BSOD when installing Win XP on Satellite L350-16 b

I followed the procedure with F6 for the SATA controller and the Intel(r) ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E SATA RAID Controller has been selected.
Then he began to copy the files as usual, but shortly after order while he was the GUI I got BSOD and would not continue due to protected operating system. The CD was tested on another computer and it worked very well.

I also use Acronis to make backups, and there is a CD that I can start on and restore from an external drive.
This CD will not start on the computer, it has been tested on another computer, he worked were very good. It's as if the CD/DVD drive cannot read it.
I would be grateful if someone could please tell me where is the problem.

Would it be in the BIOS there is a setting that must be 'twisted '?
If yes where?

Thank you
John

Are you sure you are using the correct SATA driver? Check it!

The BIOS must not be twisted, but it would be interesting to know if the same problem occurs if you select the compatibility mode in the BIOS (so you do not need a SATA driver).
If the same error occurs, it s a problem the CD/DVD player and if not it s bad driver SATA.

  • BSoD when installing driver display on Satellite P200D - 11 L

I just installed Windows 7 and everything works fine but I decided to install the drivers of Toshiba and when I was installing the display driver (for ATI mobility radeon HD 2600) I've got the so-called 'Blue screen of death '. Then every time that windows starts, he gets the same blue screen. Windows start repair corrected this by using the system restore.
I think that windows 7 installed a different driver and they interfere with each other. The other driver works fine for now.

I also tried to uninstall everything first, but then would not even to begin the installation.
So, what should I do? I think it's fine, but I want to ask someone with more experience first.

    Hello

You what version of Windows 7, 32-bit or 64-bit?
The Toshiba page shows only a tested Windows 7 32-bit driver and it should work on the laptop.

You can also post the exact code of BSOD? Maybe the Microsoft Knowledge Base can provide an answer for this code?

I have a new L300-1AP and would like to intall XP Pro but when I try it I get the stop message 0x0000007b.

Made a new installation disc integrated with all updated sata drivers, I still get the message. I'm not sure about how I would install drivers of third party on the F6 function because it has not a diskette and cany to find how to do the same thing in a CD anywere.

I appreciate that we should all try to use the vista OS that came with it, but it is a problem of compatibility with older software that I use.

    Can anyone help please?

In the Microsoft Knowledge Base is an article about it:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3ben-us%3B324103&x=17&y=8

I think that there is something wrong with the SATA drivers. My Satellite L300 works with XP without problems or BSOD when installing.

The SATA drivers are in this package, and the Intel Storage Manager you can download on the Toshiba site.
You can create your own installation with nLite (http://www.nliteos.com/) disc.
If I have integrated the SATA drivers, you do not have to press F6. The HARD drive will be automatically recognized.

The STOP message says something about a file named "pci.sys".

I don't know what the problem is or how to install XP Pro! It should be so simple! I even tried the SATA drivers from intel and load the Windows XP Pro install the program installation (F6) with a floppy, but I always get the same blue screen at the same stage of the installation.

So now I'm stuck with this laptop which is useless unless some experts out there.

Can tell me how to install Win XP on the laptop?
    Please help thanks

    > I asked what happened to support apparently you must pay about $146 each year for the software support and if you told me this before, I bought the laptop I him would not have bought a toshiba.

I've never heard of it but first I have to say that this laptop was not delivered with Win XP and so maybe there's no direct support for this OS on this laptop Toshiba.

Second, if you want to install Win XP Add SATA driver to the Win XP CD or installation Setup because new specifications to support the new type of controller SATA HDD and this controller has the SATA drivers that are NOT part of the Win XP.

You should check this FAQ from Toshiba:

  • How to install Win 7 on Satellite P300?

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite P300. When I bought it, I had to this topic Vista Edition home premium. Now, I tried to install Win 7.
I have the DVD of Win 7 Professional but when I want to boot from the DVD win 7 it wouldn t accept and the boot PC always from the hard drive even when I changed it on the BIOS as it doesn t recognize. I tried with another Win 7 DVD to format the hard drive and install Windows 7 as the normal procedure, but Toshiba doesn't recognize any DVD Win 7, it acknowledges that its original DVD system (hddrecovery files that combines the win vista and all the drivers of Toshiba for laptop, as you know).

  • Impossible to install Win 7 on Satellite C50-A-1JT

    Hello

You just buy new C50-A-1JT which came with an installation of Linux Mint, I won't, because it's for my mother in law who barely knows windows, and even less to ask him to learn to use Linux.

I tried to make a bootable USB key with win 7 installation (that I would do on a normal pc).
The windows installer seems to load fine, but when I press Windows Installer, I get "a required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now. »

The problem is that my laptop did not contain driver disks, so I wonder what I can do to install Win 7 on it.

    Thank you
    Mark

About this error message, see Microsoft Knowledge base article:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2755139/

This problem occurs for the following reasons:
The installation DVD is removed during the installation process.
A bad quality DVD has been used to create the installation DVD.
The speed at which the installation DVD is burnt was too fast.
The DVD drive cannot read media.
    The ISO file is corrupted.

Given that you don t use the installation disc but a USB flash memory stick, I suppose that the image on the USB flash memory stick file is corrupt or there is a problem with the support of USB flash memory

  • I want to install Win XP on Satellite A305-S6905

    Hello.

I want to downgrade my Vista to XP because of problems and slow down my PC...
For example I can't download updates antivirus, games etc...

I read in the forum that I need some kind of sata drivers and those I can do myself, but someone can help me with other drivers because I use this laptop for an hour and I know not what drivers there need.

If someone could give me links to the necessary software, I would be very grateful.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I think that you couldn't find the right drivers XP because you didn t find on the right-hand page.
Like you probably n t know that this series of laptop (Satellite A305) belongs to Toshiba from US and you have to find good drivers on Toshiba U.S. page!
    http://www.toshibadirect.com/TD/B2C/home.to

In addition, if you want to install Win XP on laptop thin, you will need to install the SATA drivers first.
The SATA drivers are on Intel Storage Manager part which can be downloaded from the Intel and Toshiba page page as well.

But if you don t want to install SATA drivers, there is another possibility to install the XP.
Just access the BIOS and set the compatible SATA to AHCI mode.

    That s it.

First of all, I had a problem than Win XP. It is not the hard drive.

    Hello

I think you need to create a new Win XP using nLite application.
By using this software, you'd be able to include the SATA drivers (in the Storage Manager) and other files of driver and MS service packs or patches MS

The Win XP which you try to install must contain min SP2!

Please note that there is also a special update BIOS version for Win XP at the moment its 5, 60 - Win for Sat A200 PSAE6E.

So you need to update the BIOS check if you can do before installing Win XP!
