Network with HP Officejet 8500 A910A connectivity problem

Network router: Linksys E4200

Previously connected this printer on the network without any problems.

Moved the printer to a new room and can connect is more.

I am a professional computer experience and I'm stumped.

I realize that closing the printer will probably caused a new IP address will be assigned by DHCP and we tried to work around that.

Reset printer to factory default and reinstalled and reconnected to the network. Router can see the printer and now I have manually configured a static IP address for the printer. 192.168.1.101

Router can ping the printer with no problems.

None of my Windows 7 machines can ping the printer. I used the HP Support Assistant. You can find regularly but rarely the printer on the network. Even when it does not find the printer I still cannot ping it the same machine through the command line. I used printing HP and doctor Scan to check the network settings and I configured the static IP address on the printer to match the same subnet mask and gateway as found via the diagnostic tool. Still no dice.

Puzzled and would like to know the pointers.

Thanks in advance!

Greg

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Linksys DHCP IP 192.168.1.100 are thru.254 if I remember correctly. You have a static IP address within the range the router DHCP. You must configure the static IP address of 192.168.1.2 a.99. Try using 192.168.1.10 as a static IP address. Now go back and reinstall the drivers and full software. Try now.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910 connection problem

    Dear Forum,

We have problems of connection with the Officejet Pro 8500 A910 printer/Scanner.

The device is connected through the wireless network and can reach the server (e.g. for the storage of digital images).

When we try to access the printer (or scan) with a computer (WinPC or Mac) that is also connected via the same wireless network, the printer/scanner is not reachable (host unreachable), i.e. even a simple PING for the network address (IP V4) of the printer/scanner cannot be completed. As soon as we connect to the computer via the wired local network, can be reached at new printer/scanner (normal operation). Between the two States (computer connected via wireless or wired LAN) no changes have been made to the configuration of the printer/scanner. It's all simply inaccessible when the computer tries to connect to the printer/scanner is connected through the wireless network.

We looked at the different wireless router firewall settings, but can't find anything, the firewall is off (like the router works behind a firewall, like all LAN).

    I've been "compatibility 802. ' 11 b / g "in network settings advanced printer, without effect.

Anyone who has a smart idea why this is so? We tried different computers with different operating systems, but still the same photo...

    Thank you!

What router? Is "isolation wireless" or "AP Isolation" enabled on the router? This prevents any communication between wireless devices.

Re: Windows Pro/Ent 8.1 Overview invited - stop Windows Net Performance, away from work

Re: Flow very slow network-> Guest host, but no comments <-home

So far, none of the solutions worked. I turned off "Large Send Offload" on each adapter that I could find on the host and the guest. Nothing. Restore these settings in any combination with other out does not work either. I edited the .vmx file and replace by vmxnet3 occurrences, and that no longer works. So far nothing I've tried has worked. I disabled all firewall and antivirus. Still nothing. When I run Guest OS Windows Network Diagnostics, I get the "your modem broadband has connectivity problems." However, I know that this is not the case. I also used the "Virtual Network Editor" to force the bridge connection to select the correct network card (in my case, it's the Intel Centrino Wireless - N 1030 wireless card), but still no luck. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

I have disabled the firewall completely Bitdefender and Bridged Networking worked perfectly. I'll probably create another topic more precisely around Bitdefender firewall configuration to allow traffic network through Bridged from VMware.

Well, I guess I'll just answer to myself that HP is busy doing other things (fixing their crappy software and customer support maybe?).

I fixed it myself afterwards, even if now I get this error scanner TWAIN or something. Not worth more, HP is at the door!

Tip for HP: focus more on consumers and windows not only companies and do something for your software!

Thanks for nothing! you want to fix people crap HP? It is best to throw it out the window!

  • Install HP Officejet 5740 & USB connection problems

I recently bought a HP all-in-one OfficeJet 5740 printer for my desktop Dell XPS 8700-(Windows 8.1) and attempted to install, using the USB connection option. I was informed by the instructions of configuration to go online to a Dell website for the latest version of the installation software to download if I had access to the internet. I have DL'ed software and it apparently installed OK-(aucune erreur ou quoi que ce soit pour indiquer qu'il n'a pas abouti). Once finished with the installation of the software, I got to the window option connection-(wireless, usb cable ethernet cable). I chose the option of usb cable, however after having to then connect the USB cable to the printer and the computer via the usb cable, it tries to connect, but alerted me, stating; "Failed connection to printer, printer was not able to connect successfully via the usb cable. I ran the program of doctor printing/scanning HP on the 5740 and it lists the printer and the software installed, however the HP printer install lists assistant the complete software package for the printer is not installed and some basic features drivers may be missing or damaged. Also when I go into Control Panel, then devices/printers, it displays the icon of 5740, however after rt - by clicking on the printer icon, instead of the regular menu that comes up to the top-(showing the complete properties, select this printer as the default printer, etc.), it displays a menu of smaller selections very-little (who don't understand not the "select as default printer"). I tried downloading the printer software two ways-(via the HP website on line 1, and then click the installation CD supplied with the printer, the same results. The printer was purchased 11/15/2014 and seems works very well-(tirages test-page, page d'alignement, etc.), but I can't print anything, and apparently it can not connect via the USB-(* j'ai acheté un nouveau câble usb 2.0 hier et, utilisé pour écarter la possibilité d'avoir un mauvais câble). My Dell computer is only 10 months old, and I upgraded to 8.1 Windows back on 25 October. The USB ports on the computer all seem to work properly when connected to another USB device other than the 5740 printer. What is the software apparently is not fully installed, with some missing drivers or, possibly, USB drivers should be updated? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!!

Thanks for responding, but I was able to get the printer installed with the help of diagnostic, remotely in line with my computer manufacturer support staff. He was determined to be a software problem because of a recent update of Windows 8.1. Thanks for the effort!

I have the experience of the network. For now I'll out of HP printers and have been a fan of them for many years, please help!

    Thanks in advance.

    Ian.

A static IP address is always a good idea for a printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you know what it is, set an IP address outside this range but not exceeding 254 (the last number of the address). If you don't know it, enter the current IP address.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Let the gateway and DNS white. Click on ' apply

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.

There are a few general options that must be verified.
First check if your WLan driver can be updated.
Second, you must Access the properties of the Protocol TCP/IP of WLan and must check if all options are set for the automatic.

Last but not least all firewall settings should be checked also. Most incorrect security settings might prevent the internet connection.

Thanks for any thougts or help,

    Albie

Thank you for the replies, I solved it and it may be worth to post it here.

Manually, I entered an IP address to match the range of the router, but could not get the software to install, with the help of a technician HP online by plugging directly into the router. Plug on the home network wired, rendering the printer not available online.

Here is some of the best. I just had a connection 2nd broadband ISP of Shaw cable, our television provider and used in this regard to implement this printer. I bought the identical DLink 655 Router I use as a DSL connection if the telephone line. (I wanted a 2nd backup internet and I also wanted to test the speed of 2 services)

Once I lost the printer when connected off the router, I took the router of Shaw in offline mode and plugged the router DSL for the home network. THE PRINTER WORKED PERFECTLY! What a great lesson for a guy who has spent many hours reading and following all possible solutions, he could find!

So for anyone out there that might help, I thought that I post and once again thank everyone for their great posts and help here, as well as responses to me.

Either way, Shaw router started blocking my outgoing email this morning. Another thing, they make for us to send our email out through another address, one of them.

I hope I helped someone along the way.

Best wishes of the season for everyone
