NB305-10F - capacity RAM

Nice day

Currently my net-book NB305-10F (Windows Home Premium 64 bit) has a module of DDR3 1 GB inside. In the specifications it says it is expandable to 2 GB however it is because 32-bit Windows does not support the 4 GB or is this a limitation of the motherboard?

My motherboard is running on the BIOS v1.70.

Thanks for your time

It is, as far as I know, limitation of the motherboard.

  • NB305-10F vs-10 K difference and how to change my OS?

Hi all! I want to buy portable NB305, but I can't choose between the models NB305-10F and NB305 - 10K. The difference between them is ddr2 800 RAM in French - 10F and ddr3 1066 RAM-10T, but - 10F costs about $ 100 higher then - 10 K in my country. So I want to understand is that the difference in the RAM and what model is actually better?

And second question on change of BONE on the NB305. This laptop only has no drive cd/dvd internal so can I install new OS map flash or disk external hard usb? I have no external optical drive.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    > So I want to understand is that the difference in the RAM and which model is better?

Faster than ddr2 DDR3 I but I do not think that you will feel really high performance of purchase of RAM ddr3 1066

    > This laptop only has no drive cd/dvd internal so can I install new OS map flash or disk external hard usb

You can create a bootable usb key and install Os without any problem

  • Re: NB305-10F - high-pitched noise of the slot of the headset

    Hey all,.

I recently bought a Toshiba NB305-10F and at first everything seemed fine, but I found now that when I put headphones or external speakers in the headphone slot it emits a high-pitched noise. It is intermittent but is it about 95% of the time. Unfortunately this makes it nearly impossible to listen to any music or audio books through my speakers or headphones! It doesn't seem to be any sound when I use the built-in speakers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I had to send my first model for other reasons and not want to do the same thing again!

    Kind regards

    Rob

    Hello

You use the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba?

I think that what you can do is update the audio driver and if it doesn't work you should get in touch with an authorized service provider. It seems that something is wrong with the slot of the headset, and it needs to be repaired

A friend also told NB300 but he never noticed such a problem.

  • NB305 10F takes forever to start

    Hi all

I have a brand new (two days!) NB305 10F Netbook and even it is a very nice piece of kit to mount on a half hour or so to start!

I didn't do anything to this thing of the hook aopart up to my wireless home network and since then stop after that it simply does not work correctly. I tried to power off and re-boot in safe mode, but it still takes forever!

What's up (Toshiba help line will get ' phoned later this afternoon!) and how do I back out of the box settings? Can I start and enter the BIOS with F2 or F8 magic or similar to reset everything?

Any ideas would be most appreciated.

    Thank you.

On each new Toshiba notebook is preinstalled original Toshiba recovery image. This recovery image contains many tools and utilities as well as additional applications. Most of them start by operating system and slows down the startup time.

Please note: when you get the new book of Microsoft updates are set to auto so when you start your laptop and there is LAN or WLAN connotation your laptop will start to automatically download the updates and it will slow down the performance of any computer laptop.

What you need is the optimization of the OS.

  • NB305-10f memory upgrade question

I want to upgrade the memory of my NB305-10f of 1 GB to 2 GB, but I can't get a definitive answer on the type of memory stick that will work. For starters, the Toshiba site said that this laptop uses DDR3, but the manual says DDR2 and think "Topaz" (a retailer party Toshiba helpdesk told me) that he uses too.

I found a discussion on laptopforums.toshiba.com indicating that the Kingston KTT1066D3S / 2G works for NB305-N440, but I don't know how to close this laptop is for the NB305-10f. One point that out of the discussion is that computers cell phones can be very skittish on the memory sticks that they will work with, so I need to be sure that the part I liquidate command will work.

    Can anyone help please?

    Hello

The memory depends on the chipset and CPU which is taken in charge by the laptop.
As far as I know the laptop supports the Chipset Intel GMA 3150 Express. Check the Intel page what modules are supported by the chipset.

But when Host Interface clock speed (FSB / HT) CPU is so DDR3 at 1066 MHz (PC3-8500) bars would go with 1066 MHz.
If the CPU FSB is lower (IE 800 Mhz) DDR3 memory would go to 800 Mhz.

So yes, it seems that the NB300 can handle DDR3 memory modules.

Go to Skype and turn the setting that Skype allows you to take control of the microphone volume. Let Windows manage the microphone Volume.

    Then go to:
Panel-> Sound-> read-> Select "speakers" tab and click on 'Properties'-> the levels tab.
Lower or cut the Mic playback Volume to avoid the Larsen effect.

  • Aspire capacity RAM v3 - 772 g-7872

    Hello

So I have the acer model, as described in the topic, and I looked everywhere on the net and forums in an attempt to discover the maximum capacity of ram for my motherboard. Since the purchase of my laptop a little over a year I still had a hard time finding any information or support for my specific model. The laptop came with 16 GB of ram in the form of sticks of 2 x 8 GB, and I know for the fact that there are a total of 4 places available which gives me the impression that it is expandable to hold more. But I would be sure that the motherboard has a higher than the stock of 16 GB maximum capacity until I go and spend money buying more RAM.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    System memory

    DDR3L SDRAM support dual channel:

Up to 8 GB of system memory DDR3L, expandable to 16 GB using two soDIMM for UMA machine modules (has only INTEL graphics controller) with Quad-Core processor under 64 bit OS.

Expandable up to 32 GB using four modules soDIMM for machine SAY (has both graphics controller INTEL and NVIDIA graphics processing unit) with CPU under 64 bit OS

So looking more into it. It shows that it can be updated with all values up to 32 GB to get there in the 4 slots so could be same 8 + 8 and 4 + 4 total of 24 or could do 8 + 8 and 8 2 + same for 26 Go but up to as much as 32 GB total

  • Security & server capacity RAM connection

    Hello

We just turned on the gateway funktion in sight 4,6 PCoIP. We currently have approximately 40 simultaneous connections (more is coming) 2 safety, 4 connection servers (2 internal)

All our servers are configured with 4 GB of RAM, which I think is going to be a little tight.

At one point I heard a bug in sight, making it unnecessary to upgrade a server with more RAM after the view has been installed, in place you can do a server replacement.

    Can anyone confirm this?

    Hello Frederik

If it is a Windows 2008 64 bit server, then you must reinstall the view with the new allocated memory broker.

If it's a 32-bit Windows 2008, then you can change it with this procedure:

1 on the Windows Server, start the Windows Registry Editor.
a select start > command prompt.
    b. at the command prompt, type regedit.
2 in the registry, find the subkey, and then click JvmOptions.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware, Inc. \VMware VDM\Plugins\wsnm\tunnelService\Pa.
    3 click Edit > modify.
A Windows dialog box shows an entry like the one below.
    -Xms128m-Xmx512m-Xss96k - Xrs - XX: + UseConcMarkSweepGC
    -Dsimple.http.poller = simple.http.GranularPoller
    -Dsimple.http.connect.configurator = com.vmware.vdi.front.SimpleConfigurator
4 change the setting - Xmx for value-Xmx1024m.
The dialog box displays the following entry.

    -Xms128m-Xmx1024m-Xss96k - Xrs - XX: + UseConcMarkSweepGC - Dsimple.http.poller = simple.http.GranularPoller - Dsimple.http.connect.configurator = com.vmware.vdi.front.SimpleConfigurator
5 click OK and quit the registry editor.

  • Upgrade RAM NB305 does not work

I recently bought a netbook NB305-10F in Spain. This computer has a processor Atom n455 and specification, should be expandable to 2 GB using a stick of memory DDR3 1066.

When I tried to upgrade the memory to 2 GB, it did not work. I tried another stick, just in case there was a problem in the first, and I got the same results. The computer does not start with the stick of 2GB (although the original 1 GB works fine).

I called Toshiba Tech Support in Spain twice and it turns out that they are totally clueless.

In the first call, the call center agent said that "maybe" my computer is not extensible (although the site Web of Toshiba says that it is), and that maybe I should update my BIOS to 1.7. He didn't know for sure what are the changes between versions 1.5 and 1.7.

In the second call, another agent asked me if I inserted the memory into the slot on the right (according to her, my netbook has two memory slots). I told her that my computer has only one. And then she said I should buy memory at 800 MHz instead of 1 066 MHz (even thought the specs and the original memory in my netbook are at 1066 MHz).

In view of the poverty is Toshiba Tech support is in Spain, I did some research online to find this thread:

    http://laptopforums.Toshiba.com/T5/mini-notebooks-NB-series/NB305-440N-memory-upgrade-not-working/m-p/117981#M467

It seems that the memory for nb305 should be of a specific type. They do not mention my model of netbook, but I guess that's another based n455 netbook. Anyone would confirm, if the memory of this brand and model works very well in the NB305-10F. Someone has it already tried?

The one I used is Kingston KVR1066D3S7 / 2G. The Spanish site of Toshiba says nothing of a specific memory type.

    Thank you very much!

I checked the page Kingston and a single module of memory 2 GB is listed for your model of PLL3AE.
    Module 2 GB 800 MHz
    KTT800D2 / 2G
    PA3669U-1M2G (Toshiba); PAME2005 (Toshiba)

If somehow possible try to use this module.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any other info that can help you with this.

  • NB305 - what settings should I use to get 11 hours of battery life?

    Hello

looking for help with my new NB305-10F. I just bought the netbook and drained the battery before recharging. I disabled the netbook for recharging. This morning when I turned on the computer it says 8 hours - it was me running with option power saver - with the brightness of the screen to a minimum.

So, my question is, what should I do for gt 11 hours of battery life as told when I bought the netbook? I hope that someone will be able to answer my question!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi willbar,.

I think you should charege/charging the battery up to 5 - 10 times to get the maximum battery life and only 1 or 2 times it charges s not enough.

Also the battery life expectancy is depending on the applications that you are running. 11 hours, you won't get that if you don't do anything on the netbook, until it turn off by itself, but if you navigate in Internet, write emails and watch videos, 8 hours is really good and you can be satisfied with this :)

  • HP Pavilion 15-n250sv: HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC - Ram upgrade TS

    Hello! I just bought a HP Pavilion 15-n250sv with 8 GB of RAM (4 GB x 2) - (4 G 1Rx8 PC3L - 12800S - 11 - 11 - B2 DDR3).

What is the maximum capacity (RAM) from my system? I want to move to 16 GB (8 GB x 2) is it possible? Thank you!

The manual says 12 GB is the maximum, but we know from reports by users who work 16 concerts. Here is the Manual:

    Repair manuals

    p. 42 shows installation of memory. There is an easy access panel so all you need is to remove the 2 x 4 gig inside modules and install 2 of them or the equivalent:

    Module memory 8 GB PC3L 12800 1600 Mhz Shared 693374-001

$ 36 each is kind of logic, but for most people the upgrade of the 2 x 4 GB dual channel 2 x 8 gig dual channel modules modules will be invisible. You will need to do some intensive heavy stuff like video editing before your computer requires more than 8 GB of RAM. But it is easy to make and not real expensive so why not?

  • What O.S. will have access to 8 GB of RAM on an IBM Z - Pro with two Xeon processors

Hello everyone and thanks for looking. I have an old IBM Z - Pro with Dual Xeon 3.06 gHz processors. The owner's manual says that the machine will hold 8 GB of RAM. This is a SM 6221.
What Microsoft OS will allow me to have access to this memory? I don't know if it's a 64-bit computer. I don't think so.

    Hello

Microsoft 64-bit operating system can read high-capacity RAM.

Vista 64 x is able to read up to 16 GB of RAM and
Windows 7 64 x is able to read a huge 128 GB of RAM.
    Now, it's huge!

    1. will join 12 G 4 G RAM (because want to keep the original 2 x 2 G). I'll add 2 x 4 G RAM.  Should what model of RAM I buy?

    3. due to the improvement of capacity RAM and HARD drive, I need to update my old Snow Leopard OS to more recent and reliable version.  Should I go straight to the latest version (EL Capitan)? This new OS version will drag my old iMac to be very slow?

  • HP Envy X 360 laptop USB 3.0 transfer speeds

Hello.  I have envy of HP X 360 with an Intel i5 in it.

I also bought a Seagate USB 3.0 portable hard drive.

I only get speeds between 20-30 MB/s between them.

    Why?

And Yes, the drive is plugged into one of the two USB 3.0 ports.

    Hello @wvcadle ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you are concerned at the speed of read/write of the USB 3.0 ports on your laptop.

The features of a Protocol do not indicate the typical real return. The maximum speed of USB 3.0 is 5 Gbps (gigabits per second) which translates to 640 Mbps (megabytes per second).

Note that B and b are very different by a factor of eight and lead to very different figures and are a huge complaint among people, the resolution of the speed problems.

That said, these specs: 640 Mbit/s is the maximum possible speed of technology and does not reflect in some way the speed you will actually live. Many things will slow down the speed of read/write of your computer. Process running on the laptop, CPU capacity, RAM speed, speed (rpm or SSD and lens travel speeds), or the size of the transferred file. The mechanical controls that operate at 7200 RPM (5400 is used) generally have a flow of some 80 to 100 Mbps.

Basically what I'm saying here is to take a car that can only go 55 mph, won't go faster if you drive on a street with a higher speed limit. (Sorry if this analogy comes off rude. "I want to ensure that the point is clear to some of the less technical than reading the forums).

When the protocols are created, they are written with capabilities in futuristic mind. It's a bit misleading to consumers because they expect these kinds of speeds when devices don't support even them yet, only the theoretical Protocol done.

Another important factor is if the unit is powered by or not USB. Peripheral USB powered generally operate at a slower speed than with their own dedicated power devices.

If you look at the reading and writing speed of most of the USB 3.0 devices, you will find that the real device (not port) tops out at about 100 Mbps, which even then still will provide not a speed of 100 Mbit/s in most cases once you take into account other variables posted previously.

Here's a good graphical representation what I mean for the peripheral communes.

If you want more information on USB 3.0 from one more credible source other than little ' ol read me this article published by PC Mag: USB 3.0 Tested: how fast is it in the real world? It is a bit outdated, but the same concepts apply today. Don't forget no USB 3.0 has been standardized in 2008, and this article was written in 2010. A lot of time for builders to get on board and do things together.

So the question is: what we do about it?

    1. Make sure you have a USB 3.0 cable connecting a player to the laptop.
    2. Make sure that the 3.0 drivers are installed from here: HP - drivers & downloads or the Intel Web site.
    3. Make sure controller xHCI is enabled in the BIOS and the BIOS is updated. (Access the BIOS via tapping F10 at startup.)
    4. A clean boot of Windows allows to eliminate the process and background services.

I hope that this information gives an overview of the problem. Let me know if you have any other questions.
