    Hello Lowki11,

You can also try a System File Checker to see if you have corrupted system files.

    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any violation of the integrity and repair any damaged operating system files.

    Reboot your system.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows Narrator 8 - activated without reason Volume keys

    Hello

Im a new owner for the DELL XPS 12

No problems with my volume keys because they were used to control the volume

Turn on my laptop today and all a sudden volume key makes the screen flashes and the + volume button turns the Narrator. My hard volume keys have now no other function than the Narrator.

Is there a way I can disable the shortcut key?

(I'm not asking the disabling of the Narrator, I know, its ease of access, im asking how to disable this shortcut)

Hi, I had this problem myself on the Surface Pro 2, and it seems to be caused by the machine to think that the Windows key is held down.

Win + flight Up is the shortcut to start Narrator
Win + flight Down is the shortcut to take a screenshot, which reduces the brightness of your screen (the screenshots appear to be installed by default in ~ \Pictures\Screenshots)
What fixed it for me was simply touch the Windows key on the front of my camera a couple of times.
    Good luck everyone,

  • Windows 7 is constantly looking for other networks and drop connection

Original title: the upgrade of Windows 7 for XP

I first installed this OS a year ago to this date. Loved, absolutley was entrenched with how easy it was and just how 'worked '. I am a software developer myself and am happy to report all my IDEs, the server settings, etc. all worked like a charm. I had a little problem with VPN but it works with the Vista one (with some work) so I can't complain.

My problem and this is why I uninstalled windows 7 and will be EVER is back at it before it is solved the same problem 10 years ago. He keeps every 60 seconds looking for other networks or drop the connection no reason apparent. With windows XP, I could disable the Zero wireless and everything would be fine. However, with windows 7 if I turn the WLAN service nothing on this earth that will allow me to connect to it without a third-party application.

In the end I used a 3rd party app made by the chipset driver and it still failed (but had limited success).

It is a known problem with windows operating systems. This just "does not work" at all. It's a pain in the thigh and is the reason why people are saying that the wireless is terrible for gaming. I know that isn't true since I have never had a fall with windows XP or my dual boot SuSe OS. 3rd parties even tried to fix this for microsoft in creating the WLAN and Vista Antilag optimizer which all fail for windows 7.

And just to show you how apparent is this bug...

    customer complaints

It seems to somehow keep seeps through the cracks with every version of windows. Simply because I know that this wont never be resolved after 10 years ive thrown my copy in the trash and advising all my loved ones to stay on XP. I used to think... "they'll fix" but quite honestly, I think that microsoft is tone deaf to it.

With regard to upgrading my firmware on my router is concerned, I have programmed my own. I used 3 different routers. My drivers are all up to this date for my card wireless on this box. I used XP drivers with slightly better results but remains unacceptable. I was running with a hackintosh and vmware fusion rather than deal with these headaches after work.

Maybe im being a bit too critical, but make you pay back for a BONE which does not have everything because of XP.

After buying a WNDR3700 N600 top double band brand new brand of the router Netgear power line she didn't always.

2 solid ways fixed my issue.

the network of windows 7 reason fails

One, I had to turn off the service navigation computer in administrative services as noted above.

Two, I had to turn off the power save feature on the usb network adapters.

I have a new Dell under Windows 7 Home Premium.  I'm unable to download Itunes.  I am trying to download the version for Windows 7 64-bit systems, but when I click to run the software I get the following error message:

I installed other programs of the disc and download without problem.  However, I am also having a problem installing update the following windows: 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 1 (SP1).  When I tried to download it I get the following message is displayed:

  • Windows Update back constantly with error 80073712 when trying to update?

Recently, I reset my computer, which was running Windows 8.1 at the time, which led him back to Windows 8. I tried to update in order to re - install Windows 8.1 but I get this message:

After you click install now, I have this message:

I tried various methods such as running the troubleshooter, running the DISM tool (which cam) upward to an error and uninstall my third-party antivirus. Is there another way I can remedy this?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

I understand that the computer has been set back Windows 8 Windows 8.1 you did reset. This happens whenever you do Refresh or reset the Windows 8.1. If you want to keep Windows 8.1, you must use the product key for Windows 8.1.

As far as the Windows updates are concerned, I suggest you perform refresh as you tried possible steps already to nothing does not.

    To refresh your PC

    1. Drag from the right edge of the screen, tap settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you use a mouse, point to the upper right of the screen, move the pointer of the mouse down, click settingsand then click change PC settings .)

    2. Press or click Update and recovery, and then press or click on recovery.

    3. Under Refresh your PC without affecting your files, tap or click on Get started.

    4. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Warning: Apps that you have installed Web sites and DVD will be removed. The applications provided with your PC and applications that you have installed in the Windows store will be resettled. Windows puts a list of apps removed on your desktop after you refresh your PC.

Please refer to the article below: see the section refresh your PC without affecting your files

How to refresh, reset or restore your PC

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

    Thank you.

  • window appears on the extended screen, but the screen isn't there anymore so can't get to the window (2nd screen on laptop is only when it is connected to the desktop)

Hi... interesting problem. I use my laptop computer on a desk with a second screen and moving.

The last time I was using my laptop on the desk, I brought an application (Quicken) on the second screen and now when I start it up it displays on-screen extended even if I use the standalone laptop. I can't demand because it appears in the second screen and I can't get it back to the main screen. I even rebooted and it seems to 'remember' where is was the last time.

Any thoughts on how to get it back (I know I can reconnect the second screen and move it back, but what about the time when I'm not near my office and want to access an application that was last used on the extended screen.)

    Argh...

Thanks for your thoughts, I assume that there is a simple key sequence to make it visible on the main screen once I can't find it anywhere.

    Kind regards
    Lex Gitter

Very late reply, I have the same problem and I solve it hovering over the window you want in the taskbar when the preview window displays a right-click on it.  Select optimize.  The window will appear on your screen.  No, you can enter the window and its size down, it stays on the current view

  • Cannot access my profile. (Windows XP SP3) Problem apparently because of Windows Installer.

I can't connect to my profile, apparently because of a problem with Windows Installer.  It starts to open a session and when I try to access my documents I get a message unable to access my profile and if I'm logged a temporary profile: "Details: access to refusedowever, everything seems to be there, except for my usual wallpaper and I can access my files."  In the msconfig Services tab, Windows Installer shows as stopped. I tried to reinstall, but it won't download because of the error of windows install. The keyboard started to do fun things like key assignment got confused. My admin profile works except for the Windows Installer problem which stops remove me or update Java. I checked for malware and viruses (no) run "sfc/scannow" ad "chkdsk /f.  All system restore points are missing.  If I can access my files, the system asks me my first and last name and initials prior to providing access. I have now the temp profile open in safe mode and note that a file that I saved when you previously logged into the temp profile has been saved successfully to the new folder that I created. In addition, when you are connected to normal mode, I found that I couldn't access to Mozilla Firefox, open MS Internet Explorer and click on a link to something (can't remember what) and Mozilla Firefox open as usual.

Things that I did just before this problem appeared: installed and run Malwarebytes and Superantispyware, tried to update Java and VLM Media Player using AVAST! interface, and then without using AVAST! interface. Both failed, but something else I've updated OK. Tried to download and install Windows Installer 4.5 (without success). So I then tried to repair/reinstall command of the race by using regedit and regserver command screen.

I wonder whether to follow the instructions in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756. However, as it asks me to back up the registry before you edit it. As all my previous restore points disappeared, I don't trust to back up the registry. How can I back up the registry of my external hard drive?

You have a damaged or corrupted user profile.  A way to recover from this condition is to perform a system restore, but since you have no restore points, you will need to recover with another method.  The usual way to recover is to create a new user profile and then copy the data from the damaged to the new profile user profile.  This procedure is not usually difficult.  Choose from the selection below:

"How to recover damaged Windows XP user profile"

"How to copy a user profile data damaged to a new stars in Windows XP"

Almost always, corruption of the profiles is accompanied, otherwise caused corruption in the file system.  At an ideal time, it is strongly recommended to perform a 'chkdsk' operation with the "/ R" or "Repair" option.  Note that this operation will take place at the next reboot before Windows loading completely, cannot be interrupted and can take more than a few hours depending on the size/speed of hard disk and the number of errors found...  Sometimes, this in-and-of-itself can solve the problem.
