Natural zoom key ergonomic keyboard 4000 can be customized to scroll in particular form?

Hello

I recently bought natural ergonomic Keyboard 4000 and I managed to install hardware driver also Microsoft Mouse and keyboard Centre.
I noticed that I can disable the zoom key in Microsoft Mouse and keyboard Center but could not find anything on the customization, but as I translate documents using Microsoft Word, I really need this key to scroll indicator in Microsoft Word, so I can move quickly between the lines.
I would really appreciate if someone could help me solve this problem because I bought this keyboard particularly to capture and translate and it would be a loss to me if the key cannot be customized.

Thanks in advance

  • In Win 7 keys on the Microsoft Natural ergonomic Keyboard 4000, Firefox & Thunderbird quick launch only throw in the toolbar, without opening the program, then blurred

Although these keys to quick launch on this keyboard worked fine on this computer Windows XP, when I switched to Windows 7 64 bit, they started having this problem, but only with Firefox and Thunderbird. If I program these keys to open other programs, they do not have the problem. Therefore, something Firefox/Thunderbird, Win7 64-bit compatibility and software of this keyboard (latest version).

When I press one of the keys to quick launch on this programmed keyboard for Firefox/Thunderbird, they display a rectangle of program in the taskbar only, but no program opens on the screen. When I move the mouse over this rectangle in the taskbar, the program opens immediately, but to focus.

  • BUG: buttons assets my natural ergonomic keyboard 4000 start all programs as priority "below normal".

As the title says. All programs started with the departure of NEK 4000 as 'Below normal' priority, as seen in the Manager of tasks. When I run these programs to their shortcuts, they begin to 'Normal' priority

I don't see a way to change this setting in the system of intellitype keyboard (or mouse).

    I guess it's a BUG.

If this isn't the case, I need advice on what could cause this and how to fix it.

    Thanks in advance.
    -Rich

I did further research and found that it is Task Scheduler which sets the priority to itype.exe and ipoint.exe running, because they are launched from there.

There are 2 spots each which are run from the Task Scheduler.

    Microsoft_MKC_Logon_Task_itype.exe

    Microsoft_Hardware_Launch_itype_exe

    Microsoft_MKC_Logon_Task_ipoint.exe

    Microsoft_Hardware_Launch_ipoint_exe

    See this article.

    http://bdbits.WordPress.com/2010/04/29/setting-a-scheduled-task-process-priority/

When they moved tasks MKC to logon from the registry to the Task Scheduler, (they have did this when they created the center of the mouse and keyboard), they kept the same less than normal priority as launch tasks.

I can't say with certainty whether it was intentional or not.

I check mine are defined in the same way (below normal). I do not use a Microsoft keyboard, so I saw no problem.

I tested the change and he starts to normal priority

I just changed the MKC logon tasks as others ran below normal in previous versions

  • Microsoft Natural ergonomic keyboard 4000 is incompatible with Windows 7

When I type a letter, I receive a letter and a number (ex: I type "s", the computer prints "s7"). I tried redownloading drivers, but I get an error message that this keyboard is incompatible with Windows 7 and it wont let me start the CD. I looked on the MS site for a fix, which is there, and I downloaded it, but it did not work. I am always told the keypad and the software are incompatible. I went through this process 3 times and now I'm frustrated that I spent $80.00 on a MS product that says that the site of MS is compatible with Windows 7, but it doesn't help with this computer.

  • Coffee spilled on my ergonomic keyboard 4000 MS. v1 and now nothing works.

I have it rincer rinse with plenty of water, takes off all keys and them rinsed or dried. They all feel good. Use an air hose and blew the 'stuff '. Left in an oven dry very low temp for several hours. Now there are no signs of liquid, but nothing works. When I plug it into the USB port, it looks for and loads the driver, so that he knows the keyboard exists. I have a led of led on on the numeric keypad enter but I can't seem to turn off. Another light on the lock indicator F, but I can't be a stop. But not a single key will work.

Today, I bought a new Microsoft 4000 ergonomic keyboard. Can someone tell me how to remove the plastic lip that triggers the edge before (palmrest) about an inch? Thank you.

Turn the keyboard on my knees (the lip will be on the lap), so it does not slip. There are three clips on the underside of the lip, pull the lip evenly and voila! Hope it works; He has done for me, by trial and error.

  • Natural 4000 ergonomic keyboard that some keys do not work

I have natural 4000 ergonomic keyboard for about a year now on Vista 32 bit. The keys P, [---],--------do not work (using keyboard on the screen so you may be wondering). Just downloaded and reinstalled the latest drivers and still does not work. It's a software thing or my keyboard was just wrong?

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Hi Savan,

Thanks for the reply, I would have thought that in a first time. I advanced and tried on a laptop and the same keys still don't work.

So assuming that the keyboard was already broken, I advanced and open. The fact that I learned a lot about the anatomy of a keyboard. Inside are four layers the rubber part were the keys strike and 3 layers of plastic, so did a quick inspection and noticed some dirt. Used some compressed air blower but the difficult part was cleaning between the 3 layers of plastic, I used a clean and dry cloth in the interval wiping and focusing on letters that were not work. While the keyboard is plugged in so I can test it and see if its working. And guess what, it WORKED. Following cleaning and re-assembled the keyboard. And works very well since.

I hope this info helps others, sometimes we think air powder top is enough to clean the keyboard, but a few times can get average dirt under these layers of plastic.

    Thank you!
