  You are going to buy a new motherboard that cost a small fortune or you try to perform a search on the popular auction site for a second hand Equium A60 (Satellite A60) or second hand motherboard.

  All parts and also the new motherboard can be ordered from the ASP in your country.
  Technicians could directly control this part of the Toshiba.

  So it s you the choice now ;)

  I was wondering is it worth the update, unfortunately, there is no information

  Richard you have some problems with this device? If everything works properly I don't see a reason any BIOS update.

  If you think that the update of the BIOS is necessary, you can try Windows based Bios update but please check the first Description of the Toshiba BIOS update before you continue.

• Tips for an A60 - 181 RAM change - need information:------.

  I have an Equium A60-181 according to the specification, this is a P4 3.20 GHz HT with 2x256MB DDR RAM FSB 533 MHz and ATI 7000 IGP graphics processor.
  Since I bought it 5 years ago, I've had random blue screens of death, the corruption of the system folder (necessary to re - install using the DVD of recovery of product 2 times) although I implemented with her for many years.
  Now this week it blue screens so many times (and green) with different error messages that, after verification, it with memtest86, I had confirmed my suspicions the RAM is faulty.
  I have found what I believe, it's slot compartment memory but I can only find 1 x 256 MB of RAM DO not 2 modules and for some reason it's FSB PC2700 333 MHz DDR RAM 533 MHz as advertised.
  Anyone know where to find the other RAM I opened to all other panels, but all belong to the wireless adapter and it has connections associated with.
  Also is it normal to find a RAM with a speed that is located under the advertised FSB? I am still a bit confused about this because if I had to buy a new memory module, I need to correct type because I've heard quite matched DDR makes Windows unstable.

  some machines have a ram installed under the keyboard...
  and some machines have ram installed directly soldered on the motherboard...

  I think that it is not the ram...
  Renew the thermal grease on cpu and gpu.

  As much as I know, that you cannot order parts for laptop direct from Toshiba.

  You can do this in some independent electronic store, perhaps by approved maintainer Toshiba or on eBay. I recommend you check out eBay. Here you can find many hardware components for various Toshiba laptops.
  With a little luck you can find mainboard for your model of laptop also.

• Equium A60-181 (PSA67E) - cannot find the display driver

  Due to problems with some games I did experiments with other ATI drivers for my laptop.
  It turns out that their support for Open GL is scandalously broken so I tried rolling back the drivers.
  Unfortunately Windows doesn't let me do it because I need the original driver files so tried to download on the Toshiba support page.
  Well although it seems that the Equium A60 - 181 aka PSA67E does not appear as a product more also any attempt to seek A60-181 or PSA67E displays empty hits Unlike Google or Msn.

  What happens here? Please tell me Toshiba did not hold for this laptop isn't exactly new or old it is still worthy of driver / BIOS update support especially when needed.

  Ive took my Equium A60-181 for quite a while now and its been fairly reliable, sound always connected via WiFi to my home network.

  Very recently, however, the icon in the tray system for network connectivity was incorrect. He said always I am not connected to the network... but I am, because the internet works and I can still access the network drive that is located on another computer on the network and network printers.

  Why is the system status bar tells me that I am not connected to the network when I am?

  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  I presume that you have assigned the LAN TCP/IP address and gateway manually parameters and these parameters are not set to automatic. Am I wrong?

  The same message appeared to me. I connected my laptop to the other PC and changed the TCP/IP address settings.
  It was the reason of this message in the taskbar.

  All simply set it to auto again and you will get rid of this annoying message.

• Equium A60 - 181 und external monitor

  Hi I have an Equium A60-181 with connected Ati graphics card in and monitor external 19 "CRT. While the monitor seems to work I ran into a few problems. By turning on the monitor XP prompted me to install drivers I assume that they are for the monitor in question sheet etc.

  It seems in any case that I'm unable to change the resolution or refresh rate of the screen is set to 1024 x 768 @ 60 Hz. I changed the display properties and selected reverse, but when I OK/apply the cursor goes back to 1024 x 768 and the refresh rate is 60 Hz - huh?
  I restarted XP and still have this problem I even Device Manager check for yellow markers so now I'm at loss here is a common problem with Ati?

  Any recommendations would be appreciated.

  I'm not 100% sure but I think that the resolution of 1024 x 768 max for external (second) monitor is restriction of graphics card. Is this the situation even if you use an external monitor just without screen laptop (FN + F5)?

• Equium A60-181: Win XP does not start successfully - the BSOD reboot

  I have an Equium A60-181 which has an operating system problem.
  Loads of XP logo at the beginning, when it happens to show the log on screen, it is a quick blue screen of death error, and it restarts.

  I tried to go into safe mode, but it blocks on atisgkaf.sys.

  Is that what I can do to save the operating system?

  How can I start to diagnose if it's a hardware problem?

  The atisgkaf.sys file belongs to the graphics card driver.
  But as Akuma has proposed, the Windows operating system does not load 3rd party in safe mode drivers.
  This is why the ATI graphics card driver should not affect the start-up procedure.

  However, this is only my personal hypothesis and believe me; nothing is impossible, so a hardware problem might be possible.

  But just a question;
  Have you tried to reinstall the OS?
  The installation process goes smoothly through the unique installation steps?

  I think that the new installation of the operating system is a good idea to find out if it is a hardware or software problem.

  You n t need to install a HDD in particular of Toshiba. You can also use disk of another company.

  Your laptop is 256 MB internal memory and a location is available to expand the memory. I found the information that your device can handle with max 1280MB.

  The compatible memory modules are:
  PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 1 M 25)

  Has anyone got a copy of the disc recovery issued with an equium A60-157 PSA67E as I am trying to get this laptop for work and unable to get its hotkeys control and be able to work.

  Missing drivers can be downloaded from the page of European driver of Toshiba.
  All drivers are available!

  The recovery disc can be ordered for this model of laptop because it s too old.
  Clean install OS Win + drivers is therefore the only option
