  It seems layer 0 with a (white) fill, but the 1 layer is transparent, not filling that could interact with another layer with a blending mode.

  Also because it is transparent the layer effects will not be highlighted. Try a white fill on the empty layer.

  I got monthly Acrobat XI, computer fell down, when I open my Adobe ID to download to new computer that XI is no longer there it is DC and it downloads but I get error 16 when I try to open it.  Have Windows 7.  I did all the suggestions on your website and but it still does not work.  Becomes very frustrated, as has happened for 2 weeks now.
