  2 I know, usb sleep & charge is only available for USB ports marked with a small sign of flash.

  In my BIOS (version 1.60)--> Advanced menu there is an option: USB Sleep and fresh. I can set it to disabled, enabled (Mode1), activated (Mode2).
  My question is: what is the difference Mode1 / Mode2?

  I have also not an expert but as far as I know it s depending on the device that you use that you have need for sleep & Mr. load the default setting in the BIOS is mode 1 and if it doesn t work (sleep & Charge) you must set the mode 2

  I also checked the user manual but it doesn't give more details. So, as I have already said it s depending on the device.

  You can set default (mode 1) and if it s not work change to mode 2.

• Portege R600-4201 - are there USB sleep & charage available?

  There may be a setting somewhere that I missed, but when the device is OFF, no USB port is available to load another element.

  Yes, normally the Portege R600 supports USB Sleep & Charge:

  This feature is available on the USB port which is marked with a lightning symbol. Additionally, make sure that it is enabled and you can check it using Toshiba USB Sleep and Charge Utility (start > all programs > Toshiba > utilities > USB Sleep and fresh).

  And don t forget that the machine must be compatible with the USB specification.

  Also, check the user manual! You will find lots of information on this feature.

  USB sleep-and-Charge function is marked as disabled in BIOS (v2.70).
  This can be checked with Sleep Utility (v1.4.1.5) where the function also seems to be disabled.

  Everything is OK down there.

  However, when putting my laptop in * hibernation mode *, my Smartphone and my MP3 player continues to be charged!
  It's a real problem, because, even if no device is plugged into the USB port, in hibernation, the battery loses capacity quickly (much more when the laptop is turned off completely)

  * Obviously a bug in this feature. Please provide a fix as soon as possible! *

  Have you checked if the sleep and the load is disabled in USB Sleep and Charge Utility
  If please don t mix USB Sleep and Charge utility and utility of sleep.

  I tried all the settings I can think off, but I can't seem to get the USB sleep and work load. My OS is Windows Vista Business SP1.
  I tried the mode 1, mode 2, unchecked power save all the boxes in hubs usb root, legacy usb support turned off but still the load stops when I put the laptop to sleep.

  Someone at - it a solution?

  NOT all USB ports provide the features of sleep & Charge.
  THAT the USB port with the little icon flash supports the costs of sleep &.

  So I recommend you to check if you have used the correct USB port!

  For safety, we stopped ports USB one our business using Group policies in a Windows environment. USB keys, USB, camera hard drives, phones, all are not allowed to install and use when connected to a computer. Capablities charge are still working on the iPhone, Android devices, but are not charged if the driver is or cannot be installed. Can someone tell me why this is and, perhaps more importantly, if there is a way to make iPhones load and always disable their data connectivity capabilities. Internet research and these forums have not made clear things for me on this subject.

  I don't know if it will work, but there are some not Apple cables that are pricing only, not charging and synchronization. It can be difficult to find one who has certified the IFM and these types of cables are generally good cheap and of poor quality, so this may damage your phone if you're not careful which one you buy.

  Tried to charge the battery on an ipod via a USB cable, left hip and noticed after a few minutes laptop screen became dark and "standby mode". So of course, my ipod stopped charging.

  Check this option in the power plan settings. I put t know which power plan you use but do not forget to confirmation of the option is set to never.

• Satellite P305D-S8828, cannot stop USB sleep & fresh.

  I put the function 'disable' & restarted the system & the external drive USB powered stayes & the USB mouse will wake up the system from standby mode. I can't turn it off! Any ideas? If the system is idle, can I plug a USB device into one of the 4 USB ports & he'll see the power.

  Have you disabled in Toshiba HWSetup tool?
  On my old laptop P200D model, I don't have this option, but small LED USB LIGHT remains under tension when the laptop is in sleep mode.

  Own P850-132 ("sleep and charge" support)
  Changed hard drive SSD (samsung 830 265gt)

  Tried to get the PS3 controller & mic to load during sleep
  Didn t work.

  Noticed that didn t of pop-up window show "sleep and Charge" for those but showed for ipod.

  Tested iPod.
  That it charges.

  While everyone has a work a round or it's just the problem of software support?
