I hope this helps someone out there.  It took a lot of research and trial and error to figure.  It's a solution and not a question, moderators, please put this in the correct area - I'm sure that's probably not the right one.

QUESTION: My Internet crashed and this was the situation for several weeks.  I used a hotspot from my phone for connectivity, it was so bad.  If I want to run a speed test, she would record .03Mbps.  Company Internet is out (twice), replaced new modem, dial-up, everything.  Modem became a signal strong, but it was not to reach all devices.  Literally spend days trying to understand this - constant speed running test.  Type a chance, but I noticed that if I turned off my wi - fi, my other devices to get internet antenna full.

This is my note to the At & T internet tech:

«I realized the problem - it's a mac question.»  If you see this once again, it's how to diagnose.  If they have a mac running El Capitan or Sierra (both latest versions), it will be a feature for the Photo program that attempts to download all your library - and sometimes loops constantly (this is the bug). When that happens, it will take ALL the bandwidth and choke the internet.  The way you can tell, if you turn off the WIFI antenna on the mac and the speed goes back to normal on all other devices.   You can see if you look at the activity monitor - the Application folder-> utilities-> monitor program - > Network tab.  You will see a function suck bandwidth, called NSURLSESSIOND.  Immediate fix is to run the PHOTOS, click on the PHOTOS-> PREFERENCES-> TAB, either "iCloud library" iCLOUD deselection or pause the update photograph (it does for 24 hours).  Network activity will return to normal, resolved to connectivity issues.  NOTE: you'll still the problem, if connect you the computer to the modem, wifi so isn't the issue. »

    I hope this helps someone!

Interesting, but I didn't and isn't the problem with El Capitan or Sierra on more than a Mac. It takes some time to download a large Photo library according to your connection speed. I never knew 'loop' a Photo. Maybe some have. Could be a bad installation.

  • I have to use the Microsoft Broadband Networking Utility to connect via wifi to an access point?

We have a gateway 2wire residential and three computers using here XP or Win7, and I used to have a laptop Vista Home Premium as well.  All of these computers are connected to a shared internet connection using what, in my view, is called zero wireless.  You simply search for networks, enter the ssid, key and good to go.  Until today when I installed a wifi adapter for Dell desktop of my granddaughter has never given the above utility.  His house has a gateway 2wire residential even than mine.  Well, this utility kept popping up and telling me there is no connection and it drives me crazy, because there was a link.  What I have to do is click on START, click on connect to and I can see the front door, and it connects fine.  In fact, I set up my daughter portable Vista, as well as my own Dell laptop and my iPad, and none of them wanted that darn utility.  My granddaughter's computer was purchased in 2007 and was never updated.  Today, I downloaded the SP1 for Vista, but wonder what I have to uninstall this utility (if indeed it is well to do) before you install SP1 and then SP2 go?

I want to clarify that there is no sharing of files between two computers in this household. Granddaughter uses his for school work, projects etc and daughter uses his to work, takes with her to work.  For now, there is not even a printer and it not there to no interest in the media streaming, sharing etc..  Just the old e-mail, tasks of office etc.

Thanks in advance for the help.  My first time here, I usually am the person who gives the answers LOL but it's Vista, and you know how it is.

    Hello ccsgo,

You don't need extra software installed for your wireless connection to work.
If you are worried about it, you can clean boot of your computer to disable the software to start and then if everything still works, you can uninstall it:

If you have several volumes on a device, and one of them is running out of space, you will be able to expand without losing the files it contains.

To enlarge a volume, you must delete the volume that comes after him on the device, and then move the end point of the volume you want to enlarge in the freed space. You cannot expand the last volume on a device. »

  • Can the utility Airport automatically adjust a mobile wireless network to a non roaming wireless network?

    Greetings,

I have expanded my wireless Ethernet (network roaming) cable network.

The Time Machine (primary base station) and the Airport Extreme (base station #2) lights is green and two base stations work properly when played back via the AirPort Utility.

I disconnected the cable Cat5 LAN of the time Machine (happening at the WAN on the Airport Extreme connection) assuming that the go-ahead would begin orange flashing on the Airport Extreme.  He did not.  Everything always worked as far as I could tell.  If I had the cable connected or not, everything worked again 'normal' as it should as far as I could tell.

So here's my question: by disconnecting the ethernet cable from the Airport Extreme, does mean that automatically toggled Airport Airport Extreme for a network utility not travelling?  In other words, rather than extend the network via ethernet, wireless network is expanded wireless?

    What Miss me?

Return to the configuration with the Ethernet cable connected to AirPort Extreme

Open AirPort Utility, click on the AirPort Extreme, then click on modify in the window that appears

Click on the Wireless tab at the top of the screen

Check the current setting of the network Mode

He must "create a wireless network.

    Is it?

If this is not the case, the AirPort Extreme has never configured for a roaming set up in the first place.

My question is very simple, you will see. I accidentally deleted a file that is used with network utility CD-ROM included with the WUSB600N, but I lost the CD so I can't recover the file. Anyone who has this software can help me, it would be really appreciated.

Here is the file: C:\Program Files\Common Pure Networks Shared\Platform\nmsrvc.exe

If it matters, I use version 4.9.9131.1 of the software. A big thank you to all those who will be willing to send me this file by e-mail or by any other means possible.

THANKS a LOT, seriously, because I can't use my card to connect to Internet when I'm not home. Please, help me on this one.

    Good day.

What is the operating system installed on your computer?

You can download the wizzard the installer from the Web of Linksys website for your card.

  • El Capitan screen sharing does not connect to less than the firewall disabled

I reinstalled my Mini to El Capitan server and I can not connect via screen sharing. Screen sharing is enabled and the application firewall indicates incoming connections to it are allowed. But the customer never connect unless I turn off the firewall. Sniffing the network says that port 5900 is the problem, but I see no way to specify ports in the application firewall. I do not use the Adaptive firewall, and I don't see anything in the config of pf which would block 5900. • El Capitan 10.11.3 update killed the Ethernet on my 2012 Mini port

As the title says, I installed the update for 10.11.3 on my Mac Mini end of 2012, and after that I restarted, the Ethernet port no longer works. It worked fine up until the reboot (i.e., I downloaded the update itself through my Ethernet port). Wireless still works, but I really need a wired connection on this machine.

Don't know if this helps, but the Ethernet port will still appear in the tab "Network" report of the system, but not in the drop-down list in network utility. I tried all the usual stuff - reboot, the evolution of the switch ports, change the cables, but nothing works. (I know that the switch itself is fine, because no other connected computers have problems.)

Any ideas? I really don't want to have to buy an adapter Thunderbolt to Ethernet, but I really can't with a Wi - Fi only for this machine. All the tips are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Try this:

Start the computer in Safe Mode, and then restart normally. It will be slower than a normal startup.

MacIntel: Reset of the controller (SMC) system management

Reset the PRAM and NVRAM on your Mac.

Repair the hard drive and permissions - El Capitan

    HD recovery start:

Restart the computer and after the buzzer, press on and hold down the COMMAND and R until the menu screen appears.

    Repair

When the recovery menu appears, select disk utility and press the continue button. Disk utility charges and select Macintosh HD entry indented from the list on the left.  Click the first aid tab in the toolbar... If disk utility reports any errors that have been corrected, then re-run first aid until no errors are reported. Wait until the operation is complete, then quit disk utility and return to the main menu. Select restart from the Apple menu.

Now, download and reinstall OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 Combo Update.

  • Connection Ethernet to El Capitan does not

I've updated El Capitan on my Ethernet connected desktop computer on October 2, 2015.  Then on October 22 the 10.11.1 updated.  On November 6 and 7, I was unable to connect.  I managed to get back online in the evening of November 8.  don't ask me how! This last until 19 November.  Then from November 20 to November 26 inclusive.  On November 27 I connected as a guest and managed somehow to connect again.  Until 30 November and have been offline since with my office. I give these dates because I want to eliminate two potential problems:

    1. on 8 November, I joined a new wireless Brother printer all in one

    2. on 16 November, I received a new Panasonic microwave oven.

my ISP is Plusnet.  I contacted them, and the answer that seemed logical, is that I have an iPad and iPod touch that I can't connext with Internet.  So there is nothing wrong with my line.  It must be the iMac system.  PlusNet has confirmed that I have the correct details in the account preferences.  I have another e-mail account that is iCloud.

I tried everything I have seen online including discussion forums.  I'm desperate to get online on my desktop.

is your compatible 802.x microwave oven and it is in conflict with your router?

    Probably not.

    If you have restarted?

    Have you tried another cable?
The ends of cable even turn on?

go to  > System Preferences > network

Disable the network of preference by choosing configure IPv4 to Off,

    then turn on again.

  • Access to distance running OS x server local network

I have a 2 person office with a local ethernet network connected to the internet via wifi provided by office building. Is there an easy way to connect to my server from Home Office? I have osx server updated to el capitan running on a mac mini. My colleague is connected using GoToMyPC, but I want to put in place so that I don't have the extra cost of this service if I can.

To run a public VPN server behind a NAT gateway, you must do the following:

1 give the bridge either a static external address or a dynamic DNS name. It must be a DNS record a public DNS record, not on the server itself. Also, in the latter case, you must run a background process to keep the DNS record update when your IP address changes.

    2. give the VPN server a static address on the local network and a host name that is not in the 'local' top-level domain (which is reserved for the Hello).

3 transmit external ports 500 and 4500 1701 (for L2TP) UDP and TCP 1723 (for PPTP) port to the corresponding ports on the VPN server. The app Server can set this up for you if you have a router from Apple.

If your router is an Apple device, select the AirPort network utility and click Network Options. In the leaf opens, check the box marked

    Allow inbound IPSec authentication

If this isn't already done and save the change.

There may be a similar setting on a third-party router.

    4. configure the firewall in use to pass this traffic.

    5. in the sidebar of the application server, select the server name, then select the Access tab. Access to the network for VPN service must be all the networks, if you want customers to be able to connect from anywhere.

If you have followed all the steps above, the server application must show that the VPN service is accessible from the Internet to the external IP address. Otherwise, something in the network is blocking some of the required traffic. Some residential ISPS block incoming UDP packets redirected. If yours is by doing this, you will not be able to set up a virtual private network.

    6. each client must have an address on a network block that don't overlap one assigned by the VPN endpoint. For example, if endpoint affects addresses in the 10.0.0.0/24 range, and that the client has an address on a local network in the range of 10.0.1.0/24, it's OK, but if the LAN is 10.0.1.0/16, there will be a conflict. To reduce the risk of conflicts of this kind, it is preferable to address assignment to a random subblock of 10.0.0.0./0 with a mask of 24 bits.

    7. "back to my Mac" is incompatible with the VPN service. It should be disabled on the server and on an AirPort base station, if necessary.

8 Hello won't work on an L2TP or PPTP VPN. To make services accessible through the tunnel, you need a DNS service work.

If necessary, services such as mail must be configured to listen on the block assigned to the VPN clients network.

    9. If the server is connected directly to the Internet rather than being behind a NAT, see this blog.

  • Major Outlook and timing of the problems after the upgrade of the El Capitan

On the advice of the Apple support (phone call) I recently upgraded from Yosemite to El Capitan 10.11.6.

I have many problems. The two largest are (1) stands (2016) Outlook and frequently "must be closed; (2) calendars quickly goes to "not responding" after the launch and shows multiple entries for a single event. Example: I have a class to repeat each week (when I was in Yosemite). Before the upgrade, he showed the event once a week. After the upgrade, it it shows 13452 times the same day. I followed the advice on these topics, but nothing has worked. Similarly the calendars on my iPhone5 freezes as well.

    Hello Steve,.

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. I have a problem with your MacBook Air use after update is not what you expect. Based on what you said, it seems you can experience some software related issues, and here's how I recommend refine you and resolve these issues:

    1. first of all, try to run a quick with the disk utility tool test, as this can correct simple problems that you encounter. Then restart normally and retest your problems.

Disk utility (El Capitan): a disc repair

    2. use Mode without fail to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks, remove files from the system cache, check your startup disk and trying to fix problems if necessary directory. Test mode safe questions, then restart normally and test again.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning
Graphics performance limited in recovery of OS X or in safe mode

    3. you can find out if unexpected behavior is related to the user file or a parameter in trying to reproduce the problem to a different user account. This process includes creating a new user account, connect to it and test for the issue.

  • Port Forwarding airport 6.3.2 utility Airport Time Capsule model A1409

Some friends and I have tried to reach an audience subscribed to the server, which requires specific ports to be opened to allow friends to see your created server and join your created server.  To try to reach these servers that we receive messages indicating that the server in #. ##. ##. #: 27015 does not.  This IP address that appears in the message is actually our address public router (modem), but the Apple software uses with its base stations does not the entrance to this IP address public opening of ports and allows only private IP addresses equipment connected to the WiFi set up in your home network.

We have all tried to open this port 27015 using our Airport 6.3.2 utility software but when we check this port using network utility, it does not show this port as open, so our port logon attempt has failed.

One of us used a WiFi network provided through Motorola SURFboard SB6121 DOCSIS® modem cable connected to our Apple's Time Capsule 2 TB model A1409 airport.  Use of the Airport utility application on an iMac, we tried to open several ports required specified by different sites for this server in the work and friends to be able to see my server.

However, when you attempt to open ports, only WiFi IP camera is allowed, such as 10.0.1.2 and not the IP that claims server is unresponsive, which is the IP address for the public router (Motorola Modem) of #. ##. ##. ##.

We all visited www.portforward.com for suggestions but this site is outdated regarding the latest software from Apple wireless stations.  It seems that Apple does not provide an operational means to open all ports using this time Capsule which actually work and make every effort to get to our computer via airport base station is blocked by the base station.

The formal question is this: since Apple Wireless/WiFi network has "private" IP for each device connected to the network, how servers join we create outside the home on systems to which we have subscribed and we open the required ports so that we can see?  This server is looking at the public IP address and port (#. #. #. #: 27015) and claiming that it cannot get through this port.  How to open this port so we can use these servers as they are scheduled/planned by the merchant site that we use?

    Thank you

    J

The basic information about the opening of port are here.

Airport - Port Mapping Basics using v6.x AirPort Utility

One of us used a WiFi network provided through Motorola SURFboard SB6121 DOCSIS® modem cable connected to our Apple's Time Capsule 2 TB model A1409 airport.

The SB6121 is a known issue with Apple routers. Although most of the problems exist with products of next generation, AC AE and TC version, the latest firmware of the previous Gen, 7.6.4 may also have problems...

I highly recommend that downgrade you the firmware to 7.6.1

There should be no need to map the ports of a server hosted outside your network... so I'm having a problem reading your post... this server hosted within your network or outside it? Cannot open ports to a hosted server on the outside and it is simply useless to.

If the firmware downgraded on the TC does not work... I think you have routing problems and the best solution is a cheap substitute for router... cheap... for example a WR1043ND v2 or v3 works perfectly. You can load the better firmware which will also give you better control... < $ 50.
