an accident or if my computer is going to crash, not sure, then what should I do to bring it down rather than it being on the right side of my screen?

Sidebar? Do you mean 'Sidebar' or 'to-do bar '?

Assuming that you mean that the taskbar, read on:

Although by default, the taskbar is displayed on the bottom of the screen,
It can be on any of the sides on what you prefer. To move any
side to side, simply click an unused portion and drag
where you want it. Don't forget to click inside it, not on the edge.
by clicking on the edge and dragging will resize not move.

If it does not move, it can be locked. In this case, right click on it
and uncheck "Lock the taskbar", then try again.

Moreover, with the screen monitors wide today, I prefer the taskbar
on the left or the right of the screen. I think that allows a better
use of real estate than have it at the bottom of screen.

The taskbar at the bottom of my PC are moved to the upper right side.

    How can I move it?

It also causes my window size to be only 90% of its normal size.

Right-click on the taskbar and make sure that 'Lock the taskbar' is unchecked.

Now left click on the task bar and hold down the mouse button as you drag to the bottom central area of your screen. The taskbar should snap into place along the bottom of your screen. It make take a few attempts so he can cooperate.
Once the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, right-click on it and select "Lock the taskbar". This will help prevent moving again.

    Unlock and move the taskbar

Once you unlock the taskbar, it is ready to move to any horizontal or vertical office edge.

    Taskbar

    View all

    To unlock the taskbar
    • Right click on a space empty in the taskbar. If a checkmark beside him doesn't lock the taskbar, the taskbar is locked. You can unlock it by clicking on lock the taskbar, which removes the check mark.

      Note

To lock the taskbar into place, right-click an empty space in the task bar, then click on lock the taskbar, so that the box is displayed.

Click on an empty space on the taskbar, and then hold down the mouse button, dragging the taskbar to one of the four sides of the office. Once the taskbar where you want, release the mouse button.

    See you soon.

  • Missing buttons from the bottom of the sidebar in Mail

On my iMac, by post, the button "+" at the bottom of the sidebar (used to create new mailboxes) disappeared.  The other buttons (which I don't remember functions) there also are no longer present.  While I can always create a new mailbox by using the drop down menus, these buttons are a convenience I woud like to have back.

So far, I tried to close/open the sidebar; Stop/Start Mail.  None of these actions corrected the problem.

Any ideas on how to restore the buttons?  Thank you!

The + button has been moved - to pause our cursor in high 'mailboxes.

  • I have iPad 2version 8.4.  Should I switch to 8.4.1 before moving on to the series of the 9.0 version?

I have not updated my iPad to the latest upgrades of version 6. I currently have version 8.4. Should I update the 8.4.1 version before moving on to the series of the 9.0 version?  Going to miss any important settings or changes if I go straight to 9.0? If everyone advises me to install all the missing versions, please can you me where I can find them?  I already know where to install version 9.0 and 9.2.

    Thank you

    1. No, and you can't.

    2 No.

    3. If you somehow find and force - install any intermediate version iOS, iPad will not turn on.

The red x is a mistake - it shows the location of an image that was not loaded.  Check this page for another example of messages with images - why are images on my warped computer so it is not on other computers?  Appear the many photos in this thread?

You should check the settings in two places for the same problem (but please note that cleaning malware & registry are also for symptoms such as this).

1 if you right-click on an image & select view the picture to make it appear then it indicates that you have this setting turned off normally.  To put the photos permanently in Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu [alt, t], and then select Internet options, Advanced tab. About two - thirds of the way to the bottom of the list is an article on Multimedia & its final entry is show pictures - the value of this check box.

2 see also the pictures are not displayed and you see a red X on the Web sites in Internet Explorer , please review, information on using Windows ActiveX filtering - this setting are in the menu Tools of IE that you can get to by pressing alt, t & then selecting the entry of ActiveX filtering to enable it or disable it.

  • Something I did accidentally (I think) caused the tabs in the window at the bottom of the screen to move to a sidebar arrangement. How can I restore it?

How can I reset these tabs to appear at the bottom of the screen? I noticed that when I develop the width of the sidebar, all my desktop icons get scrambled to different places and I have to manually put them back where they were.

You should be able to drag the Windows taskbar to its position at the bottom of the screen.
Better is to lock the taskbar via the context menu to avoid such accidental movement.

  • Moving documents between the download folder and another folder in Documents

I read this useful article on the basics for moving files, etc. between folders in El Capitan: OS X El Capitan: basics of file.  This article is useful, but it is not my problem.

I have a long list of Documents folders in the Finder.   So, every time I try to drag files from downloads of Documents, I would have a long distance to travel with my fingers until I come in my target folder, say, the Z folder at the bottom of the list of Documents.  But there is not enough space on my pad to keep dragging files with my finger all way to the Z folder.  So, I end up having to move the document to a folder to halfway (middle distance), and then drag again from there to the file target Z I want.  For this reason, I need cut & paste to move files between folders.

You know a simpler way to move files between folders?

I use Macbook Air with El Capitan.   Thank you.

Copy the files and then press Option key when pasting.
