  You can't reinstall Vista on a recovery partition you have installed another operating system

  Hello. I use Windows Vista Home Premium for 2009. In the last months, I was faced with a lot of problems and I was wondering if I should re - install the operating system to eliminate the problems or is it better to upgrade to a newer version of Windows? My PC is too slow, it has recently been virus-ed, and every once in awhile, I get an error message saying "operating system not found '. Another problem is that some of the USB ports/CD readers simply do not work.   This problem may occur if one or more of the following conditions are met:

  • The basic input/output system (BIOS) does not detect the hard drive.
  • The hard drive is damaged.
  • Sector 0 of the physical disk has an incorrect or malformed master boot (MBR) record.

    Note Some third-party programs or the alteration of the disk can damage an MBR.

  • An incompatible partition is marked as Active.
  • A partition that contains the MBR is no longer active.

  Contact the manufacturer of your hardware

  Perhaps your best bet is contact the manufacturer of your computer or your hard drive. The manufacturer may have a utility that you can use to perform a more detailed analysis for the damaged areas of the disk and help verify the correct BIOS settings.   That you have a legable Vista product key, then use these installation files to make a .iso and then bootable DVD/USB as shown here:

  This will install Windows Vista with the activation of the phone. Note using your Windows 7 update product key directly with the good Windows 7 .iso file directly should work and you should not need to install Vista. You can, or perhaps not to activate by phone.

  Hey, it's possible the backup file is a file.  You do a right click on the game to Games Explorer and select replays in the menu, or you can make your way to \Saved games.   Go buy a COMMERCIAL of the Spanish version of Windows 7 Home Premium version and do a CLEAN INSTALLATION.
  Note: you will lose all files and install programs when you clean it. Thus, you should save that you want to keep before hand.

• Cannot access the calendar from Windows Vista Home Premium all of a sudden... get error message indicating it is disabled... Help, please!

  After 1 year with the help of Windows Calendar on Vista Home Premium, I'm suddenly not able to use it (impossible to add new appointments and stored all appointments have mysteriously disappeared). I get a message saying "You cannot add appointments to a calendar that is disabled" the details of State "access denied." ... How is - it happened 'out of nowhere '? How to activate it? It's very frustrating... I searched the forums and Microsoft google the question. I found some results suggesting to either change the registry or download the fix automatically and manually merge in my registry. I tried both with no result. I have event tried to remove the old calendar and create a new one... still nothing. Any suggestions? Help, please!

  Sorry, you have a problem with that.  What type of entry you are trying to add?

  Look at the calendar and on the left side, to half way down you will see a small block that will have something like "NYintelligentivnestor schedule" - there is a small block to the left of this one. To activate the calendar, click on the box to place a check mark in it.

  If there are calendar shown in this block, then go to "file" on the main toolbar and click on "new calendar" - one should then appears in a block with a check mark in the box on the left.

  So:

  I bought a new laptop with Vista Home and two Partitions... I would like to install on the second partition "Windows XP pro" (with official key & SP2 included)! But when I run the XP Cd I get an error that the HD is not recognized... So I searched on the forum here, to see if there is a possibility of passby he...

  So what I did:
  (1) I download the "Intel storage drivers" of->
  http://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Filter_Results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2101&OS FullName = Windows * + XP + Professional & lang = eng & strOSs = 44 & submit = Go %21

  (2) I used the Floppy machine, to create a floppy disk with the necessary drivers (also from the above site)

  (3) I downloaded a copy of freeware "Nlite".

  (4) I also downloaded the additional drivers on the "Toshiba" site itself (Lan, storage,...)

  (5) I did a "Xp Pro P200-15N" card and put all the drivers... Including the Exe I downloaded from the link above named "iata76_cd.exe"...

  (6) I have made a new Win XP bootable CD with "Nlite" & added all the drivers that I downloaded and followed the procedure given by "Nlite". He made a new bootable CD (with all the drivers and .exe and .inf, etc...)

  (7) then I boot my laptop with the CD, but it always gives an error on sata drives... (that it can not be found...)

  So my question is... What I'm doing wrong and what should the other drivers I download to make it work? I have an external USB floppy drive... If additional drivers must be added... So I hope that there is someone can help to Ho...

  I install XP for professional reasons. Things Vista Home can not handle...

  The method above does not work for me... So took my USB floppy drive and put the drivers on it (hit 'F6' at the start, added the drivers found on the link above, it install it)...
  Then I could also choose a partition...

  I have Vista Home Premium (very probably OEM as it came with the PC) on a PC and I bought the upgrade license to Windows 8 Pro.
  I understand that it is in terms of the license transition, but here is my problem:
  The CPU does not support NX (and for sure there is no setting in the BIOS for this).
  So I can't move to 8.
  To replace the CPU, I need to replace the motherboard.
  If I replace the motherboard my understanding is I'm losing the license because it OEM.
  So, in reality, I can't switch to Win 8.
  The license, I bought said that I can pass any system running XP, Vista, Win 7 to 8 Win.
  It does not distinguish between older versions of Windows OEM and retail versions.
  For me, it's a huge conflict.
  So the question is:
  Can I change the CPU + motherboard to earn 8? or not?

  It has been some time but I finally had the time to do the upgrade (hardware + software).
  For history and for others who could come on this post with a similar question and be discouraged by responses like this:
  I contacted the technical support of MS and they confirmed that I had a Windows 8 Pro upgrade license and after upgrading my license would Win 8 Pro full-detail (what you want to call it). Essentially, after upgrade, I can reinstall any other motherboard. Of course you can only use a license on a machine at one time.
  (Of course your upgrade license type may be different to mine, so you should check they type of license)
  In any case, what is more interesting, it of that I got the confirmation that I can do a clean install and activate my upgrade license. Not only that, but they recommended the installation of Vista should not be present when installing on 8 to win. I was very skeptical and I asked for an account of the cat to be on the right side. They assured me that the support had made several times and is not a problem.
  And so, I do a clean install on the new motherboard (and a new player) and activated windows 8 with no problems at all.
  It seems very stupid that you can change the motherboard after the upgrade, but could not make the move and the Windows update at the same time. Fortunately, it is not the case.
  To me, it seems that the MS are aware that in you to go from XP (soon), they should also use the materials for the upgrade.
