Mystery in the C drive folder

Hello

I have a laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and my partner has a Netbook with Windows 7 Starter.

I noticed a strange folder that contains several other files on the C drive of the Netbook.  I enclose two images of screenshot of the main folder and the files it contains.  These files is not accessible - access denied.  I have no similar folder in the C drive of my laptop.

Can someone please tell me what these files are and what they serve?

The folder is a temporary folder / cache is created by an installation. To delete the folder, the owner of the folder and the content, and then proceed to deletion.

  • New itunes install. All the songs are on an external hard drive. A lot of songs do not show up in itunes, but they are in the folder on the external drive.

This seems to be a common problem:

Recently I had to reinstall Win 10 & then itunes. All the songs are on an external HD iTunes does not show a large number of songs that are in the folder on the external drive. I copied the .itl to the new itunes folder. I also tried holding down - from itunes shift - select a library. Any ideas how to be able to see the songs in the itunes on the hard drive folder in the itunes library?

    Thanks in advance

    Steve

See make a library of portable split. Have you copied the correct .itl file, or should you connect an external hard disk .itl file? If you can find the correct .itl, it should have all your songs and playlists. See the empty/corrupted after upgrade/crash iTunes library when the library has been altered for the first time with the new system. If you have to start creating your new library in an iTunes folder to the root of the external drive and move all the media inside... \iTunes\iTunes Media before adding to the library.

  • CS6 with users on another drive folder

I installed the users on the E: drive folder / to store all my files on a drive with more space, while C: / is on an SSD that contains the Windows 7 operating system. CS6 is installed on the C: / drive

I have problems with a lot of programs CS6, each with different questions:

-Photoshop shows the problem with the drive working (I found a solution to relocate it to the E: / drive instead of C: /)

    -inDesign crashes before opening

-programs can be open when I run as administrator

I have already created a junction between C: / and E: / but that did not fix the problem. I amazingly couldn't find answers to my problem, please help.

  • How to get the Favorites after resetting my computer? firefox saved on the external hard drive folder

I had to reset my computer because I downloaded a sort of hidden adware that downloads new adware permanently, which makes my computer unusable. Adware ill-conceived, lol.

I saved the folder of firefox mozilla whole folder of files (x 86) programs on an external hard drive. I thought that if I just copied this file on the computer, my favorites would be sympathetic to it. all the Favorites are gone.

bookmarks are not stored in the folder of firefox? is it possible to recover? It's worth years of bookmarks I need for work.

any help is greatly appreciated, thank you. I tried the suggestions that others had offered for similar problems.

Your Firefox personal data is not stored in the Firefox program folder, but are stored in the Firefox profile folder that is located in the AppData\Roaming\ folder.

    • C:\Users\ < user > < profile > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

If you do not save this profile folder then your bookmarks and other personal data is lost.

  • My pc under Win 8.1. The system was asked to scan the hard drive (c). Once this is completed all the files in the sent folder went. Help!

Run on a Dell PC (Win 8.1) for the last year or two. So far have had no problems with Thunderbird (latest version) until today (04/04/2015). For some unknown reason, my PC "action center" has suggested I should scan the 'C' drive for potential problems. It is worth noting that I was not aware of any problem of system before this message and I have no idea what were potential problems. Then, like a rooky with computers, I followed the rules and scanned the drive as suggested.

The analysis took about 20 minutes to complete, followed by a normal startup. Everything was fine, except when I open Thunderbird Email, I observed that all messages/files (an estimated 1000) in the sent folder had been removed. All other Email TB cases appear normal and I can send new Emails and receive same OK.

A test Email has worked with the file/message sent goes in the sent folder.

Anyway, is allowing to recover the loss of files/messages sent and why the sweep of the 'C' drive would create this problem?

Please provide the procedures to recover even at your earliest.

    Kind regards

  • Finder or by default in the view extended folder on hard drive external

I'm trying to understand why, when I open an external window of Finder on my hard drive, it always expands to display a specific folder I used months ago. I do not know Finder using the default views and I can't determine how to reset back to the view of the root of the drive.

    Thank you.

    Hi leftysrevenge!

I can certainly understand not wanting the Finder of an external drive window to keep opening to a folder that has been used months ago because I wouldn't mine to display that way either.  No worries, there are a few steps here to get the default view has changed on this issue.  Follow these steps here and he should be able to be changed for this external drive:

Open the Finder, click Display > Display Options > a window will appear to select your display preferences, make your selection here > and if possible use the button "Use as default" to maintain this point of view.

The "Use as Defaults" button may be grey, if the format of the external drive is not OS X Extended.

    Enjoy your day!

  • Library/files in the folder on the external drive

The question is, when you import media to a folder on an external hard drive in a library on the same drive, which doubles the amount of space on the drive that is based on the size of the original files, so I choose the copy Option in the import window vs the leave in Place Option? I know, it should be obvious, don't tear me a new, I'm just checking?

What kind of file is it? It is a structure of camera file? If so, you will need to copy, and the media are double. If it's just a folder from the Finder with multimedia files in it, the media splits using hard links. It appears in both places, but only use space in a folder.

  • Problems with folder permissions after replacing the hard drive

    Hello

Recently, I replaced the hard drive on my mac.  Already before the replacement, I got the files that I had locked.  Now I'm unable to open the file.  I get the error "the folder 'nom_de_dossier' can not be opened because you don't have permission to see its content".  I looked at the permissions for the folder and everything he says is fetch.  I ran a command in the Terminal and for one of the records in question, that's what I see-

    drwxr-x - 13 501 501 442 5 July 2013 MG

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Running OS X El Capitan

    10.11.4 version

    Try this first:

Start the mac all holding the SHIFT key, it is slow, connection, and then select Restart from the Apple menu.

    When this does not help:

Reset password utility in the recovery Partition:

    1. Restart your computer from the recovery partition.
    2. Open disk utility and run a repair permissions on your boot volume (in ElCapitan click the first aid tab). Once this completed, close disk utility. We do this for good measure.
    3. Open a Terminal from the Utilities menu. Type in resetpassword and select your user (NOT administrator system/root) account in the menu drop-down.
    4. Click on the Reset button at the bottom of the window ACL section and Reset the folder permissions.
    5. Exit the utility password and return to the main recovery menu.
    6. On your keyboard, press + Q and restart your computer. It is very important that you don't hold down the power button to exit the recovery session, or the ACL Reset to occur.

  • I put the folder from the HARD drive to another HARD drive?

    Hello

on my laptop, I have 2 hard drives, the first is vista C:, the second is DATA E:, if I click on DATA E: there is a folder called HDDRecovery and R10061EN.tag
The HDDrecovery folder is a lot of files and folders, one of them is readme and readme in the file is this warning

    Folder of HARD disk recovery

    Caveat!

Do not remove or edit these files and folders.
Any change can damage the HARD drive recovery system!

So I ask myself, can I put files in E: DATA with the HDDRecovery folder and the R10061EN.tag file?

C: Vista has only exempt from 74.3 GB 21 GB and DATA E: has 67.9 GB free of 73.2 Go so can put files in DATA E:?

Of course, you can record what you want on E: but do not remove or change the folder of SD recovery.

In your case I would first create the recovery discs if you didn t do it. Do not delete something on before E:. Then you can do what you want because you have the discs.

  • How to create a new folder on the C drive

    I have Windows XP

Although you can follow these instructions, usually the place to create documents and folders is in My Documents (just so that you have all your documents created by the user in the same place).

I suspect that the reason why the instructions you have put my site in the root of the drive is to make it easier for the person who writes the directions when they eventually save you from things here.

Click Start, click My Documents.  This opens a Windows Explorer window, displaying the contents of your My Documents folder.

Depending on how your computer is set up (and which version of Windows you are using), you can see a blue column on the left side of the window with the title "file and folder tasks.»  See this image: http://onlineitpro.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/mydocs.png

If you have the blue column, simply click on the link that says "make a new folder".  A new folder appears at the bottom of the list in the right pane with the mention "New folder" highlighted.  Just type my website and press Enter and the new folder will be renamed my Web site.

If the blue column does not appear, simply click on file (upper-left), and then New and then folder.  It is exactly the same only by clicking on the "New folder" link in the column of file and folder tasks.

If you want to follow directions exactly, after you click Start > My Documents, just type C:\ in the address bar and click on the Green Go button.  This will change the display of your My Documents folder to the location where the instructions as you put the folder.  Then follow the rest of the instructions above.

Which folder or file not hibernation process store open files or programs on the hard drive?

Which folder or file not hibernation process store open files or programs on the hard drive?

    Hello

The Hiberfil.sys hidden system file is located in the folder root of the drive where the operating system is installed. The Windows Kernel Power Manager reserves this file when you install Windows. The size of this file is approximately equal to the amount of memory (RAM) is installed on the computer.
