NB200: BSOD when installing Win XP in AHCI mode

Good evening

I am trying to install xp on my nb200.

I have already installed disable the ahci in the Bios, but it is rather slow...

If I change the ahci in the bios mode (compatible... ahci) I get a blue screen and reboots xp...

I installed the driver for intel 82801 (ich7) but it doesn't work!

Maybe I chose the wrong...

If some can help me...

You need to install the driver for XP ACHI, can be downloaded from Intel, I don't know who wrote the Toshiba Driver (I'm running Windows 7).

I followed the procedure with F6 for the SATA controller and the Intel(r) ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E SATA RAID Controller has been selected.
Then he began to copy the files as usual, but shortly after order while he was the GUI I got BSOD and would not continue due to protected operating system. The CD was tested on another computer and it worked very well.

I also use Acronis to make backups, and there is a CD that I can start on and restore from an external drive.
This CD will not start on the computer, it has been tested on another computer, he worked were very good. It's as if the CD/DVD drive cannot read it.
I would be grateful if someone could please tell me where is the problem.

Would it be in the BIOS there is a setting that must be 'twisted '?
    If yes where?

    Thank you
    John

Are you sure you are using the correct SATA driver? Check it!

The BIOS must not be twisted, but it would be interesting to know if the same problem occurs if you select the compatibility mode in the BIOS (so you do not need a SATA driver).
If the same error occurs, it s a problem the CD/DVD player and if not it s bad driver SATA.

I have a new L300-1AP and would like to intall XP Pro but when I try it I get the stop message 0x0000007b.

Made a new installation disc integrated with all updated sata drivers, I still get the message. I'm not sure about how I would install drivers of third party on the F6 function because it has not a diskette and cany to find how to do the same thing in a CD anywere.

I appreciate that we should all try to use the vista OS that came with it, but it is a problem of compatibility with older software that I use.

    Can anyone help please?

In the Microsoft Knowledge Base is an article about it:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3ben-us%3B324103&x=17&y=8

I think that there is something wrong with the SATA drivers. My Satellite L300 works with XP without problems or BSOD when installing.

The SATA drivers are in this package, and the Intel Storage Manager you can download on the Toshiba site.
You can create your own installation with nLite (http://www.nliteos.com/) disc.
If I have integrated the SATA drivers, you do not have to press F6. The HARD drive will be automatically recognized.

  • Blue screen when installing Win XP Pro on the Satellite A100-211

    Hi all.

I'm started to get really desperate here! I just bought my new Satellite A100-211 and now I want to install my own copy of Windows XP Professional (as the laptop comes with XP Home). But, when I try to boot from my Win Xp Pro CD (with no SP1 or SP2 integrated), I get a blue screen of the STOP just as the installation application reached the phase "the installation program starts Windows! The STOP message says something about a file named "pci.sys".

I don't know what the problem is or how to install XP Pro! It should be so simple! I even tried the SATA drivers from intel and load the Windows XP Pro install the program installation (F6) with a floppy, but I always get the same blue screen at the same stage of the installation.

Can someone help me please? Can someone explain how to install Win XP Pro on this laptop?

Urgent help to install Win XP on a laptop Toshiba L750.

I tried Tosibha support and they will not help unless I pay a fee.

So now I'm stuck with this laptop which is useless unless some experts out there.

Can tell me how to install Win XP on the laptop?

I've never heard of it but first I have to say that this laptop was not delivered with Win XP and so maybe there's no direct support for this OS on this laptop Toshiba.

Second, if you want to install Win XP Add SATA driver to the Win XP CD or installation Setup because new specifications to support the new type of controller SATA HDD and this controller has the SATA drivers that are NOT part of the Win XP.

You should check this FAQ from Toshiba:

  • TouchSmart 300 Crash when installing Win 7 OS

    Hi all

I have a HP TouchSmart 300-1025. It came pre-installed with Windows 7 (Home) 64-bit. I have repeatedly tried to install Win 7 (home) 32 bit. Whenever the system is close to complete the installation of the OS, I get a blue screen that indicates very briefly on the screen. From what I see during his momentary appearance, mentions blue screen and memory dump physical. I can't the system to complete the installation of Win 7 (home) 32-bit. The collision process is repeated. Anyone would be able to provide some useful tips? This system is not designed to receive one other than its image as a stock OS install? I have a hardware problem? I run a diagnostic check in the bios. All controls of spend. I would appreciate help, if none is available.

    Thank you for your time.

    Hello dendriform:

Of course it goes crashing, you can not install software for Windows 7 32 bit on a 64-bit operating computer you need to stick with Windows 7 64 bit software there is a big difference in OS OK. If you want to run the older version of the software on your 64-bit Windows 7 computer you can always but not all software work can you get grade Windows 7 home 64 bit for Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and once that is downloaded will go to microsoft website and download windows xp mode. These computers are not 32-bit computers. That's your problem, and that's why it crashes. Back to Windows 7 home 64 bit software. As you cannot install software 64-bit on a 32-bit computer with a change of 3d parts of computer hard drives and cards that never need to change the.

  • BSoD when installing driver display on Satellite P200D - 11 L

I just installed Windows 7 and everything works fine but I decided to install the drivers of Toshiba and when I was installing the display driver (for ATI mobility radeon HD 2600) I've got the so-called 'Blue screen of death '. Then every time that windows starts, he gets the same blue screen. Windows start repair corrected this by using the system restore.
I think that windows 7 installed a different driver and they interfere with each other. The other driver works fine for now.

I also tried to uninstall everything first, but then would not even to begin the installation.
So, what should I do? I think it's fine, but I want to ask someone with more experience first.

    Hello

You what version of Windows 7, 32-bit or 64-bit?
The Toshiba page shows only a tested Windows 7 32-bit driver and it should work on the laptop.

You can also post the exact code of BSOD? Maybe the Microsoft Knowledge Base can provide an answer for this code?

  • Satellite A300 BSOD when installing Windows XP

Bought a new Satellite A300 that ships with Vista and a load of other rubbish.
Set the BIOS to boot from the installation CD of Windows XP, but just after loading the drivers and files and just before
from Windows XP installs, crash with blue screen advising me:

A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer,
blah, blah. In other words blue screen of death that ends with this message - STOP: 0xF78D2524, 0 x 00000000, 0 x 00000000

Now, I've had quite a few machines over the years, but never something like that before you encounter when you try to
    install an operating system.

Any advice appreciated, otherwise unit will have to go back to the seller.

    Thank you

Access the BIOS-> SATA mode choose and is compatible-> save the changes and exit the BIOS.
Then try to reinstall Win XP with SP2.

  • Old computer BSOD when installing XP and randomly after installation

I'm repairing an old computer (5-6 years old) who has problems.  Originally, it was full of viruses and was completely sunk, so I did a cleanup of the HD and reinstalled windows... However, increasingly, the owner complained to get BSOD once in a while.  It happened during my installation of windows as well.  The disc to load everything upward, and when he is at "Windows Installation", he gave me a BSOD error:

    STOP 0X0000006F (0XC0000020, 0X00000000, 0X00000000...)

I did a Memtest86 + to verify memory, and after 10 passages, there was no error.  I also cleaned all the dust in the computer, which helped me to get windows installed, but has not fixed the random BSOD would happen after installing windows (this happens rarely, making it difficult to reproduce).

At first I thought it was the hard drive, because the hard drive is old and use IDE cables, but he spent under UBCD Disk Diagnostic tools.  In addition, on a hunch, I tried the first 95, and of course it enough it crashed the computer.  What is the cpu?  Or something else going on?

Single Minidump file has been generated, but I am including here:
    http://CID-676f5f905e0a077b.Office.live.com/self.aspx/minidump/Mini021611-01.dmp

I think that it is likely that the CPU or the motherboard is at fault. If it's a very old PC, not worth the effort/cost to recover. I recommend a new PC.

  • Cannot run XP sp3 on x 61 Tablet - BSOD when installing

I'm trying to install XP pro sp3 on my X 61 Tablet, but every time I try I get a BSOD with an 0x0000007B error.  I've tried everything

    I see:

    (1) replacing the sata BIOS ACHI <-->compatibility mode
    (2) copy an installation of XP in a VM on the HARD drive (gave me the same BSOD)

    (3) f6 to insert ICH8M SATA drivers for the XP installation process

    (4) slipstreaming ICH8M SATA drivers in the XP installation using nlite

I run win 7 on this machine perfectly (it came with vista, which sits on the recovery partition).  In addition, I would install XP from an iso on a USB key using the iso pendrivelinux multiboot (it's grub). I don't have a CD player, I can use with this machine.

I use the latest version of bios 1.24.

Here are somethings, that I have not tried:

    (1) install the drivers for x 61 in a virtual machine, and then copy the virtual disk on the real disc.

    (2) using a real CDROM

    (3) buy lenovo xp recovery discs (they want $80, which seems a lot to me). However the support of people said there was no guarantee that would work either.

    Someone at - it ideas?

  • New hard drive for HP6930 - BSOD when installing the OS

I recently bought a new hard drive for my HP6930 so I can switch between my work and home demands (they cannot reside on the same hardware).

Both drives are Fujitsu SATA 160 GB.

After swapping the drives and boot from CD to install the operating system - I get a BSOD, hardware failure - "the system was arrested to prevent damage...". "with a comment about the check of the hard drive.

Can anyone provide insight into what I'm doing wrong?

    Thank you

    Dave

You can integrate the drivers Sata (ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI) and burn a new cd XP with nLite .

Here is a guide showing how to integrate and here drivers Sata. 7-ZIP or Universal Extractor are good at unpacking the installer.
