Palm Desktop 6.2 vs older operating systems

I have a Treo 650 and I believe that my OS is Palm OS Garnet (?) v. 5.4.8.

Recently I tried to download new apps and they do not want to install it on my Treo.  I have several questions.

(1) can I install Palm Desktop 6.2?

(2) I will still be able to use applications that I have now or will they be corrupt or deleted?

(3) are there indications on how to install somewhere?

Thank you

1. of course, you can, but if you're not under Vista or Win7 on your computer it makes no sense at all.

2. some who depend on Quick Install won't work, and much older maybe isn't able to sync (such as Docs to Go).  Palm Desktop (by the Japan access) is a version without the features of the original software.

Lol just a license, not two.

In addition, even if you had two licenses, you couldn't do that. You can
not upgraded from Vista to Windows 8. You can do a cleaning

Hello alanandmovita, you could try to return to a Windows Restore Point before your latest Microsoft updates where you mentioned that he installed Essentials without your permission.

Go to the start ORB, all programs, accessories, System Tools, System Restore, and look for a date before the updates were installed.

There is a reason, that I never use automatic updates. Windows updates all that Microsoft feels that they want that you want or need or not.

  • need a cd with older operating system for an iMac of 1995

I have an older iMac, there is not an operating system installed on it, although it works.  I need a CD with his own version of OS. Do you know where I can get a.

The first iMac was introduced in 1998 and comes with OS 8.1.  It is known as the "Bondi Blue" iMac, which is a dark shade of blue-green.  He had a 233 MHz G3 processor and an optical drive tray-loading.  This model was followed by the iMac of fruits of color with a 266 MHz G3 processor.  A faster group of fruit color iMacs were followed, which also had the same optical drive of the plate, but a 333 MHz G3 processor.  Check out this page which lists all iMac models and post back with the model with the plug that matches the one you have.  Knowing that will determine how modern an OS you can install on it.  Check ebay for an OS installation disc, but still looking for the version (Universal Installer) retail disc and not a restore with a software disc incompatible build designed for another Mac model.

  • Doestnt Smartphones blackBerry Desktop Manager recognize the new operating system

I downloaded the new OS device for 8520 in my PC, but the Director of office don't informs me of the new OS.does this 7.1 version recognizes the new device OS after being downloaded on PC? Help me guys

BlackBerry Desktop Software will recognize an OS that is released by your carrier.  If you downloaded from another carrier and has not removed the 'seller .xml' file, he will see that it is not your provider and it will not show depending on availability. If you have downloaded it from another carrier, look in these forums for instructions on how to load an operating system on your phone and you will be shown how to properly remove this file, which is located in several locations.

    I hope that helps you.

  • Is BlackBerry Q10 possible to go back to an older operating system?

I looked for a new blackberry, and I really like the specifications and the camera for the Q10.

But I tried the new OS for Blackberry 10 to my mobile phone operator, and I really don't like the gesture-based interface.

I wonder if it is possible to buy a Q10 and then downgrade to an older OS - like maybe OS 7 or 6.

    Help, please

    -A dedicated Blackberry user

No, sorry. OS 10 is all that is available for the Q10. My guess is that showed you the movements in the store was not interested to sell you a Q10. Once you get used to this gesture is very natural and I really like it on my Z10 and Q10 together.

  • The backup of an older operating system to a new operating system

    Original title: OLD BACKUPS

    Hello

I have problems trying to restore files or backups of DVDs that have been created on other computers by using old windows operation operation sysytems since I bought the NEW desktop hp-81414/envy running Windows 8 PC. Someone with the same problem or a response would be much appreciated!

    Glenn

Unfortunately, you have found why you should never use DVD to back up.  A dvd drive may not read another and even the player even 6 months later maybe isn't able to.

You can't 'restoration' of one OS to the other.  You can copy files from one to the other IF the dvd player can read.

  • How to install an older operating system?

I have an old book of mac pro, it s about 7 or 8 years.

Accidentally, I ve installed the new version of the OS and all of a sudden the laptop it s even not connect. In my opinion, is due to the new system and I wonder how to install and old BONES.

    Clues?

The OS X installer should not allow that to happen.

Anyway, if you have a Time Machine and a recovery Partition backup:

OS X El Capitan: revert to a previous version of OS X

  • Need to run an application on an older operating system (10.6.8)

The last BONE, one of my most often used applications can run on is OS 10.6.8.  Which makes more sense: partition the drive and put 10.6.8 on a partition and the latest OS on the other partition for my general uses. or put on a bootable hard drive laptop 10.6.8?  MacBook Pro, processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7, 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, 750 GB storage memory.  Thank you.

If you can allow space 10.6.8 go faster to an internal hard drive.

I have an iMac OSX 10.7.5, I want to give to someone running.  It is backed up with Time Machine.  I also have an old iMac 10.5.8 which is good enough for my use in my Studio running.  It is possible to wipe the iMac running 10.7.5 and restore it on the iMac running 10.5.8?

Depends on what is the minimum version of Mac OS X requires the latest iMac. If it came with 10.7.x installed when it was new, you cannot run a small version of Mac OS X.

    NO.

In General, the version of Mac OS X Mac ships with, is the oldest version of Mac OS X that have a Mac can run, because the necessary drivers for the new hardware which cones with this Mac.

The only thing you could do is run Mountain Lion in a virtual VMware Fusion, Parallels, or VirtualBox on the new Mac machine.

  • Palm Desktop or MissingSync or PockeMAC - someone at - it a preference?

Hello. Well, I finally understood ISync will not work with sync my Centro with my Macbook so now I have to decide whether to use palm desktop or a 3rd party like missingsync or pocketmac. I have no experience with any of them would be more appreciated your comments! Thank you! Christine

Hello Christine and welcome on Palm forums.

I used Palm Desktop and Mark/Space-the Missing Sync for Palm OS on Mac.  Of the two, I pay money for the Missing Sync.  It is a much better than Palm Desktop application when you use the Mac.  I have not used before PocketMac.  I checked their site and they don't seem to have a client for Palm OS 5, which is the operating system on your Centro.  So it seems island at the moment, the Missing Sync is the only real alternative.

I have two main gripes with Palm Desktop for Mac.  The first is all the evil which I have seen on this Board of Directors and the Brighthand.com trying to get the software installed.  It must be super easy, but for some people, it's a nightmare.  The other big problem is the inexplicable distribution in the HotSync ability, which requires generally that you try and you reinstall the Palm Desktop software that refer to my first complaint.  To get an idea what I'm talking about, check out this thread on the question of transport of Mac OS monitor.

I really like the Palm.  And I've been using Apple computers since 1984, but Palm Desktop for Mac is totally well.

  • How to install a second operating system on a partition on the same hard drive under xp?

Hello!.. How can I install a second operating system on a partition on the same hard drive under xp?... Thanks in advance!

With the elders the older operating systems, in this case 98, has prior installation.

Is that of Vista as soon as it does not matter what operating system is installed first to do a dual boot.

With Vista, you can then install XP as the second installed the operating system in a dual boot.

But this isn't like you do is 98 or XP...

    See you soon.

I bought a laptop with Windows Vista. My father also uses the laptop, but hate Vista, so it has installed an older operating system. Fortunately now he has his own laptop, and I am free to remove the old operating system (it slows things down!). How can I do this without a backup of Windows Vista disk?

    Thanks for any advice.

    Hello

I suggest you go through the steps and check if it helps.

    Right click on my computer

    (a) click on properties

    (b) go to the Advanced tab

    (c) click on settings under startup & recovery

    (d) change the seconds to display the operating system to 0

    (e) to the operating system you want to start the default operating system to help the drop drop-down

    (f) click Ok

    (g) click on apply

    (h) click Ok

I would also ask you to contact the manufacturer of the hardware for the recovery media. You can also check if the system has a recovery partition, and if so, try to access, which will reinstall the original operating system.

  • Palm Desktop version 6.2.2 alarms: Vista operating system

I have a Treo 700 p and loaded the latest Office Update (version 6.2.2) on a new processor w / Windows Vista 64-bit as OS.  Alarms do not work even if they are set to run from the outset if Palm Desktop is open or closed.  No noise, no popup windows and I'm lost with them!  Please indicate if you know how to solve this problem - thanks!  April

Just did a test on my computer alarm portable 64-bit Vista.  No problem, pulled alarm immediately as planned.  Don't forget the sound is not muted, turned too low, etc.

My settings: Tools/Options/alarms tab - selected always available and inside boxes checked 3.  Play the chosen alarm to see if you can hear it.

Only other suggestion I can do - turn off UAC (User Account Control).   Control user/accounts/Turn User Account Control Off.
