• Need help to fill in a text box in a drop-down list.

  I think I have most of the code and correct settings, but I need help.

  I have a drop down list that is populated with 3 States. When a certain State is selected in the drop-down list, I need a text box to fill with tax information for each State. I list them set up variables that define the drop-down list data and the data that I want to appear in the text box. I also code basic javascript in place - but it is not perfect.

  The problems I'm having with the dynamic .pdf file include:

  1. where a State is selected in the drop-down list, the user must first click the text box so that the appropriate text appears in the box.

  2. when a State is selected in the drop-down list and the user clicks on the text box to display the text of tax info, tax info text does not change as it should if a user selects a different State in the drop-down list.

  3. the tax information in the text box will appear for 2 States (what is because the variable list that I put in place for these States has too many characters of text? Is there a way to bypass this limitation?)

  Can someone help me change the javascript code and settings that I use to make the text field to fill in correctly? It is the first project of livecycle that I tried and my first experience with javascript.

  You can use a scrollpane component. Simply create a movieclip with some content you want scrolling, set the ID of this movieclip binding and set the contentPath of the scollpane to this connection ID.

• CS6 inDesign when the text box is set it is not adapt the text with it

  Hi Adobe community.

  In the past, I have been using Adobe CS5.5 and when you use Indesign I would like to make a text box, text entry and when I need the text box to be narrower, as I'm adjusting the box with the text selection tool would be admissible and move and adjust to fit within the box like you were changing the text box. So, you could see the text as you did the box around it more small.

  Now, I just went to do the same in InDesign CS6 but when move the text box, it simply moves the text and the text moves with it (do not meet with setting the text box), so I'm left guessing where the text will be sitting and it provides a few going until she I understand...

  So what I am asking, is there a box I need check preferences or something in CS6 so that text moves I adjust its bounding box, as it moves in CS5.5?

  In the creation of a project, I want to fade at the start in one of the four text boxes in a project at the spearhead of the slide. Once the participant has read the first text box they will be asked to click on one another while the second appears and so on. When the last of them appears a button continue will also be presented with the text box.

  What would be the steps needed to accomplish such an action? I MIME it is just that, an action, but I don't know which. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  Why not just use form buttons as text boxes and hear each point break just before the next form button enters the timeline.  With all the buttons on form staggered along the timeline all what you need to do is create a user click on each of them to reactivate the chronology and to allow the following form appears.

  I just noticed an error in one of my first attempts at Javascript - luckily I don't think that one of my colleagues have noticed yet, but I need to fix it as soon as possible!

  I have two radio buttons naned "Radio Button13". One is for when the person is full time and one for when they are part-time. When the full time button is selected, I get text (that I placed in the value of the button) to fill out in advance a text box below. The text is something like "38 hours per week. Part-time has nothing.

  In the Mouse Up script for full-time, I placed:

  It is not wrong, but it answers my question. If you keep things put in place what they are now, you can use the following custom calculate script:

• Definition of default font for the text box in Acrobat XI

  Projects that I am working, I scan in all copies of documents I acquire and add at the bottom of the first page of the relevant information, that is, the source of recordings, volume, and page, using the tool text box (or typewriter).

  In earlier versions of Acrobat, I could choose a font style once and it has carried over to any subsequent document, I proceeded. In Acrobat Pro XI, it always happens as Minion Pro and I need to change in Arial Black every time. Is there a way to define Arial Black as the default choice for the text box?

  I came across a work-around for this for Acrobat Pro XI.  It is a process in two steps and a little heavy, but it works.

  First, go and add your text box and everything what you need text.  After having done that, select all the text, then bring up a bar of properties of the text box text by placing your cursor in the toolbar area and select 'Properties Bar' top of the page, right click or simply press Ctrl + E.  The properties of the text box bar will appear (floating, but not all the time).  Let the selected text, and then change the font properties to what you need.

  Secondly, deselect the text, select the border of the text box, make a right click and then select "Make current properties default" in the pop-up window.  FYI, the property bar to the box text will be changed from a floating real estate bar at this time, so if you need to make more detailed changes, simply close the bar and back to Ctrl + E to call upwards and make other changes.

  I use Windows 7 64-bit.

• Synchronization of several text boxes in a single Indesign file

  In theory, this problem seems simple enough and there should be a simple way to accomplish my task, but every search I tried to sync text explains only how to thread text boxes.

  What I do is a model that is 4UP on the presentation page. Currently, whenever I make changes to my text, I copy several times change to reflect the change of each instance of my layout on the page.

  I want to do is to synchronize all my text boxes so that changes or updates will be automatically reflected in every instance of the layout. In the past I've accomplished this in Illustrator using symbols and instances of that symbol, but I still have to find a way simlar in Indesign.

  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  Thanks for the comments. You should not repeat or update several references changed in a document individually.

  I did a test on my suggestion, because x - Ref are not supposed to break completely when the context of the source is changed. I saw that I didn't warn you about deleting the cross-reference marker (AKA 'Anchor Text'); When you create a cross-reference to the material of origin, in the same or different documents, InDesign inserts a marker for reference at the beginning of the source paragraph. If it is not visible, select Type > show hidden characters. It looks like a colon (:)) in the indicator of the layer color.

  NOTE: InDesign uses the term 'Destination' to describe subsection which shoots a reference in the position of the cursor when you insert a cross-reference, and he uses the term 'Source' to describe the paragraph from destination that is displayed at the location where the cross-reference is being inserted. This usage derives from terms used for InDesign hyperlinks, where it's raining logical. Depending on your experience pre-InDesign with references in longhand, typewritten, or other applications on the computer, you can find, as I do, contrary to intuition. I think of 'source', as what you shoot in 'destination', as the place where you view what is pulled and "reference" the thing that is pulled in. I also use the term "source document" to describe the document that contains the source of the reference, and I use the term 'document container"to describe the document that contains the reference (the stuff that are fired).

  Thus, when you change the material source of a cross reference in the source document, if you take care of not to delete the cross-reference markers/text anchors created at the beginning of the paragraphs of source, the reference in links hyperlinks/cross-references Panel of the document container to display a triangle of yellow warning for each source of change and you can update in a single action.

  Updating changed references may also be confusing: If no modified references (yellow triangle) are selected in the hyperlinks / Panel cross references are selected (highlighted), you use the update references at the bottom of the hyperlinks button / references Panel, or update hyperlinks reference point / wheel of the panel menu references , EVERYTHING changed references are updated. However, if one or more references in the Panel are selected, the update button or menu item updates only the selected references.

• Values in a dialog box application answering the multi-line text box field

  Hello

  When the user clicks on a radio button in my form a response request dialog box is displayed for the user to enter data.

  The value of the response dialog box is then added to a multiline text box.

  The script is on the mouse to the top of the radio button action and works fine the first time you click on the radio button.

  If the radio button is checked once again, the value of the response dialog box replaces the existing value in the multiline text box.

  What I need to do, is to have the response values show on a new line in the text box whenever you click on the option button.

  Can any advise please how to revise my script to work?

• Special characters in text boxes Acrobat XI (Windows)

  I use Acrobat Pro XI for Windows. At my work we have some documents that we mark upwards using the features of the text box and not insert it text. In the older version of Acrobat I used until this year (sorry - I know not what version), it was easy to insert special characters such as accented letters, the daggers to announce notes, etc., in the text boxes. I could go to the Edit drop-down list and there was a "special character" field I could call, and from there, I would choose punctuation, Greek letters, various and several other choices. It couldn't be simpler. But I can't find a way to add special characters to the text boxes in Acrobat XI. Just to be clear, I'm not talking to modify the text in the original document. I want to talk about adding a text box and then using special characters in the text I'm typing in the box. I was able to type special characters in a Word doc and then copy / paste them in my text box in Acrobat, but it takes a long time and requires sometimes I mess with the font of the text box. Any help with this will be sincerely appreciated.

  Special characters is a thing of Mac not a thing of Acrobat. So you have it on the PC.

  Use the character map application on the PC. (Accessories - System Tools).
