  Okay, so I have problems with a full installation of Windows Vista (x 32).  I get the mode safe mode crcdisk.sys freeze with.  Normal mode is just stuck on a loading green bar slooow.

  Now, I've read countless sites on this issue, but nothing seemed to work.  All those who have problems had a pre-built system, or has been updated to XP.  I don't have that a facility tailor-made with nothing else on.  I know that said first thing would be to delete the c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys and pcmcia.sys, but I tried this several times and nothing starts later.

  2 x 2 GB of ram (I removed a stick for installation)
  Intel i5 processor

  I do not use a wireless card on this pc, ethernet only.

  If you have uninstalled Recovery Manager he probably removed the recovery of files in the recovery partition. When these files are not deleted download Recovery Manager will install. You will need a recovery media to boot from to restore the files and the recovery partition. If you do not have a recovery media you order from HP.

  As for the files you are trying to restore - if it's a backup of personal files, photos, etc. to the outside hard disk or DVD must be a file .exe inside these files, probably of Restore.exe or Recover.exe. Double click on the .exe will extract files to a folder on the hard drive of your laptop.
