How do you turn "network discovery is disabled" alert?

I want discovery network to be powered off and would that warning stops appearing everytime I open the network window.
PS, I know, ' why then do I need to open the network window.
I just do.
Thank you.

Hi Tiripon,

1. is that the computer is connected to a network?

2 did you do changes on the computer before the show?

You can check whether the associated network services are running

a. click Start, type services.msc and press enter.

b. in the list of services, double-click on ' function Discovery Provider Host ', change the Startup type to Automatic and Start the service.

c. apply the changes.

d. restart the computer and check if the problem persists.

If the computer is connected to any kind of a network, then you can turn on network discovery, and check if the problem persists.

my network discovery does not illuminate. Whenever I try to turn it on I get an error message that says: (the specified service does not exsist as an installed service)! I need to elp, its frustrating me! I have windows vista.

    Hello

    Did you change your computer?

    Method 1:

Based on the network location you choose, Windows affects a State of network for network discovery and opens the Windows Firewall ports suitable for this State.

Step 1: We recommend you to check if the elements of network discovery are enabled in Windows Firewall. To do this, try the following steps.
    1. click on start, type firewall and then click Windows Firewall with advanced security.
    2. click on rules of incoming traffic in the left pane and select the (SSDP-In) network discovery and network discovery (UPnP) - in the list.
    3. click on rules of outgoing traffic in the left pane and enable network discovery (SSDP-out) and the discovery of the network (UPnP-Out) in the list.
    4. apply the changes and check the result.

For more information about network discovery, see this link:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-network-discovery

Step 2: Check the status of the following services: browser, TCP/IP NetBios support.
    1. Click Start, type services.msc and press to enter.
    2. from the list of services, double-click the service computer browser and TCP/IP NetBios support.
    3. change the startup type to automatic and start the service.
    4. apply the changes.

    Method 2:

Now we go ahead and try to enable the discovery of the network on your computer and check for the issue.

Network discovery is disabled by default for public networks. Changing a network location type to home or work is the best way to turn on network discovery. To learn how to change a network location type, see Choosing a network location. To enable discovery manually, follow the steps below.

    To turn on network discovery

    1. open the network and sharing Center by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, and then click Network and sharing Center.

    2. If network discovery is off, click the arrow button expand the section, click turn on network discovery, and then click on apply. Need administrator permission if you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

I also suggest you turn on discovery of the network link and check.

  • How to disable the registry or command line network discovery / CMD?

    Hello

    We have 8 embedded windows.

We don't want this popup about how to connect to a new network or router:

There is no such GUI as shown here:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/enable-disable-network-discovery#1TC=Windows-7

We need to turn it off via the command line or the registry, or both.

    Support and advice appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

You can still get the same GUI that allows you to turn it off.  Simply go to the network and sharing Center and the "change advanced Sharing Options" will be on the left.

  • Configuring the private network or disable questions for the network discovery in network and sharing Center.

I just got my laptop all cleaned and had everything updated. When I got it back I was mainly concerned how my network and discovery sharing would work, because we never had a home computer and a laptop computer at a time. Our PC at home has always defined for a private network. Today, they are both defined for the private sector, the laptop will probably always be at home too, but I was curious to see how the printer share everything would work on my laptop. It would not print and I checked just the settings that the guy I of any program for me usually had the top settings. On my laptop that I was first checking out and the network discovery has been to custom on both, one on my PC was on, laptop has never been verified we or off, file sharing has been enabled on both. public folder sharing off on both, printer sharing turned off the PC at home, but on laptop, so much time, I guess me to turn on the PC I don't know yet. Printer password sharing is on the PC and laptop. I try essentially whether it is what you would call a custom setting make for a firewall setting, or could someone please just kinda tell me if the sharing of network discovery should be turned on on the laptop and the PC, or was it not suppose to be turned on to the laptop, but on the PC only? Which should be lit and which should not be enabled in the configuration of the private network? I just want to be able to print my laptop if I want to. Thank you

    Hello

What version of Windows are you using?

This article was written for the two Windows Vista & Windows 7.  Drop-down menu (right) allows you to activate Windows Vista Instructions.

  • Disable the CMF 6.1 IPv6 network discovery

    Hello

I noticed that I was starting to get "no record found host" when you try to "View host Profile" for internal IPv4 addresses. We're a boutique IPv4 is said by the way. When I looked at the map of the network, I see the guest table [IPv6] fills and discovered entries seems really weird.

Is it possible to tell the entire firepower, modules and all jump IPv6 completely and only use IPv4?

    Concerning

    Fredrik

Go to policy > network discovery. There you should find one or more different rules for the network discovery.

These rules define which network discovery of segments is activated. You will see in the default configuration: / 0 which means all IPv6 addresses. I have attached a screenshot on how to delete a rule IPv6 addresses.

Where: / 0 isn't in your discovery rule, let me know your CMF version, because you might hit the bug I mentioned earlier.

  • Network discovery, file sharing settings keep changing by itself and Alltel to set the network location continues to ask the wireless device

former title: network location settings. Discovery of NW. File sharing. public folder sharing. AVG 9.0 'tools' and network connections.

My Alltel Wireless device again set the network location. And continues to change my network settings for the discovery of NW to:, as well as file sharing for: file public and sharing: read-only.  I have AVG Security 9.0 and under 'tools' and connections network shows several svchost with States reading service connections listening and unknown. I don't want no access to my computer and cannot find any computer consultants who can get this to stop. What can I do?

    Hello

    1. the options apply automatically on?
    2. have you made changes on the computer recently?
    3. have you installed any Alltel Wireless application to manage network connections?
    4. What is the current network location type on? Is it home, work or public?
Network discovery and file sharing settings depend on the network location. For examle, if you set the network as a public location it turn on file sharing.  So I would ask you to turn all the parameters and then choose the type of network and check if the parameters change again.

    Method 1.
I recommend you to check if the problem exists in clean boot. May be a third party application is causing these changes.
See the article below for instructions on how to start your computer in a clean boot state.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup. Follow step 7 in the above article.

    Method 2.
Also check the settings under tools in AVG security suite. You may need to check with the help of AVG on it.
Or you can disable the antivirus software and check if that causes this behavior.
Temporarily disable the security software installed on the computer and check if the problem persists.
    Disable the anti-virus software
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software
Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    I hope this helps.

  • Network discovery will remain not or active.

Hi W7 Home premium works very well for a year, since I boutght the PC. It acts as a server of the domestic network of small data size and various PC and devices connect to wireless

No more - network discovery is now off and I can't next turn to the. This seems to be a well documented problem with a lot of different slkutions, what work. The most common advice given is to verify that the following services are started and set to automatic - they are!

    Computer browser

    DHCP client

    DNS client

    Function Discovery Resource Publication

    Network connections

    Network location awareness

    Remote procedure call (RPC)

    Server

    TCP/IP Netbios support

If I disable Windows Firewall - network discovery automatically returns to be on without any intervention. Turn on the firewall W and discovery network turns off automatically.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials, which does not solve the problem when it is turned off.

I've already lost hours on it - as someone has any ideas?

    Thank you

as stated in one tech groups. The Firewall behaves now as you suggest.

  • Impossible to activate permanent "network discovery and file sharing" in advanced sharing without turning windows firewall at the wide service.

    Environment:

I have a workgroup Windows 8 pro PC with all updates from Windows update. The PC is connected via WiFi (home) to a router (the same thing happens if I am connected to the router directly via RJ45). It's my "private network (NAT). I have the Windows Firewall is enabled in its default configuration. I use "Windows Defender" as my protection\firewall of virus software.  "When I go to: change options for sharing different network profiles" under advanced sharing options. I try to turn on file sharing and network discovery in the private profile. It shows that "the private sector is the current profile. The radio button lights. However, when I go to the file Explorer / network I got the message ' network discovery and file sharing are turned off. " The network computers and devices are not visible. Click here to change... " I click to change, however when I click to change it keeps returning and gives me the same message. I then go in ""network control and Internet\Network and sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings " and the option buttons in private profile for the network discovery and file sharing are turned off."
