NEITHER 9234

Maximum sampling frequency for the NI 9234 is given as 51.2 kech. / s in documentation NOR. This means that for a House to measure collection measures of 3 different instruments rate is 51.2 kiloSample/second/3 = 17 kiloSample/second. It's 17 000 samples/second. The number seems very high. Could someone please confirm if this is correct?

As noted by Jeff, a 9234, one ADC per channel.  So if you're sampling 3 channel 51.2 kech. / s, then you get 153,6 kech. / s.  To 3 bytes per sample, this means you broadcast 460.8 Kbps.  It is well within the ethernet or USB, specification according to the frame that you use.  I hope this helps.

Thank you

  • NEITHER 9234 with quasi static analog voltage

    Hello

I have a NI 9234 (4 channels + / IEPE 24-bit 5V) attached to a chassis cRIO module. This module is ideal for accelerometers and microphones where the tension is in constant evolution (ie; measures of variation rates).

I also have a module OR 9237 (4 channels 24-bit full-bridge module analog input) attached to the same cRIO. This module is ideal for measure variable voltages of strain gauges (quasi static and dynamic loads).

The attached graph shows the two channels, collected synchronously, but as you can see the (red trace) cell breaks down (as it should), but then drifts back to zero on its own, when in fact it should remain low just like the extensometer is beam. After all, the two sensors are physically secured.

Q1: Would that have something to do with AC/DC module 9234 internal coupling?

Q2: Is it really possible to collect "quasi static" ongoing tensions by using a NI 9234 module?

No explanation as to why this occurs, or if there is a way to remedy this would be appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Andreas

Coupling AC/DC must do a lot with your question. In mode AC voltages static will be fitered outside and the 9234 measure indeed only change voltages. In DC mode, the voltage goes directly to the AD converter and you can also detect static tensions.

A minute of Googling gave me the answer, this load cell electric piezo can measure dynamic changes, as any charge will escape the path the lowest resistance and the signal will go to zero after a certain time. I guess the other device you were using higher internal resistance (which is relatively low on the 9234), so it takes more time to what he flees, but he also took on the picture you attached your second try.

  • NEITHER 9234 Channel Config

    I have a NI 9234 inside a cDAQ, and I was wondering:

Can I configure each channel individually, while measuring the two at the same time?

So far, I have to choose Toggle both on a property node, and not what I need.

    William,

You can of course! Please take a look at this article:

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/3AD6CCE935192B4086256F6B0079CB1F?OpenDocument

The last paragraph is the most relevant: If you want to have different settings on each channel used, the best thing to do is to create a channel DAQmx of different types of measurement for each of your different settings. These different channels DAQmx can always be used within a single task DAQmx. For example, if you have three starters of micro and single voltage, you can create a type of measurement microphone and a type of tension using the DAQmx create channel VI. The channel will be associated with three physical channels while channel voltage will be associated with one. Voltage channel can have different settings, factors, coupling, the fat and IEPE properties compared to the microphone channel.

  • NEITHER 9234: sampling rate: cRIO, FPGA

For the NI 9234 module, before Panel block diagram of my my cRIO FPGA code is as below.

The sampling rate (speed) is selectable between certain values as shown below.

You have an idea how I can do the sample with a lower rate that is smaller than the option of character (1.652 ksps / s)?

    Hi Cashany,

Take a look at this link. Page 16 describes the limitation that you run in. The main time base are divided essentially only toward down to some data because of the way the camera rates physically handles analog and digital filitering. So it's not really a way to divide the beyond that point.

  • Configuration of the basic Source of time to master for the 9234

I have several cDAQ modules I use to collect data.  I use vi to Write can Express to save data to a file of PDM.

When you examine the recorded data files, the measured data from NI 9215 provide pleasant timestamps to match how the DAQmx task has been set up--delaying the sampling frequency of 1000 with a 1 ms in the While loop.  However, although in the same vi - different tasks, but the same while loop - horodateurs of the NI 9234 do not correspond to the task of DAQmx implemented - sampling frequency of 1000 with a 1ms delay. After reading the material provided with the NI 9234, I found that maybe the machine clean master Timebase Source. There were documents that says he can be configured to be originally of Timebase of Master for the other modules:

Configuration of the basic Source of time of the master for the NI 9234 (Interface FPGA)

It is desirable to have the timestamps for data measured across all modules to match. We do not have the FPGA Module for LabVIEW. Is there a method in LabVIEW for all modules use the same master time base Source?  I assumed that because all the data collection has place in the same while loop by using the time delay of 1 ms it was forced through the code. This hypothesis seems incorrect from my review of the PDM data files.

The NI 9204 provides a trigger only.

    Hi MgDAQ,

An important concept to note is that the 9234 uses a delta-sigma converter and a clock of oversampling to read analog data. There is an inherent delay of entry due to analog and digital filtering built-in. Since the 9215 has a lower resolution there will be a lag the 9234 and 9215 finished. Hey simon27,

When you have installed DAQmx, did you also install text code support? There are several examples that should have installed with DAQmx which is very helpful in getting you started. To detect changes in the digital input, you need to compare the current value to the previous. The easiest way to do this is to plug the output of digital playback on a shift register. The Boolean function involves will tell you when a transition has taken place.  See the central part of the image below. If you exchange the true and the false case of case structures, you not the inversion function.  Look at the help file for more information on what the function actually implies.

You must also change the wiring of the name of input for writing custom file FIle.vi so that the name is automaticlly changed.  Depending on what you want the naming system to be, that it can be simple or rather complicated.

  • Sync module NI 9205 with NOR-9234

    Hello

I have a cDAQ-9178 chassis with 4 x accelerometers IEPE PCB 16 absorbent of NOR-9234 (DSA). I have a NOR-9205 I intend to use to acquire the power of 4 problems. The NI - 9234 s are synchronized through their extensions in a single task. I would add the NOR-9205 to the chassis and synchronize it with the NOR - 9234 s. I have the following questions:

    1. Calendar synchronization

How to properly START and the NOR-9205 CLOCK synchronization with the NOR - 9234 s? PXI I export the master St DSA. WHICH device (OR-9234 or NOR-9205) should export WHICH signals to WHOM?

    2. even or parallel task

Since I produce a TDMS file in its task of NOR - 9234, it would be nice if I could simply to ADD the OR-9205 to this task to develop this unique TDMS with extra 4 channels of the NOR-9205 file. Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi golubovski,

    > Are you saying my task of canal expansion can fire them OR - s and NEITHER-9205 9234 with its 32 channels of multuplexed HAVE? How to recognize which modules can be combined in this way convinient?

Yes. With the cDAQ-9178, any set of AI modules can be included in the same task and in most cases that apply to the AO and DIO as well, but you cannot mix a, AO and DIO in the same spot. The NOR cDAQ-917 x manual goes into more details on what combinations of modules, the types of channels and the tasks are possible.

    > I am aware since I worked so far with the PXI - 4472 DSAS. How well can correlate between the NI 9234 - and the NI9205?

Well, I wanted to make sure that you did not know that it is something that you'll probably need to take into account. On the top of my head, I don't know the answer to this question.

    > As far as I know, in which case I use dummy DAQ with the NOR - 9234 to offset 40 clock cycles I guess I'll need to separate the tasks - how to integrate viewers into a single stream of TDMS?

If you use two separate tasks and you are using the built-in support of DAQmx for TDMS logging, then you will get flow TDMS separated for each task. Note that a dummy read will still record to the PDM file, then maybe it will not work in your case.

If you use the TDMS API to write to the PDM file, you can do the preliminary processing of data before it is written in a single stream, but there is some trade-off between ease of use and efficiency: either you write data point floating in the file (easier but less effective), or you have to deal with scaling (most effective raw data (, but harder to do).

Another approach is to put all the modules in the same task and compensate for the delay of the filter after reading the data from the PDM file.

    > Also, for fixed 3.2 µs I have to calculate how many cycles given the actual sampling frequency or is there another method?

If you filter delay compensation by removing a whole number of data samples, then Yes. However, there are other methods of data processing that can compensate for a number that is not part of the sample clock periods. I don't have a recommendation, but maybe someone else does?
