N-router setup Linksys with 2Wire 3600HGV

AT & T recently forced me to abandon their DSL and get Internet U-Verse.

They also made me buy their wireless router, which has proved to be a 3600HGV 2Wire obsolete, heavily used, which has no 802.11n capability.  Apparently untold thouands of subscribers have been put in this unenviable position.

I need of 802.11n because I have IP cameras wireless in my security system that communicate with a local NAS drive and they benefit from the extra speed.

I have complained about this situation on the AT & T support forums and I was told that it was not a problem, I could connect to my Linksys previous 802.11n router, I used when I had DSL in a the 3600HGV LAN ports, turn off the 3600HGV wireless and use my Linksys for my WiFi system and have fully functional 802.11n capability.

Naturally, it did not work.  AT & T washed their hands and said I need to contact Linksys for help on the configuration of the router.

I have a couple of low-end consumer routers, I can use to do this, the WRT120N and E800, neither of which are distinguished units, but each worked well and securely for me in my system at different times - and I think they're both identical advanced configuration menus.

Can someone tell me how to proceed?  I'm sure it's a very common problem and there may be a FAQ on how to do it.

Thank you!

I got a modem Comcast/Xfinity upgrade. Xfinity X 1 modem/router is compatible with the Airport Extreme? How it should be configured to maintain my wireless network?

Whenever you change the modem or modem/router on a network, AirPort Extreme will be reset to the default settings and then set it up again to work properly with the new modem. For this he would be...

Turn on AirPort Extreme for a few minutes... If it is not already turned on

Hold in the reset button on the back of the AirPort Extreme for 7-8 seconds, then release it.

Allow a minute for the AirPort Extreme restart to a slow, flashing amber light status

Make sure that an Ethernet cable connects to one of the four LAN <-->Ethernet ports on the modem/router on port WAN "O" on AirPort Extreme

To start the Setup program, click the WiFi icon at the top of the screen on your Mac and are looking for a list of the new AirPort base station

Just below that, click directly on the AirPort Extreme and then follow the prompts for configuration "Wizard".

When you configure AirPort Extreme once again, you can use the same wireless network name and the same password that you used with AirPort Extreme with the 'old' modem, if you wish, or use a new wireless network name and password

  • E2500 router communicates only with HP printer cable.

I have a HP color LaserJet 2605dn printer and router e2500. I decided to run an Ethernet cable from the router to the printer instead of via the USB port of the laptop that works fine for a couple of years.

Is the green light on the router would be flashing quick or light yellow on the printer. Guess there is a communication problem. After some reading material at random on Web sites and messages, I manually changed the IP address of the printer: 192.168.1.110 (that is outside the range of the DHCP users (6) quantity, which starts at 192.168.1.100)

Leave the configuration window Panel > devices Printers & I added a new "Standard TCP/IP Port" to match the one I put manually (192.168.1.110).

I varied results when I ping this new IP address while that the yellow light on the Ethernet port on the printer flashes quickly. Sometimes I will have 4 packets that have been sent in the ping also received, sometimes none are received, sometimes 1 and sometimes 2 packets are received. For example, ping results are contradictory and I don't know why that should be.

I guess that none of my configurations 'Basic Wireless Settings' and "Wireless Security" have an impact here. After all, I'm trying only to communicate with my printer wirelessly via my laptop to the printer via a network cable. Also, I'm not a very technical person. I managed to get this far, but I'm at a loss for what keeps my router to communicate with the printer of mine. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Using the printer management page, make sure you on the JetDirect Automatic for networking information. If your automatic support of networking, it must acquire an IP address from the router if the LAN cable is in good working condition. Make a print on the printer configuration page to see what IP address it acquired from the router.

If you decide you want to put a static IP address on the printer, make sure you on the JetDirect information
Manual and instead use 192.168.1.110 tends in the poole DHCP address, try using 192.168.1.26. You will need configure the printer driver in windows accordingly to point to the IP address.

Collate support method because it might be and need the firmware, for example.

recently purchased a samsung NX30 camera which came with lightroom 5, after several hours of searching on Google I got it setup properly with the right camera raw to be able to access my raw images. I found that my old laptop is very slow during the processing of hundreds of images that I usually take on a weekly basis.  I bought a new faster laptop, but when I looked for the cd with the software of series and I couldn't find in the mess of Christmas.  I downloaded a trial version of lightroom and got, it works on my new laptop. Is there a way to access the serial number of my version already installed and insert it in the version of track to make it work for me?

    Myron

If you take the time to register to your original with Adobe installation (which most people do not), you can log in to your Adobe account and get the serial number. If you use a Windows computer and still have access to the old computer where Lightroom is installed, you can do the following:

    1. in the window folder options, make sure that you are able to see hidden folders.

    2. go to the C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Lightroom folder.

    3. use Notepad to open the file, Lightroom 5.0 Registration.lrreg

You will be able to retrieve your serial number of this file.

  • Not active Ethernet E3200 ports if daisy chained with 2Wire modem/router?

I have a 2Wire 2700G - B DSL modem/4 port router provided by ATT. The WiFi range has a problem so I had a router Linksys E3200 to extend range. I ran the cable Cat5 100 feet across the House and connected the linksys E3200 Cat5 between one of the 4 Ethernet ports on my 2Wire and the Port of 'Internet' from the Linksys 3200. I put in place and seem to have a stronger second network access this router wireless (although it is not a Repeater, I alternate between two wifi networks as I walk home with my iphone).

I plugged in the Linksys E3200 ports WIRED devices wired Ethernet and they are not recognized by my PC as the devices connected to the 2Wire ethernet ports are. My PC is plugged into the port of 2Wire as well.

How can I activate the 4 ethernet ports on the 3200 to be additional ports to my home network as the 4 on the 2Wire?

You don't need another router.  One you have will work fine.  However, you will need to go the Netgear forum for assistance.  Your Cable Guy doesn't know what he's talking about.  If you really have an IP address conflict, you will need to find it.  To help, make sure that all devices are set to DHCP and do not have a static IP address.   I'm assuming that the router is a router 4 ports.

I bought a router e4200v2 about a year, but somehow, it got lost in my computer room and I don't a not localize until quite recently, just after I bought a new iMac running Yosemite. The new iMacs don't have an optical drive, so I downloaded the Setup.app since the support site of Linksys without problem.

However, when I run the Setup.app, he starts a Setup Smart Wi - fi but stalls when it comes to about 25% of fact, with a message "could not find your router." I called Linksys, and even if this isn't their period of free support they gave me a free call since I'd just take the machine out of the box.

We couldn't get the Setup.app to work, so they talked me through a manual installation. I can now access the net of my Wired iMac or any of the various devices wireless around the House (telephone, laptop, etc.).

BUT it was only after I hung up I have realzed that the different functions available from the diddn t Smart Wifi configuration (for example, guest access) appear to be available.

I don't want to pay for a support call, but it's really irritating. The Setup.app still does not work, and I see no way to not get LLA.

Can anyone suggest a solution? Am I missing something simple?

    Thank you.

I do not recommend the use of the software to configure the router in your case.

On the contrary, to connect to the router and use the link below to access and configure.

  • As a router WRT54GS cascading with IP fixed address block

    Hello

I read several threads on the routers in cascade and the Knowledge Base, but none seems to fix my script with a router with fixed IP address block.

My current setup is an ADSL circuit with a block of 8 fixed IP addresses. Of them the first xx.xx.xx.137 is assigned to interface the router, the second xx.xx.xx.138 for the router itself WAN xx.xx.xx.139/140/141/142/143 leaving as usable IP addresses. Connected to the ADSL circuit is that a D-Link DSL-G604T router with NAT disabled to allow IP addresses to be assigned to my web servers and ftp. Of course, DHCP is disabled on the LAN interface.

Unfortunately, the transmitter wireless on this router is defective so I would my Linksys WRT54GS (Firmware v1.50.6) D-Link router cascade so that I can use it (with active DHCP) as a point of access for multiple wireless devices.

This thought through to logically I've named WAN 54GS with one of the xx.xx.xx.140 to static IP address available, a subnet mask 255.255.255.248 and the door entry xx.xx.xx.138. I left the LAN settings like the beach 192.168.1.xxx and DHCP active. I then connected the interface WAN of the 54GS to one of the LAN connections on the D-Link with a straight ethernet cable.

I can connect to the admin 54GS via a direct ethernet connection and wireless interface but not to the internet.

I can ping that is the xx.xx.xx.140 of the interface wan of the 54GS since a laptop computer connected wireless but not the IP address of the gateway of the network xx.xx.xx.138. D-Link router.

Am I missing some other settings in the router. Especially in the routing section advanced? I guess that the device must be set to a router rather than the bridge, but if there are parameters of dynamic routing?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks Brickmonkey,

Just thought I would update this post. I tried from you suggestions, but to no avail. The frustration I did a hard reset of the router D-Link and set it up again from scratch and... Hey presto it now works.

I can only think that there may have been some settings left from when the router has been initially implemented for Nat and I had configured port forwarding. In any case it now works OK then thank you very much for your answer.

  • What wifi router works best with an iMac

Please be nice to me I don't really know what I'm talking about, but really really need help.  We have an iMac with wifi connections and currently run a cisco linksys e1000, who is five years old at least, and I'm sure is very tired, either completely obsolete.  We have a lot of buffering when using our Apple TV and someone recommended to get a

ASUS RT-N66U - 900Mbps router dual band Wireless-N Gigabit LAN/WAN, 2 x USB, printing FTP UPnP Server VPN, IPv6 to replace the Cisco.  It will work with our IMAC?  Do we need a separate thing called a modem.  If it won't work not please can any kind person recommend a router to update that works.

    Thank you very much

    Vicki

Use the Apple Airport Extreme Base Station.  The modem is what connects the router to your cable service.

  • SPA9000 Setup problem with FXS ports

SPA9000 PBX, configured with two VoIP providers implemented voice-> 1/2 line parameters. A telephone is connected to the FXS 1 (or 2 FXS) port and able to choose the right VoIP provider when making outgoing calls.

SPA9000 question is that once the outgoing call is established, does not meet the other numbers composed for the extension of the called party number. • Reserve an IP address on a router from Linksys E1200

Hi, I'm putting our Outback Mate 3 controller with a fixed ip address and the port forwarding on a router Linksys E1200.  So we can check on our wide network remotely.  I put in the DHCP reservation page and enter the ip address and mac address but when I go to save, it shows the hexadecimal value is incorrect.  Configuration of the IP address on the 3 Mate, it can only 192.168.001.xxx and reserving the address on the Linksys, it only allows reserve 192.168.1.xxx.  These are not values?  Any advice?

Yes, they are the same. If it shows the hexadecimal value then most likely there to talk about the address.which of mac is in hexadecimal. Make sure the format matches and no additional spaces etc.
