  Hi guys,.

  I have Setup mirroring wink and I added the correct AER and is showing as reproducing... BUT when I try to move a virtual machine to the store of data replication... or even to create a file on the issue on the source site. It fails with the call 'FileManager.MakeDirectory' of object 'FileManager' on vCenter Server 'vCenter2008.gotham.com' failed.

  This screams to me a matter of rights. I have configured the rights using the web client (OnCommand System Manager), if I give the hosts Root access to NFS, and SRM/CRT export doesn't see the NFS data store and use it for replication of table, its in a few articles. Guests must read/write access only to make it work.

  But even with the hosts having read/write, I can't create something on this NFS datastore on my source site.

  The NFS datastore on the Test/DR site is mounted read-only on the recommended such hosts in other posts and restricted on the NetApp side

  In its current form... it seems ABR works (according to the webclient service, it is show the outbound replication of table), but it is not really taking anything but empty?

  First of all, I want to make sure that you are talking about an export NFS used as a data store and not a logic unit number used as a data store. You mention both, but your configuration, it seems that you use NFS, not a protocol of SAN (iSCSI, Fibre Channel).

  If you use NFS, then you need root permissions rw and on export. Check out the KB below the link for more details. Looks like your Simulator is 7-mode of operation, please consult this section and not the "cluster Data ONTAP: section.»

• NetApp OnTap 7 G and ESX 4 support?

  Customer has an IBM NS5600 of brand running Ontap 7.3.1.1.  I have a hard time knowing if 7.3.1.1 supports the ESX 4?  Between IBM and Netapp, the support sites aren't helping anything.

  If someone can post the link to the ontap compatibility list, that would be cool, but a simple 'yes' or "upgrade to version x" would work too.

  My understanding is that SnapMirror is no suspension, so as a result, you will only get consistent backups fail?

  My question is, when you use the NetApp storage replication adapter in Site Recovery Manager, you now get supported in standby, as MRS can work alongside the matrix to orchestrate the recovery correctly?

  Necessary for suspension of application with NetApp NetApp SnapManager.

  SRM does not add any capabilities of demand for NetApp mise en veille (or another provider of table). SRM monitoring, can trigger and in some cases reverse replication, but it is not change/impact how replication is running.

  If you perform a scheduled migration (or a failover of DR and MRS can communicate with servers SRM & vCenter protected site), SRM will replicate storage, turn off the system VMs graciously and then happen again so it is not necessary in these cases of app-compatible replication.

• SRM on Netapp installation

  I put ESX servers (3.5) for 2 sites Netapp FS2050 2 x and 2 x VC and SRM installed on physical servers (VC and SRM installed on the same server) for the site recovery solution 2. I had the SRM while all the equipment working on a single site, servers ESX of DR, VC/SRM and NetApp FS2050 for DR site have now moved to the site of Dr. Unfortunatelly Netapp renamed guy DR table and reconfigured my LUN , even if they say that they have created them as before, I can't get the SRM works now.

  I can create the site of twinning, but during the configuration table, I see not all the tables on the last screen 'review replicated storage'. I found the DR ESX servers can see the LUNS replicated under the heading "storage card", but under 'storage' is no VMFS volume. I did the installation of SRM several times before and sure that the DR ESX servers should be able to see replicated VMFS volumes (I remember seen them before). Could you please confirm that volumes VMFS replica should be levied on the ESX of DR servers? I don't think that there is nothing can be done on the ESX site to see replicated VMFS volumes, and set up the berries as an Assistant "Set table" is simply a confirmation of the correct configuration of the replicated tables. I have set the LVM.disallowsnapshotLUN = 0 but still cannot see these VMFS volumes.

  Does anyone know what could cause the DR ESX not seen those reproduced VMFS volumes? misconfiguration on Netapp arrays?

  Also received a release of VMware States yesterday that there is a problem with the berries HA, SRM and Netapp on SRM U1 and recommend downgrade to SRM 1 until it is resolved. I will go down to 1.0.0 but I really think I should be able to see these VMFS volumes and tables don't know not configured correctly.

  If I understand you correctly, you want your ESX in the recovering site will see the VMFS replicated from the protected site?

  You should not see them on the ESX in the recovery of the site, because the SRM mapped to them during the performance of "Recovery Plan".

  The reason you don't see them in the ESX in the recovering site, is that the VMFS are read as the status, because they have been replicated.

  in the moment that you will break the connection between the sites, the VMFS will be seen in the 'memory', but again, you must do that, MRS will do it for you.

  Regarding the problem with the AP on Netapp and SRM, VMware is aware of this problem.

  After a few tests in our environment, we realized that the problem is in the SRA 1.08 and not in the SRM u1.

  NetApp also aware of this situation and they supposed to release fix for the SRA in a few weeks.

  SRM not u1 should work with 1.08 SRA.

  I contacted my storage team. It was with License Manager (ACM) advanced copy number. After license ACM registry in SRA Database of SRM server, everything was fine and I was able to protect all remaining VM.

  I'm at the stage of planning for a replacement of SAN.  I need to find a painless and easy to migrate an RDM EMC for NetApp RDM.  He must remain in physical mode as it was created for a MS cluster in two boxes of ESXi.  The research I've read said that you must use tools such as the SAN, but when you have two WHO do not play nice with them what your options are?

  Although it would be possible to migrate the RDM using vmkfstools, I think that you will have less downtime with help e.g. robocopy. With robocopy, you can make a copy of the original, while the old ONE is still active and perform a final synchronization of data just before moving to the new LUN.

  I installed the latest version of SRM in our environment. We have 2 IBM midsize v7000 storage on primary site and disaster. We use array based replication.

  I have configured groups of consistency for all LUNs replicated through v7000 storage.  All LUNS are replicated successfully. I installed the last IBM midsize SRA on two SRM server. There is no problem...

  Everything is ok. But; When I try to create protection MIS group, I couldn't see LUN separately. If you look at the images below, you will understand what I mean;

  I have four different coherent group on v7000.

  I see all the cohesive group of v7000 under the SRA through SRM.

  

  IT'S MY PROBLEM! All LUNS must be separately! But I see a group of data store! It must be like on the right side. I want to create different Protection Group all LUNS. But I couldn't choose lun separately.

  Check if any of your virtual machines have VMDK on all LUNS, because you'll be able to create a Protection Group separately for each single logic unit number if a virtual have virtual disks on more than one logical unit number.

  I have 2 servers, one with ESX 3.5 fU1 Foundation as a protected site and other ESX 3.5 U3 in mode assessment on recovery site.

  CLARiiON CX4-120 with FLARE 4.29 on two sites with fiber mirror active conection.

  Virtual Center 2.5.0 (trial mode), SRM 1.0.1 (trial mode) and EMC MirrorView SRA 1.4.0.15 are installed on both servers.

  I have the virtual machine on Mirrorview/s LUN replicated and SRM connection, management table, the mappings of the inventory and protection group configured on the protected site.

  Plan of stimulus is configured on the recovering site, and when this plan is stable or running - error has occurred (error in the photo and log attached).

  Can you help me? May be a few steps are missing... hm...

  It seems also the newspapers have no consistency groups to be created. It is also a requirement with the SRA Mirrorview (well, it used to be, not sure about the SRA new).

  The effect of light, it seems that this has been done behind closed doors. Dolly in a clear table set in place. I'm guessing that streaks of light might be a goal, or it could be something like Trapcode Starglow. A little blurry and maybe a blending mode has been added for the lights mix. You can probably build up a false set in After Effects and use third-party plug-ins third parties to sell the effect. He has moved the device plug-ins available, but you simply keyframe scale and the effects of position to simulate camera shake.

  We offer you to have SRM for DR site deployment. The DR site is synchronized with netapp SRA snapmirrror, controlled by the console SRM5.0. Recovery site has no FCOE, only iSCSI and NFS license availble. Always RDM but using iScsi. vCenter 5.0, 5.0, netapp ONTAP8.1 2040 esxi.

  My questions are:

  1. If VMware SRM support DR failover for this case with the different protocol, PROD is FCoE, iscsi DR

  2. If the SRM supports failover with RDM in our case

  3. If the AD DR Server site need to be installed as a new best practices, or we will have to use SRM to switch production announced on website of Dr. What is recommended.

  4. If the physical AD can be kept as the common way and always taken SRM supported

• NEW MRS. 5.1 with NETAPP SRA 2.0.1 get the error allowing matched table.

  I tried to install VMWare SRM 5.1 with netapp 8.1.2 with netapp SRA 2.0.1 Simulator.

  I created two sites and synchronous sites and installed MRS. After that added two sites and tables. The sra has successfully added to these two sites. But when I tried to allow the tables associated with, I am getting error on the DR sra as follows.

  SRA command 'discoverDevices' failed. SAN or NAS device not found

  Make sure that the SAN device is configured and mapped to a Group of ostype vmware and NAS device is configured and exported with the rules of the rw.

  I have check the logfile DR sra, it list due to error.
