Need a sample RH11 Webhelp output with categories and browse sequences...

I am looking to test a plugin (of sorts) with any HR 11 Webhelp output that uses categories and browse the sequences. A Webhelp output from the sample project Salesbuilder 2 would suffice. I won't buy another version of HR for a trial.

If someone could post a file zipped from the release of somewhere, or send it to the email address on my profile, it would be extremely useful.

Thank you

Roger N.

I have them wrapped in beautiful jackets of WinZip and sent them via wetransfer.com

  • Webhelp created with RoboHelp HTML installed on Linux server crashes when view with Firefox

We have just started using the Adobe Technical Communication Suite to a single source our documentation and have worked on most of the kinks, except for a sticking point in the Webhelp generated with RoboHelp. We need our help system to work with IE and Firefox. When aid is run locally on a Windows machine, IE and Firefox work fine.

When help is installed on our Linux-based server, the help of opening causes Firefox hang unless Firefox is configured to use Unicode encoding. Unfortunately, the Firefox default is Western Europe. We do not control the environments of our customers, and we can not just to document this problem because FireFox users will not be able to open the help system more about the fix.

During the investigation of this problem, we discovered that RoboHelp is insert a blank line at the beginning of each HTML file. This blank line is innocuous in IE and in Firefox when the help is installed locally, but when help is installed on a Linux server, the empty line causes Firefox to hang unless the Unicode encoding is selected. It seems that under Linux, the empty line is converted to 3 characters corrupt, that can be seen if you look at the source code.

It is a showstopper for us, unless a workaround can be found. My questions are:

    (1) is this a known problem?
    (2) is it possible for RoboHelp to eliminate blank lines?
    (3) is there a way to force FireFox to use Unicoding encoding for our help system (for example, by changing our CSS file)?

    Thank you!

  • Multi-authoring with source with RH10 and RH11 control

    Location:

    • Writer runs RH10. Writer opens the A project, Visual Studio Source control, which is connected to a Team Foundation Server.
    • A new employee, writer B, gave RH11.
    • A writer cannot install RH11 until after mid-June because of the tight programs (cannot afford any upgrade).
    • Writer B is supposed to work on the same project. (We know that RoboHelp does not support check the same file at the same time).

If writer B configures its RH11 version work with TFS and Source code control, can open A project and work on it (from Source code control) without causing problems for A Scripting Guy?

    Thank you.

    Carol Levine

    Hi, Carol

The scenario that expose you, (unless I'm missing something) I don't think. Writer B certainly could open A project. But from the opening, she will receive a dialog box asking that she 'upgrade' it format Rh11. Unfortunately, it is a one-way street. Once converted, A writer could not then open it in Rh10. enter here for workaround solutions, perhaps writer B could create content in Word that you could import or 'Link' to your project Rh10 and regularly updated until June, but it's probably not practice. Maybe someone else has a better idea?

  • Synchronization of analog and digital output with the external sample clock

    Hello

First of all sorry for my English, I will try to explain what I want to do.

I want my PCIe-6321 to send two custom signals (modification sawtooths) on a mirror controller. I would also like to generate output with my card at the beginning of each tooth of saw. Everything must be synchronized with an external k-clock signal of 100 kHz. The idea is that whenever the PCI receives a trigger to external clock, it sends two analog output voltages and when he received 1024 clock ticks it will also send a pic of triggering TTL. What I do is first prepare the map and after that in a loop sending and modifing the output values of the two signals and at the same time send a digital signal Boolean in each arch, so when's done it 1024 iterations of the loop I send an event to the digital port. Attached you can see.

The problem is that I don't know how to synchronize both. Can I use the sample clock just to the analog output? I can use sample for the two outputs clock, or do I need to use the output of the meter? If don't know how to use it here.

If I do nothing else bad/wrong, I would be grateful for feedback.

    Thanks in advance,
    Pablo

I don't know how but I find the solution. I'm generating more than a positive value (as I was triggered maybe very fast the oscilloscope has been absent there). If I put the sample clock of digital output to use the sampling/ao/Dev1 clock that it doesn't, but if I put to use the same source as the OD (terminal where my external clock is connected), but the trigger to start the DO to be Dev1/ao/StartTrigger this works. I don't really know why, but it does.

Thank you for your patience and your help. I put here the final code.

  • Analog output with counter Falling Edge

    Hi all

Here's the iamge which describes what wishes to accomplish. I would like to trigger that the AO output with the edge of the fall of the meter.

I have set the clock for my AO as the counter.

The analogue output should be raised whenever the Digital signal meter falls

    SAMPLE_SIZE = 80
    SAMPLING_RATE = 40 #Samples are written every 25 milliseconds
    TIME = float ((SAMPLE_SIZE) / (SAMPLING_RATE))

    CREATE TASKS

    CONFIGURE THE TIMING CHANNELS
    DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming (taskHandleAO, "PFI12", SAMPLING_RATE, DAQmx_Val_Falling, DAQmx_Val_FiniteSamps, SAMPLE_SIZE)

    CREATE TASKS
    CREATE A CHAIN COUNTER
    # Time high-low + time equals 25 milliseconds and is proportional to the frequency of sampling

#TIME is equal to the total time for the writing samples
    DAQmxWaitUntilTaskDone (taskHandleD, 2 * TIMES)

I get an error every time that I run the task:

DAQError: Over Acquisition or generation has been stopped until the required number of samples were acquired or generated.
    function DAQmxStopTask

That's because my AO task is stopped for some reason any.

Is there an obvious problem with the code. Can it be structured differently?

    best regards,

    Ravi

I do all my programming in LabVIEW, so I'm pretty limited to help with programming syntax text.  That being said, here's what I * think * I see:

Your AO task issues a call to DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming, but is not your task of counter.  This probably leaves you with a meter spot which creates only a single impulse, which causes only a single AO D/A conversion.  In LabVIEW when I need a pulse train, I would call a similar function of the synchronization with the clock mode is defined as 'implied '.

Hope this helps you get started, I don't know enough to give you the specific syntax in the text.

  • What is the best way to deliver the WebHelp output files to the development team in TFS?

I use RoboHelp 2015 to generate WebHelp output.

The development team want me to archive files in TFS so that they can pick up the files and integrate them into the build.

I'm looking for some best practices here because I'm running into some issues whenever I try to check the files back in. For example, I need to manually track the files I added/renamed/deleted in the HR project.

    We discussed the following options:

    • Delete the contents of the WebHelp output folder in TFS whenever I want to check in new files.
      • This works, but doesn't seem to be a very elegant option.
    • Zip the contents of the folder of WebHelp output and archiving/retrieval of this file
      • This works well for me, but the devs have create a separate process to unzip the file whenever they generate a release, they don't care.
    • Check all files in the folder, overwrite the files with the new files, manually add the new files and then check back in.
      • This job very well, but it requires you to manually add the files whenever you check in and also leaves / the legacy of old who were removed from the HR project.

Someone at - it other ideas about how to do this?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    James

    Hello Mack,

I think that the decompression of a file is a very simple action to add to a build process, it is perhaps the best way to go. But there are other options as well.

You can check in sources in TFS and use RoboHelp with source code control. Then you include RoboHelp in the build process so that the latest sources are retrieved from TFS and aid is generated on the server. A nice solution, but still work to implement. I like this solution because I do not store an output is very useful. As long as you have the sources, you can always create new output.

For developers, it is easier to just add all the files output in a specific folder. And you can automate this option for yourself as well. The TFS and RoboHelp can remotely control from the command line. Meaning that you can create a batch (1) file generates output from RoboHelp. (2) deletes the current aid of TFS. (3) add the new output 1 to TFS. (4) checks in changes in TFS. A single file can automate everything for you. I have used this method in the past, and once it is implemented, there is virtually no maintenance for you.

  • ducc Webhelp output size

Tool: Robohelp 11, webhelp, using DUCC (dynamic user story-centricnt)

Question: DUCC generates its own output files for each category of content you create. However, my use of the DUCC is simple, only the table of contents/index. Output size can be reduced?

( Reason: 1) good to know. My use of the DUCC can be more complicated next time.  (2) a software build process a lot of markets and players. Whereas an addition 50 MB is sizewise small potatoes, it would be courteous reduce time if is not necessary.

Possible method, I think: there are maybe a dialog box option to redirect the DUCC table of contents/index to key topics rather than generate a separate set of files.

    Details

    My output size

    • Non-DUCC webhelp output is 25MB
    • Addition of 2 categories of content DUCC totals 75Mo

    Help the user selections

    • Product help (by default, used by about half of the users, inclusive table indexes materials)
    • Manager (single table of contents/index)
    • Help user (single table of contents/index)

My use of the DUCC is perhaps the simplest:

    • Table of contents/index of only differ
    • All have the language and even conditional text
    • Search finds all topics

    Thank you

There currently is no way to do this in RoboHelp, other than the creation of outputs or DUCC multiples. (Essentially the same as DUCC.) I encourage you to drop a wish with Adobe: Adobe - feature request/Bug Report Form

More people to submit a wish, more likely, to be implemented.

    Kind regards

  • Problems generating WebHelp output using RoboHelp X 5

    Hello

I have been using RoboHelp X 5, build 606 since the last 2 weeks. I am facing problems with the generation of the WebHelp output, when I generate and publish the project, it does not give me the Index and table of contents. I took over the project from another author, and when I compare the new published folder help with his previous work, I see some missing files. Could someone group please help me solve this problem?

    Thank you!

    Two options from this information.

1] is the D drive partition on your hard drive or a network drive? The RoboHelp projects must be executed from your hard drive.

[2] the most likely is that HR is not properly installed. When the left anterior author was uninstalled and reinstalled HR using your login? For X 5, it must be installed using your login? Also, you need local administrator rights both to install it and use it.

My guess is that it's all to do with X 5 having not been installed with your login and you have local administrator rights.

This will lead to another problem. X 5 can no longer be activated. The solution that is on my site. See extract of 100.

  • Strange problem with analog output PCI 6251 and BNC-2110

I'm controlling current source of third parties using the connectors of analog output on my card PCI 6251 and BNC-2110.

The current source needs an input signal of 0.1V. I tested it using a battery, the potentiometer and the voltmeter, and by manually adjusting the voltage of power current works - current output with control voltage scales according to the specifications and is relatively stable.

The data acquisition card works too - when I connect a voltmeter to the AO0 AO1, the measured voltage corresponds to the target with great precision value.

But when I connect the current source of third AO0 AO1 data acquisition card, the measured output voltage drops and fluctuates. This applies to both channels of the AO.

I wonder what is the problem here. I suspect it could be a matter of the grounding - the current analog control of the source is an entry with two floating terminals differential. I tried to return the switches FS/GS on the BNC-2110, but that makes no difference.

Anyone knows similar behavior? Does anyone have any suggestions?
