  Apparently when the modem/router auto updated the interface ademin for Netgear engineering he included options to use the USB port on the device to act as a storage location. Who has been appearing in my network as the enigmatic BOUZHAM-LVG connections. I went to Netgear genius and just disabled since I don't plan to use it.

• My browser keeps taking me directly to the NETGEAR engineering after that I have successfully put in place.

  I use the N300 Wireless Range Extender, model EX2700. I created this range extender months ago and for some reason, now it does not directly take me to the NETGEAR Smart configuration genius. I tried to reset the Extender to the factory settings and set up again twice and there was no difference. It happens when I load my Web browser, but also when I open a new tab. Can someone help me please?

  I found the problem and was able to remedy! The problem is that I got an extension for Google Chrome that automatically redirects me to a Web site just like the NETGEAR engineering only. Simply disable the extension solved the problem, but it also means that every time I tried to activate the extension, the genius returns. I don't really didn't know exactly why he was the extension that was the problem, but at least this isn't a problem. I hope this help anyone who has a similar problem. Oh, and the extension is called "Tab for a Cause." Its actually a really cool extension and I highly recommend it, but if you get this problem when you use it, you now know why. • NETGEAR engineering connection user name

  I got a Netgear DSL from my ISP modem. I have Netgear genius installed on my PC.

  For some reason the username of my Netgear router is Admin with A capital rather than admin.

  I have no option to change the user name in Netgear genius, so I can't connect to my router.

  How can I fix?

  You are right. This model is a Netgear telco product. For assistance, you will need to contact your ISP.

  On my MacBook Pro running OS10.11.8 the Netgear engineering network map does not display the IP addresses of connected devices & I can't bring up the box to change details. On other Macs & PC it works fine. Any explanation/fix? NETGEAR engineering

  1. what version of the firmware on the router?

  2. what version of NETGEAR genius you have installed?

  3 are connected using the genius of NETGEAR before displaying the network map?

  4. have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the program?

  Hi @StefanoNet,

  You try to save a record of your IP webcam to the USB storage? If you are, it may not work because the router ReadySHARE feature is designed for the transfer of files and simple broadcast.

• ReadyShare drive unusable in the DOS command prompt

  I have a Nighthawk C700 - AC 1900 WiFi cable router Modem where I configure drive ReadyShare USB access.

  When I type the UNC "\\READYSHARE\USB_Storage" and type the Admin password for write access - I "can" see the files/disc in Windows Explorer. I can map the UNC path as a player U:\ and I can see/access it very well in the GUI.

  However...

  Once I go to a CMD command prompt (even tried as admin) - I see 'no' this player U:\. Error message = "system cannot find the drive specified."

  ReadyShare drive is a USB 2.0 disk formatted in Win7 to NTFS 2 TB external.

  I'm on Windows 10 v1607.

  If I connect the USB directly to my computer - I can see/access this drive U:\ locally and use the CMD utilities against it very well (robobopy.exe).

  Anyone working on this issue and or knows how to get CMD to use/see the ReadyShare full-access/write?

  Update: it's working now. ?

  I've upgraded to the latest version of Windows (1607.14951.1000) 10.

  I also upgraded Netgear engineering to v2.4.32.

  I "can now use/see the drive Readyshare in a CMD Shell."

  I can run normal DOS commands on this very well mapped drive.

  I had to modify my script robocopy to remove the /COPYALL and /ZB settings as I guess that Linux/NAS does not support these settings, but I can now, with the click of a shortcut on the Desktop - Sync/restore my files the on the network to the NAS drive.

  I don't know if it's the change in Windows or in engineering who has been around.

• Common Nighthawk America X 4 performance drops

  I have known random performance problems with my router Netgear Nighthawk X 4. I have very fast internet speeds (160 + mbps) but if I load multiple Web pages at once (for example, 5 at a time), they get stuck loading and finally have no response. This is via a 5G wireless connection. I have to wait a few minutes and reload all custom again. I disabled QoS, WMM and have the latest firmware, but it makes no difference. I must say, it's pretty frustrating. I expect more than a router of this award and the supposed calibre.

  Have you tried to change the wireless channel?

  If you have installed NETGEAR engineering, see the best channel to use.

  What is the version of firmware installed on your router?

  Try to adjust the CTS/RTS threshold and the length of the Fragmentation to 2304 under advanced wireless settings.

  It has been my experience. The autonomous genius, if that's what you want to say rather than the little genius of the web interface, is a generic package that supports a range of hardware.

  I don't know if the application supports everything, however. Some kit may be simply too old for his magic.

• A6210 guard disconnect wireless adapter

  Does anyone know if the HP laptop Pavilion B5S08UA #ABA is capable of receiving wireless 5 GHz?  The adabpter wireless is an Intel Centrino wireless N 2230, but it has never posted my 5 GHz signal.  My phones have always connected to 5G.

• D6200 front Port help

  This shows the interface of Netgear engineering allowing an external port mapping to a different internal port. I want to run port 80 on my public IP address to pass to port 5000 on my internal network IP 192.168.0.5. (External_IP:80 front of 192.168.0.5:5000) On my D6200 option pass an external port to a different internal port is not visible as the example KB. I don't see Port start and end Port when adding a personalized service.

  Judging by the manual, I believe that the D6200 has no ability to translate an external port to a different internal port.

• R7000 reset questions

  Long story but we are... This morning I wanted to test the latest beta firmware on my R7000. I unplugged all connect my Wired except the one that I would use to communcate with the router. then I have connected and click on the button "reset to factory settings". After a reboot, I was not able to connect to the router to "192.168.1.1" or "'www.routerlogin.com". " I'll double check my IP address (192.168.1.2 fine) even to restart my computer to find the same problem. The computer says it connected but I could not the internet or the router. Then I grabbed my phone and have a WIFI fast scan. I see wireless routers by default (channel 1) and my unique network 2.4 comments listed (Channel 6). Huh? Why my guest network would fall after a reset? If I connect to WIFI via my phone and Netgear engineering applying to go on the router. According to the app my guest network is disabled, so I turn it on and do a scan. Now, I have 4 WIFI networks showing... by default the SSID for 2.4 g, 5 g, 2.4 guest (channel 1) and my 2.4 uniqe comments SSID it shows still (Channel 6). If I connect to this... I can still use the Netgear engineering soft but no internet. OK that's nuts so I have a 30-30-30 of preforms reset... The only one that has changed is now my wired computer can connect to the internet but still cannot connect to the router.

  IM out of ideas on what to do next the only ones I can get invole with a hammer.

  Hi, I looked around, but couldn't find that everything about this, so apologies if it has been asked and answered before.

  Is it possible to change or revise the device Type list in the application of engineering and associated images? For example, I have to nest and pregnant thermostats wireless, so I wish I could have the best represented in the network map.
