Need to run an application on an older operating system (10.6.8)

The last BONE, one of my most often used applications can run on is OS 10.6.8.  Which makes more sense: partition the drive and put 10.6.8 on a partition and the latest OS on the other partition for my general uses. or put on a bootable hard drive laptop 10.6.8?  MacBook Pro, processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7, 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, 750 GB storage memory.  Thank you.

If you can allow space 10.6.8 go faster to an internal hard drive.

Lol just a license, not two.

In addition, even if you had two licenses, you couldn't do that. You can
not upgraded from Vista to Windows 8. You can do a cleaning

  • need a cd with older operating system for an iMac of 1995

I have an older iMac, there is not an operating system installed on it, although it works.  I need a CD with his own version of OS. Do you know where I can get a.

The first iMac was introduced in 1998 and comes with OS 8.1.  It is known as the "Bondi Blue" iMac, which is a dark shade of blue-green.  He had a 233 MHz G3 processor and an optical drive tray-loading.  This model was followed by the iMac of fruits of color with a 266 MHz G3 processor.  A faster group of fruit color iMacs were followed, which also had the same optical drive of the plate, but a 333 MHz G3 processor.  Check out this page which lists all iMac models and post back with the model with the plug that matches the one you have.  Knowing that will determine how modern an OS you can install on it.  Check ebay for an OS installation disc, but still looking for the version (Universal Installer) retail disc and not a restore with a software disc incompatible build designed for another Mac model.

  • Cannot run the program in the guest operating system

    Hello

I'm trying to run a program file (an .exe) in a virtual machine via vCO using executeCommandInGuest.

The thing is that the .exe file starts a user interface to display the status (do not ask for entry) when it runs locally. When I call the script of vCO, I get the following error:

Error while executing command (can not run the command: InternalError: a general error occurred: a program could not run on the guest operating system (name of the dynamic Script Module: executeCommandInGuest #40) (name of the dynamic Script Module: executeCommandInGuest #46))

If I try to call a .bat file in the VM that starts the program of the WF works but the .exe file is never started in the virtual machine.

If I specify to run another .exe for example ping.exe only complete control of WF and if I specify a .bat file that call ping.exe he also successfully complete.

There is no silent mode for the .exe I need performed.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Magnus

The problem was caused by the user access control. Put forever does not resolve the problem, disable it through the user interface, restart the virtual machine, and then continue with my script.

  • Error: File Asms needed Windows XP Home edition after repair of operating system. (Windows 7 upgrade)

Original title: asms file necessary windows xp home edition, after operating system repair.

I know it's old but I try to get on my mothers pc so it can transfer files to a drive hard usb. This computer had virus in there and caused certain files be rearranged. I took out the virus

I could not access the Device Manager as he disappeared. The computer does not recognize the hard drive usb, so I decided to fix the pc using the re installation disc.

The computer fixed itself, but now I get this message saying file asms is necessary. I tried to use the steps in this article (311755 KB), but still the same problem. I would like to use the recovery console, but I do not know the password for the administrator of safe mode.
The computer that had repaired the operating system is a dell dimension 2350 and I used the original windows xp disc.
I have a disc of windows 7 but the graphics card on the computer is less than adequate. I was wondering if I could calm down the graphics in the windows Classic theme for windows 7 will work and is it possible to save files because the computer is always on the xp Setup

Your specifications (RAM) are not quite the minimum requirements for WIndows 7 as shown here:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/system-requirements

However, Microsoft recommends 128 MB of RAM for XP as shown here:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314865

So I think that their minimum requirements are a lot of hooey for most environments.  He can run, but you're probably not going to it.

If you want to see if you can get your work in XP (I'm not familiar with this problem), if you do a little research on Google for phrases like claire XP administrator password, I forgot XP administrator password reset XP administrator password, etc.. I'm pretty confident that you will find a way to go beyond this little bump on the road.  Simply clear the password and be on your way.

We are supposed to simply not to tell you how to do such things, so I fall just a few tips :)

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  • Palm Desktop 6.2 vs older operating systems

I have a Treo 650 and I believe that my OS is Palm OS Garnet (?) v. 5.4.8.

Recently I tried to download new apps and they do not want to install it on my Treo.  I have several questions.

    (1) can I install Palm Desktop 6.2?

    (2) I will still be able to use applications that I have now or will they be corrupt or deleted?

    (3) are there indications on how to install somewhere?

    Thank you

    1. of course, you can, but if you're not under Vista or Win7 on your computer it makes no sense at all.

    2. some who depend on Quick Install won't work, and much older maybe isn't able to sync (such as Docs to Go).  Palm Desktop (by the Japan access) is a version without the features of the original software.

  • Backup Time machine to the older operating system?

I have an iMac OSX 10.7.5, I want to give to someone running.  It is backed up with Time Machine.  I also have an old iMac 10.5.8 which is good enough for my use in my Studio running.  It is possible to wipe the iMac running 10.7.5 and restore it on the iMac running 10.5.8?

Depends on what is the minimum version of Mac OS X requires the latest iMac. If it came with 10.7.x installed when it was new, you cannot run a small version of Mac OS X.

  • maintain an older operating system during the migration?

If I restored a backup on a computer that is running the Mountain Lion, to a new mac that comes with El Captitan, I created, it would be possible to continue to use the Lion of mountain on the new machine?

    NO.

In General, the version of Mac OS X Mac ships with, is the oldest version of Mac OS X that have a Mac can run, because the necessary drivers for the new hardware which cones with this Mac.

The only thing you could do is run Mountain Lion in a virtual VMware Fusion, Parallels, or VirtualBox on the new Mac machine.
