Network connection event listener

Hi all

I am currently working on a project for a client where I develop an application without head tuned a network connection event. The idea is that the user will send information to a server to update via an interface user (designed by a colleague), but if there is no connection information is stored in a memory buffer/registry and an app without a head is triggered to listen to a network connection. Once a connection is detected, the data buffered in memory are automatically sent to the server and put an end to the application without a head.

What I would like to know is if there is a way to invoke the application without a head when the network connection is established so that I can use a short app, or I have to design a long-term headless app to listen constantly IE check the network at regular intervals untils, a connection is established. I would try to avoid long design works without a head because of problems of performance and battery and the fact that I also have to file documents with Balckberry to get that license!

Regarding the head and user interface elements. My colleague has designed the user interface in adobe air. I saw extensions for Air and Webworks cascading when you create a new project, but I'm wondering is it possible to integrate a user interface designed in the air with an app designed cascading headless, is replacing the part of the user interface of the headless with the designed Air UI?

It would be a great help if it is possible as establishing two separate applications on the device for a project is not what we want to do.

Thank you all for your time and help!

Rob

There is no 'set up network' trigger right now (you can have a good usecase, I suggest that you connect to a feature request in the developer Issue Tracker: SAID), so your only option is to operate as a long application work without waiting for the connection head.

You should try and make sure that your application has no problems of performance or the battery regardless of approval without head

Theoretically, I think you probably have an AIR interface for your native application headless... You will need to take the native code frontend and turn it into a native extension of AIR, so it speaks to your native without a rear head. As far as I know nobody is working on this though. I recommend you do this Interface in Cascades.

I lost my network connection and I don't know where to go to fix it. If anyone has an idea where ho to continue, I have tried so many stage already that I am at a loss... Help

My computer semi regularly acted by the loss of my internet on a whim. Basically, it can detect WIFI, no problem, shows the strongest signal for her also. just tells me that it cannot connect to WIFI when I try (even if he can ask me the password and can tell if I use one bad)

I can't reprocude the question

No significant changes to my computer because the issues started happening.

Simple steps:

-Recovery (before the first event) system does not alter

-Router and modem are not the issue

-Could you find not updated driver anywhere (even though this does not mean that they do not exist, but having only no internet with the pc makes it particularly tricky - also HP does not provide the )

-Power management wasn't the question

-J' tried forget network the many times this problem has occurred. He has not fixed it.

Additional troubleshooting showed:

-Reset the Winsock Catalog did not resolve the question more than once (emplying he did the first time I did).

-Reset of TCP/IP, that does not solve the issue more far.

Hiya

• How can I create an event listener for the change of variable shared or similar?

Hello

I have a 'big' 6 devices communicating measurement system via the TCP protocol. The system is designed to use REST (the representative State transfer) with JSON (JavaScript object notation).

Now, I need to add labview program to this environment. I've implemented a solution to 'work' with the help of this forum. Thank you for this! Now, I need to do better (currently no timestamps, large delays, etc.).

I currently have a web service deployed using http-get as input. My web service .vi is just passing the web entrance to shared variables that are then questioned in real measurement program. Reason is that when I put the measurement program directly to the web service, it does not (something about rights and dependencies). Measurement program includes one third of the owners (Instron) drivers. Also I would not direct access via the network to our mechanical testing device potentially dangerous.

Now, I want to change the message from the web services .vi commensurate .vi. Currently I have a loop of 10ms to query for changes in the shared variable. Is there a better way to do this? I thought create a listener to the shared variable change events.

In addition, if you have any ideas (preferably, working code example) how to make the interface between labview and TCP-JSON I would really appreciate it.

BR,

Juha

Currently in LabVIEW, the only way to create an event listener or event NSV is to use the DSC toolkit. Most of the time the DSC is a very expensive tool that simply encapsulates the functionality that is built into the motor of the PSP and OAS and which is accessible to anyone who can program in LabWindows/CVI.

http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/370051P-01/CVI/libref/cvicnvcreatesubscriber/

If you want to collaborate, I would like to create a small library of LV that would create a base SV events using a vi LV reminder or possibly passing return user LV event which is how works the DSC toolkit. I asked OR several times to explain how do this and they're very tight discreet about it. I guess that they do not want to give users LV less reason to buy the DSC.

• Home wireless network connections cut - a router issue?

I have 2 PC:

1 desktop running XP (SP3) on a H61DE/S3 Asrock mobo and Intel G620 2.6ghz CPU. RAM = 2 x 2 GB.
2. laptop running Windows 7 + Intel i3 CPU
3 wireless router D-Link DSL-2680 =
The office is directly connected to the router via an ethernet cable wireless.
I created a wireless network which consists of my office and cell phones with the help of a USB and the XP Wizard on my desk. I then clicked on "Network Setup Wizard" in the Control Panel on my desktop (XP) and created the network connections.
When I boot-up the two machines, I can see and access the connections network of desktop and laptop.
HOWEVER, if I let the machines for a while and then come back, although I can see the icon for "DESKTOP" in my network places on my laptop, when I click the icon, the cursor looks like this market, but then an error window appears stating that it cannot find the device and I want to diagnose the connection. When I click YES, sometimes, it detects the OFFICE and sometimes it doesn't.
The same thing happens on the desktop when I click on the "PORTABLE computer" icon in "My Network places".
The strange thing is, when I try to connect via Start Menu / run / \\'IP address on the laptop or desktop, I can connect usually either to the PC.
The questions are
1 can you explain why I should b affected by these connection question - is this a problem of compatibility between window7 and XP?
2. what type of home network, maintained by the router or directly between the laptop and desktop computer without involving the router?
Thank you
I assume that the HOMEDESKTOP, in this case, XP is the master browser because it is physically connected to the router and it is this machine that I created the wireless network and local.

N ° master of domain is chosen in an election. All devices have an equal chance of being elected little matter how they are connected. (A domain controller can always win, but that's neither here nor there). The problem here is that the Win 7 machine doesn't listen to the broadcasts and therefore think that it is the only device on the network and therefore chooses himself as master of go. The XP machine is involved in a normal election except that the Win 7 machine does not participate because he is not listening. They both choose and for a while, you have two masters to browse. The only listening to computer (XP) finally gets tired of hearing machine Win7 and abandoned as a master browser. Win 7 becomes the only browser then, but it does not work because he doesn't listen to any computer on the network. You can check this by bringing a window prompt (start-> Run-> "cmd") and enter the command:
nbtstat - a HOMEDESKTOP
or
nbtstat - a ROMANLAP1-PC
If the targen computer thinks that he is a master of travel, you will see a line "__MSBROWSE__".

For some reason, keeping the folders "My Documents" opened on both machines maintained the connection for 15 hours that day.

Anyway that you can keep the active connection, the machines will partner with the other. Once a connection is idling, then it must re-establish contact and is when the master browser or a response of diffusion is necessary and the Win 7 machine is unresponsive.

Why are these networks 0033, livedoor-web, mobilepoint shows on my wireless network connection? At Microsoft this downloaded without my knowledge in my laptop in the network connection and the internet? Are these safe to use and that they cause to slow down the internet connection?

Your wireless network card is just a receiver (transmitter). As for a 'normal' radio on which you are listening to music, news, sports, etc., your wireless network card will 'listen' to any nearby wireless network and provide you with a list of these networks:

Wireless networks that do not require a security password appear with the icon of the shield, as the "linksys" network in the figure above.

In general, you should only connect to networks that you know are secure: your own, networks that you know the password, or maybe a public network such as those provided by restaurants and other commercial establishments.

None of the networks that list you are likely to be public networks. You will not be able to connect (because you do not know the password) or you should not connect because they might be dangerous.

• Wireless network connection is not a valid IP configuration / wifi problems

I recently bought a laptop Asus G74 from Best Buy. It is currently running Windows 7 x 64 home premium. I am away from home on a job to work on a project for my company and during the two weeks have stayed at the same hotel with the same wireless, leaving home for thanksgiving between stays. The first week I spent the unsecured WiFi, download programs and games and play. I left the House, returned and used the wifi day, realized there is an ethernet cable in my computer bag laptop and connected to the hard line for the next day. I went to a colleague of room (a room down), went to look for the WiFi, and the trouble started.

Diagnostics Windows network tells me that the wireless network connection is a valid IP configuration. I thought it would be something to do with the drivers, so I opened by Device Manager, went through each of my NICs 5 or more and look for the updates of drivers. A couple said they have successfully installed, but nothing has changed my ability to connect. Then I thought about rolling back the drivers, but since I've had the laptop for such a short time (less than 30 days) the option is grayed out. It wouldn't make sense since I could connect the previous week on the same wireless.

From there, I decided to try a system restore to a point when I was getting into at first hotel. Restarting the laptop and the restore was successful. I tried to log in again and the same problem arises. I downloaded a couple of my favorite, Malwarebytes, and SUPERantispyware tools. Both have nothing.

So I did some research and digging and scholar on ipconfig (flushdns / release / renew) with an elevated command prompt. I tried these and they told me my media is "disconnected" and cannot be released or renewed. I found this strange since I can see the wifi network. I tried to use the Fn + F2 to toggle the wifi and WIMAX (no idea which is incidentally) with simple ipconfig and media disconnected status does not change. I also read that disabling ipv6 might help, so I did this and still no dice. I restored system again for the 2nd point earlier and it still does not connect.

Drop-down wifi icon in the bottom right of the screen, after trying to connect to the network unsecured wifi here (BWCamarilloInn), it reads 'Unidentified network' and under it "no internet access. I had different flavors of this message, including "limited access".

I thought I'd try a cross-check to see if it was not on the end of the hotel. I pulled out my laptop backup enterprise and was able to immediately connect to the wifi, and my colleague from work related to his phone and his netbook. I saw another thread somewhere on a Windows forum that suggests a clean boot. Tried, has not changed anything either.

Currently I have about 5 different adapters according to the Windows Network Diagnostics: the 1/2 LAN connection and Wireless Network Connection 1/2/3.
I also have 5 in the drop-down list of the network adapters in the Device Manager.

Intel Centrino WiMAX 6150
Intel Centrino Wireless-N 6150
Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport adapt
Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport adapt #2
Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

and a separate drop-down list called adapters Intel Centrino WiMAX, with a menu drop down called function Intel® Centrino WiMAX 6150 driver.
They are all updated when right click and check for driver updates.

I also looked through the different adapters and checked to see if the ipv4 settings have been defined to automatically detect the IP of/etc.

The laptop is great and I wouldn't really have to take it back to Best Buy. Other problems seem to be of culture that may be useful to know. Patch of League of Legends sometimes throws me an error "kernel patch pvp.net has stopped working", or just sits on the main projection before it hits the pitcher. Sometimes, it goes past the pitcher and he's here without connect to or start the main game. I heard that this has to do with the network stuff. I am computer literate, but I'm not terrible with networking or internet configuration stuff. If anyone can give me a hand, that would be much appreciated. I'll help you as much as I can. I've also attached the current ipconfig info (I'm connected to the internet via an ethernet to the wall cable, League of legends should therefore be able to launch).

Thanks in advance.

-Chris

Hey, sorry for the slow response. Just got home a few days, and since then, I've been able to connect both the wifi just next door (I'm on the end furthest from the beach with her, but I can still connect) and on my netgear n wireless router. I can also access the router dashboard. Fail to starbucks so just wifi next door was the next best thing. ASUS finally answered after 11 days, saying I should reinstall the wireless driver, which I told them was one of the first things I did. Well. It seems that the hotel wifi and I have no idea why this is the case. I was able to connect to the wifi at the hotel the first week and not the second while they might have changed something. I have no idea. I'm just glad that it connects to other networks, both guaranteed and no guaranteed. I'm just a bit worried that it might happen again in the future but I always wear a hard line in the event of an emergency and a business laptop backup.

With this new information, should I worry still try to fix anything with the hotel wifi, or do I just leave it as is? Thanks for the support continuous, 100 times better than ASUS right now: P

• "Network connectivity lost" alert - how to find which NIC is it?

Hi, we cluster with VCenter 5.5 HA and 2 X ESXi servers.

Each host has 4 NIC

One of the host's alert 'Network connectivity lost' that was triggered 02:00 in the morning. Is to verify that NIC is this anyway?

The events tab says know as NIC.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You should see some sort of event in the user interface and the vmkernal.log and vobd.log.

• Questions of ESXi 5.1 ISCSI--> cannot establish a network connection (continued)

Hello world

I had a problem there not too long ago (thread link below) where my ESXi hosts could not establish a connection with an IBM DS3500 on start up and "rescan", however their connectivity worked correctly without any problem after commissioning and when a "rescan" finished. We determined that the most likely cause was the unit IBM itself. However, I wasn't completely satisfied.

In order to deepen the question and dismiss my guests being the problem, I created a unit ISCSI myself with two new hosts of ESXi 5.1 (version 1157734).

ESXi signals that it cannot connect to the initiator ISCSI (network error) - but it can run virtual machines and browse data stores?

The configuration is the following:

Test environment:

2 x ESXi 1157734 hosts

1 x server Freenas ISCSI (ZFS R10)

At the start of my ESXi hosts in the test environment, download the same error as our production environment. They also put on the same error message (in the event log) when I "rescan" map of the ISCSI software. However, once the scan is finished, I can't see any error message and everything continues as it should (Round robin, active active). I can get a brilliant flow also. It's as if the errors are almost... false positives?

Example of the error message (test environment):

Connection to the iSCSI target

IQN.2011 - 03.org.example.istgt:iscsi on vmhba35

@ vmk2 has failed. The iSCSI initiator couldn't

establish a network connection to the target.

error

17/10/2013-08:33:35

ESXi hosts are configured as follows:

Test environment:

• (ESXi hosts) Two network cards for ISCSI, one for VM traffic
• NIC1: 10.20.20.2/24, NIC2: 10.30.30.2/24
• (Freenas) Two network cards installed on the ISCSI device (dedicated to ISCSI traffic)
• NIC1: 10.20.20.1/24, NIC2: 10.30.30.1/24
• ESXi is set to round robin, which works properly (I can max on both ports at the same time)
• Two VMKs are related to the ISCSI Software initiator and defined to dynamically discover the two ISCSI addresses
• Unity of ISCSI and the hosts are not on the VLAN, the switch is dedicated to ISCSI traffic (However in the production, the two networks are separated by VLAN.) I removed the in the test environment to simplify everything)
• The vSwitches (who hold a single VMK for ISCSI) are fixed:
• "Promiscuous" mode: reject
• Change of MAC address: accept
• Forged passes: accept
• The traffic shaping: disabled
• No NIC teaming (obviously)
• Each VMK inherits the settings of these

Quick points:

• My hosts use VMware approved NIC in my test environment. My production environment runs on full VMware hardware approved
• Can I use ping of vmk join each each VMK ISCSI initiator
• I can use the nc-z target_ip 3260 command to check connectivity to the port
• The ISCSI test has two network adapters, each on 1 Gbps ports
• I can get around 800mbps per port when copying lots of files (both ports are active)
• I see no error in copying a large number of virtual machines around, or backup files
• I only see errors on start up and "rescan".
• I have two network adapters on each host ESXi dedicated for ISCSI. Each NETWORK card has a single VMK. A single mapped port on ISCSI, the other is mapped to port B (I used to have two VMKs by nic, but I removed that in order to simplify everything)
• I have updated the firmware on our switch of production. No results
• I've used 4 different switches in order to avoid a network problem. No results
• I tested ESXi versions 5.0, 5.1 (799733 & 1157734), all have the same mistakes
• The ISCSI ports are on different networks according to the VMware (I was told not to put on the same network VMKs)

Any ideas? It's starting to drive me up the wall. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I've seen several times in recent months and was beginning to think it is specific to the HP P2000 units because it's the only time wherever I saw him! I now believe that ESX/iSCSI rather than issues of driver or table.

On my last install, I found that errors occur as soon as the table is connected, i.e. before any storage is displayed.

Single host ESX, no guests. 2 Intel adapters to 2 HP past by dedicated HP P2000 1 GB table with all 8 wired ports.

All roads are good, all lights are in the State expected.

It did not affect the use of the storage in question to any site, so there has been no need / a momentum of any further investigation.

B! 886y annoying however!

• Troubleshooting ESX 4.1 "lost network connectivity.

Hi people,

I made a change in a vSS in the detection of failover network status 'link' to 'Beacon probing.

Now a have an active alarm with Red State: "Lost network connectivity", but the message in the events of the host does not show that active vmnic of my rising has the problem.

Sound it no way of knowing which physical interface have this configuration problem?

Thank you

Cabral Wellington

In addition, if you wish to arrive linkstate changes in your host you can ssh to the desired host (or via the console of the ILO, etc.) and simply grep for 'link' (provides most of output) or "linkstate" (provides a minimal output, only showing the ascent/descent of the events).

Syntax of the command (depending on the version of ESXi host that you may need to tweak it a bit)

ESXi 4.x

cat /var/log/messages | grep -i link

-or-

ESXi 5.x

cat /var/log/vmkernel.log | grep -i link

Here are some example output captured everything by making the maintenance of networks:

Note: The example above uses the tail command to follow (-f) mode to observe the desired forensics in real-time (i.e. during your change). Otherwise, to review historical linkstate changes that have already occurred, and then use the command cat first noted at the top of the pole.

• Add the network connection of the Organization to all VMS in TIME

I am tying to create workaround for the vCD. When you deploy a VAPP model from a catalogue published in a different organization of the network of the organization does not automatically connect to the virtual machine if the VAPP model had its captured network settings. Currently, this happens for us within Lab Manager and not in vCD. Also, we must seize the networking that we use a closed/NAT model and it's too complex have our users configuration whenever they deploy a configuration.

I don't know if it's the right way to go with this yet, but until VMware comes back to us, we will test this route.

I have a workflow to get all of the virtual machine within a paralytic and problems by pulling their network settings. If I can get that I can draw the organizational network for the organization that the vApp is in course and then assign it to each virtual machine.

I don't know how we can use this, but I think we will make deployments of vCO instead of vCD or AMQP allows to listen to new deployments in the vCD and then the kickoff of this workflow to fix the vApps.

If you wonder why we need this, we're a large store of LM and the 500 running the vApps by organization limit forces us to have more than one organization.

Any help would be appreciated.

Eric

For a virtual machine to connect to a network, create a new workflow with a scriptable in task...

Flow of work/Scriptable task entries:

nicNumber (number)

ipMode (String - must be MANUAL, POOL or DHCP)

newIpAddress (String - only required if ipMode == MANUAL)

Network (vCloud:OrgNetwork)

VM (vCloud:VM)

Output of the scriptable job:

task (vCloud:Task)

Script box: (I have a bunch of entries System.log under logging/troubleshooting - feel free to comment each line starting with System.log)

vm.updateInternalState (); Update the current information...
var networkConnectionSection = vm.getNetworkConnectionSection ();
System.log ("Info:" + networkConnectionSection.info.msgid + "(" + networkConnectionSection.info.value+") '");
System.log ("required:" + networkConnectionSection.required);
System.log ("PrimaryNetworkConnectionIndex:" + networkConnectionSection.primaryNetworkConnectionIndex);
var connection = networkConnectionSection.networkConnection;
for each {(var connection in connections)
If (connection.networkConnectionIndex == nicNumber) {}
System.log ("NIC Match found...");
System.log ("IP address:" + connection.ipAddress);
System.log ("Current Mode IP:" + connection.ipAddressAllocationMode);
System.log ("Connected:" + connection.isConnected);
System.log ("mac:" + connection.macAddress);
System.log ("current network:" + connection.network);
System.log ("networkConnectionIndex:" + connection.networkConnectionIndex);
Our changes here, the ipAddress property is only applicable if ipMode is MANUAL
connection.ipAddressAllocationMode = ipMode;
If (ipMode == 'MANUAL') {}
connection.ipAddress = newIpAddress;
}
Connection.Network = network.name;
connection.isConnected = true;
}
}
Now apply the changes
var task = vm.updateSection (networkConnectionSection);

End of script task code

Make sure you link all your variables and it may be a good idea to bind the attribute 'task' actionable 'VclWaitTaskEnd' before proceeding to other operations
