  It is quite another thing. It is not an internal power supply but the power module.

  You don't need to weld anything. You open the laptop, remove the old module and replace with a new one. Not too difficult though as it takes concentration and following the manual and keep track of which screws go where. It is a very good first laptop repair project.

  If it's a PC and not a laptop, just check with your local computer store or even a Big box store
  such as Best Buy. In the USA they should all be standard on both ends.

Based on this information, it seems that the monitor uses an AC/DC type "power supply unit" adapter that changes the line voltage 100 to 240 volts to something usable by the monitor.   I believe that the PSU is designed for a different style of the case. Discover the Corsair CX500, or CX600 power supplies. They are highly recommended and are favorite forum. In addition, they are only slightly larger than the stock power supply HP and are known to adapt.

  After having BlackBerry models earlier that all use the same type of connecting the power supply, torch uses what I guess is called a micro USB connection in the device rather than the mini USB, so none of these old cards AC work (* beep *...).  The black square wall wart new torch is similar to the white AC to USB connector used by my iPhone.

  Any USB adapter will work. I have a traveling with, with 2 USB ports. I use it for iPod, BBerry, camera, whatever. I wear the adapter and cable for each device - there are now so many variations of the "micro USB" connector to make your head spin. Advantage of having separate cables is that you can use your laptop as a charger (expensive) as well.

  I agree with Al - eX. As you can see on the underside of the adapter AC/DC it can handle voltages range from 110 to 240 volts.

  You need only a new power cord. Therefore, you can contact the service provider authorized in your country. Maybe you can exchange the cable and if you get one free.
  Alternative go to your favorite computer store. Such a cable, you must find there too.
