A few questions on Satellite A135-S2386

Hi everyone out there:
I want to get a Toshiba A135-S2386.
I was told that the battery lasts for not more than 2 hours (which is very short time).
Are there devices that I can get in order to extend the life of the battery? Any ideas on price in USD?
Thanks in advance for your comments and advice.
Best,
Debora (Argentina, South America)

Hello

I think that such a machine powerful doesn´t have a long battery time, since all components are very powerhungry. The machine is more intended to stand as a desktop replacement and to acquire a battery while you just have to optimize and adapt the powersaver parameters, so maybe you could have fun any longer with the machine on battery mode.
I have a Satellite A100 which I use mostly on my desk and sometimes so I use it on my balcony when a battery running I turn most of the options like brightness screen and processor at low speed and then I can work about 1 3/4 hours with this machine. (surf wireless internet and wrote a few letters).

Regarding your question of this "any device": no, there is no device to extend the battery life, but maybe you can find a battery stronger in the internet to buy. I can't promise you, but sometimes there are many vendors who sell such things. (batteries with a capacity more :))

But I Don t really know the price of this machine, the best solution is to google a bit around, because no one can tell you a good price.

I hope I could answer some of your questions.

Good bye

Hi guys, I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-S2386.
I had once repaired because it is over heated and died.

One problem I noticed, the fool who fixed, he didn't put it back correctly, and the DVD player has been hot glued...
I fixed in March, April. But I'm used to, I can anyway...

However, there is a significant problem.
Written DVD player and bed PERFECTLY well in windows, however it cannot not be detected in the BIOS or what not.
As XPInstallation Windows, Vista install detects it but BIOS can't.

Can I update the firmware of the DVD-RAM? It's years Panasonic UJ-840.
Or I can update the BIOS of the machine itself?

You can boot from the CD? If the boot of CD work, then the BIOS is to see it properly.

You could try an update of the BIOS anyway, go to http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

  • I want to install Windows XP edition SP2 family in Satellite A135-S2386

    Help, please.

I want to install Windows XP Home SP2 for my Satellite A135-S2386 edition.
Where can I get the drivers?

    Hello

The SATA (Intel Matrix Storage Manager) driver must be installed first, if you want to reinstall the operating system XP on this laptop.
The Intel Matrix Storage Manager can be downloaded also from Intel or the Toshiba Web site the page we. You should know that your laptop has been designed and delivered only for the American market, so you must use the Toshiba drivers from an American Internet site.

However, I found many comments on Intel Matrix Storage Manager here in this forum.
Then maybe you should use the Forum search option advanced for more useful discussions on this topic.

It is a Toshiba laptop that was specially designed for the American market.
You should visit the Web from Toshiba site we and should look for here.

If you will not find the correct drivers, then you might try some single XP drivers went out for another series of laptop computers which was equipped with the same features as your A135-S2386.

  • Need drivers toshiba satellite A135 S2386 XP Professional

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A135 S2386 originally shipped with windows vista Basic, but he now has windows xp professional installed and there are 2 unknown pilots missing in Device Manager.  I think we're the bluetooth driver and the other unknown device is probably for the media programme. There are 4 buttons on the Panel of this laptop the cd rom. dvd 1-button control is a button of media, but toshiba Web site has only driver for windows vista and windows 7, I can't find these drivers for the program media and bluetooth for windows xp professional. Can anyone help

Thanks in advance for your help

Devices that have a problem with the drivers should be listed under problem devices in msinfo32...

    • Click Start
    • Click on run
    • Type msinfo32.exe and press enter
    • Enlarge (click on +) the components section
    • Expand devices problem

Each issue must have an entry that looks like the format that...

    ID of device PNP PCI\VEN_1011 & DEV_0009 & SUBSYS_21140A00 & REV_20\3 & 267A616A & 0 & 50

You can search the FRI and DEV (in the example above 1011 and 0009 respectively) codes at http://www.pcidatabase.com/

This can direct you to a place where you can get the drivers. After being on a similar route for someone else with a Tosh, I'm afraid you're out of luck.

Are you aware that XP will end of life in less than a year? Probably not a smart move to go back to XP in the long term.

    Hey ^ ^

I have a few questions on my Satellite Pro 4600

    1. How do I remove the keyboard of an intern?

    2. How can I open the laptop, to add a pci card? or watsch the CPU?

    THX!

    Hello

to remove the keyboard, simply remove the long plastic on top of the keyboard cover. Just take a flat blade screwdriver gently push the upper part where the F1 - F12 keys are under the plastic cover and the elevator that plastic cover.

Why do you want to open your machine? You want to install an additional WIFI card or what? And what do you mean with "watsch" the CPU?

    Could you please clarify it?

  • Problem with USB port and touchpad satellite A135-S2386

    Welcome!

Laptop Satellite A135 in Houston, I bought about a year ago, it was working fine until last Friday. All my USB ports stoped working. I have power to the usb ports, but Windows Vista recognize any tool that is connected to the computer. Only what I get is USB is not recognized, or something like that. The same situation is under Linux (ETCH Deiban), the USB ports does not.

Another thing is touchpad. It does not at all, regardless of it's Linux or Windows. Stoped working in Sunday.
I used the cd recorvery and reinstall Vista, but the problems still exist.

Please tell me what to do with this problem.

    See you soon

    Hello

If the problem persists after using the original recovery media is certainly hardware related issue. I recommend you contact the nearest authorized service provider. They check your laptop.
Sorry, but I really don't think you can do it alone to solve this problem.

  • A few questions about Satellite A100

    "A100" computer laptop with Vista A software? Â £349.00

This is the laptop that I am looking for my partner, but I'm not really savvy, I have a few questions which I hope you can help me with computer.

First of all, my partner has just started a small business and she will need it for email and internet surfing and download songs (Please keep in mind, I don't have a lot of money to play with) this laptop will be all good for her? Speed and a lot of memory is not what really matters.

Secondly, this laptop can burn music and DVDs on a disc?

Third, it is a good price? the laptop is for sale with LITTLEWOODS and I can still go down 10%.

Please help as soon as possible because I need to order it in the next few days, please, do not forget to budget and the need for a half decent mid-range laptop.

Mant thanks for your help in this matter

    Russell

    Hi Russell,

From your description of the use to which this laptop will be, I would have no concern that this should work great. You say exactly what A100 model you propse to buy, but I think they all had an optical drive DVD - RW installed so that they should all be able to burn CDs and DVDs in an adequate way. With regard to Internet access and e-mail, the A100 will be quite able to do both functions.

A £349 price is extremely competitive, given that most of the models seem to retail at around the label has £400 with a 10% discount axtra I would waste no time in pulling it.

By the way, welcome to the forum, it is an excellent source of information and help.

    Kind regards

  • A few questions on Satellite P100-188

Hi, I have a few questions about my new machine I bought recently so please bare with me during their reading...

    (1) I already owned the P30-145 and the sound was superb. The P100-188 is supposed to have the HD + sound stronger. I don't think so... This thing is much quieter and more slender compared to my previous machine!

    (2) the Nvidia badge sticker is missing inside! Normally I would not be embarrassed, but there is a small indentation carved especially for her with nothing on it! - and so a strange look.

    (3) in the bios, there is an option to change the amount of "fan noise" makes the machine. I've set it to 'performance', which is the option to forget noise and go full steam ahead. However, the fan harldy lights! Every now and then, he gives a quick 2 second air burst.

The other day, I was playing the new game 'fear' that works amazingly I would say. But STILL the fan doesn't seem to turn on a large part. I worry a little bit, I must say.

If anyone has read the lot of this right, thank you. Also could you please answer if you had similar problems with yous P100s.

    Thank you

    Hello

    1. as far as I know this unit P100 speakers are placed under the keyboard.
On other units, the speakers are placed above the keyboard. If you use the keyboard it of possible you hands cover the speakers. It is also possible that the volume of the speaker is a little lower because of the miniaturization of portable. However, you cannot compare different notebooks series because strains have another advantage than the other series.

2 I read your first assignment on the missing sticker and I can t believe that such thing is a really a problem for your. I'm don't know if all the P100 was delivered with or without the sticker, but you can contact the dealer where you purchased this device and ask him a label. However, my laptop has not even a sticker, and it's not a problem for me.

3 if the fan is set to performance so that means that CPU notebooks will run with a full performance, which is possible. In this case the CPU is going to produce a lot of heat and the cooling module must run with maximum performance to cool the CPU and decrease the temperature. If temperature decreases the arrested fan or run with low performance. It is a simple fact.

  • A few questions on Satellite P750-02

New on the support forums, do not know how to post my system chart etc so sorry if I break all its propriety. I have a Satellite P750-02, and so far he gave me a number of questions. I am running windows 7 x 64.

    (1) on the first day, the desktop gadgets did not work. There is no sidebar that I had seen on other computers, and when I put the gadget, a second copy appears that does not move, or can be clicked. I am not able to change the settings on any gadget either.

    (2) recently I installed some updates via windows update. I was also playing with auslogics boostspeed (an optimizer pc of sorts) so I do not know who caused it. Anyway what happened was the buttons mute / without wire/play/pause and the button that enables / disables the touchpad have been disabled (physical buttons on the laptop, not the screen).

I was able to activate the touchpad power before I connect to the computer and can also toggle with the FN key. However, when I open the Toshiba Button support, all fields are empty. I click on ' default values and I get a message "the specified button registration information has been deleted.". ". I think that this may be the root of the problem.

I tried to use things like the system recovery and my some of the restore points, but this did not help. I tried to install all the latest drivers as well.

    (3) the webcam is aaaatrocious! I have looked everywhere only to find suggestions like 'remove the plastic', 'contrast adjustment' etc. It is much too dark and lack many settings that I thought were standard. Y at - it a patch or an update that resolves this problem of brightness? I saw the other much better webcams under the same conditions. I used to have a usb webcam, I got from aldi for $20, which had many more features and gave a clearer than this webcam image.

Again, sorry if I write this review wrong, but useful at all would be much appreciated!

The FN keys are controlled by the Flash Card Support utility you will need to restart this software which is in
All programs-> Toshiba-> Flash memory card Support utility

As far as I know the internal webcam supports Pixcel (1280 x 1024) of 1.3 M resolution and needs a clear and bright lighting. The goal of these internal cams is much smaller than the lens of outdoor cams (even if you buy a webcam 20).

The smallest lens can not detect the same amount of light as a camera with lens more you can see the webcam with cams smartphone behavior even if the webcam would support high resolution (5 M pixels and higher), the goal would be not possible to produce a good image because of the small lens.

  • Eco utility + a few questions about Satellite P855

Hi guys, I'm happy user of Satellite P855-11 q. Unfortunately, due to software issues, I had to reinstall Windows on my computer system. This resulted in the following problems:
-I can't use the software utility eco-, I downloaded the driver from the Toshiba website, but it is not working properly. An error occurs all the time, not to mention the fact that the eco utility button doesn't work at all!
-I don't know how I can use my backlight led (is there a driver for that?)
-FN button does not work for the dimming / brightening up the screen.

Thank you in advance for help!

Just a question at the beginning: you have installed original recovery image (WIN7 64-BIT HOME PREMIUM) that you got with your laptop or your own version of the OS?

  • A few questions on Satellite L50-B-1HJ

    http://www.Toshiba.be/NL/laptops/satellite/satellite-l50-b/satellite-l50-b-1HJ/

    Hello guys

just wondering if its normal for this model to have a very little noise in his hard drive?... and also it clearly says truBrite® HD TFT display high brightness with aspect ratio 16: 9 LED backlight
internal resolution: 1366 x 768 in the specs, but why not not good as other notebook computer display... It's bright other led backlit screens are better... and I don't know if it is a device with the laptop, because sometimes when you go to a dark page and go to a blank page, the brightness decreases and then increases after a few seconds or a minute then...

    any ideas?

    Hello

It s nothing unusual if a HARD drive create a sound. It happens more often during the reading or writing of data.

Don t so worry about this but note: you should always create a backup from time to time because a HARD drive failure can happen unexpectedly.

As you say; the laptop was equipped with a 15.6 LED HD display with resolution 1366 x 768. Following the display, the display brightness may vary.

As far as I know that this kind of display supports the 200nit max brightness (nit is a unit of visible light intensity allows to specify the brightness)

However, the brightness of the display can be decreased and increased by using the function keys (F-keys)

In addition laptops equipped with the graphics card AMD supports the option called AMD Vari Bright which saves energy consumption by optimizing the contrast of the image.
This feature can be turned on and off in the center of engine control AMD Vision.

In AMD/ATI control center select power power play.
You will find the box power play that enables or disables the function light vari.

I suppose that similar functionality is in the settings of the GPU from Intel in case your laptop would support Intel GPU as well.

  • A few questions on Satellite Pro S300-121

    Hello

We bought 12 of these laptops last July, I installed Windows XP Pro but have had problems with about 5 of them on and outside since then. The main problem is no output to the screen, power light turns on but no screen output, only medium difficulty is to press and hold the power button, close and turn on and maybe 2nd or third time it works. I have check the VGA settings in the BIOS and it is defined both as when I put it on auto it was even more of an issue.

I note also with these portable 5 BIOS pose as I set the SATA mode to IDE when installed XP but from time to time, just the BIOS that resets and passes it to AHCI this cause the laptop to blue screen, it is easily fixed, but I wouldn't keep doing this!

The last time that that's happened, this morning the BIOS clock has been fixed at a date in 2008, I know this indicates a dead battery but I have the same questions about 5 of these laptops possibly a bad batch of batteries of BIOS (I understand these things happen).
If anyone else has had similar problems with this model and if so could you let me know please.

    Andy

Are these laptops left alone for a long time? Maybe the CMOS battery is empty, what can happen faster if you leave the laptop into sleep/Hibernation Mode and the main battery is flat.

Two weeks ago, I bought a new laptop

Can I remove the battery and use via the charger only

Is this the best or what?

    Another question

I noticed a slow device, why?

    > Can I remove the battery and use via the charger only
Yes, but I don t understand why you should do it.
    > Is this the best or what?
Better to do what? In my opinion you should not do this. Leave the battery inside.
    > I noticed a slow device, why?
    Which device? What is slow?

  • A few questions about satellite L10-186 and L10-102

Some stores in my city model offers a L10-186. The technical parameters are described the same L10 - 102 (only the amount of RAM is different).
I can't find detailed information because the L10-186 model does NOT exist on Toshiba pages (!)

    Nobody knows:
    1. what exactly are the differences between L10-186 and L10 - 102?
    2. If I buy an extra battery - universal battery fits all laptop L10 for example can I use it with L10-101 too?

Alternatively, if Toshiba has a support email address in order to write and ask? I can't find contact e-mail with Toshiba experts anywhere.

Thanks for your help in advance,
    Peter Thaler

    Hi Piotr

I guess satellite L10-186 is your specific country and you can't find it on the site of Toshiba Europe. If you find any information on the Toshiba site please try to find a dealer in your country that sells this laptop. I checked on Google Ant lots from the southeast of Europe.

The only difference I have found is the RAM. L10 - 102 has only 256 MB of RAM and 512 MB of RAM L10 - 186.
As far as I know that the battery needs to adapt to the L10 series.

    Good luck!
