Hi all:
I bought a new book a few days ago. I am really satisfied with this wonderful machine. After using it for a few days, I have two doubts:
(1) the fan in my booklet is most of the time. Is this normal?
(2) what are the specifications of memory? I want to upgrade the RAM in my machine, but I have no reference manuals for do I have to use the memory modules.Thank you very much
In case it helps to... My experience with my U100 is the fan is certainly * not * "almost all the time." For example, I went about 40 minutes before to check emails, news, etc., using the power of the battery and the default 'normal' power setting, and the fan is not switched on once. (Room temperature is 23 degrees c).
If I use it outside in the Sun very as the case becomes hot to the touch, the fan tends to come regularly.
If it runs on my desk from the power outlet (using the parameter 'high power' by default) and I do the work of the processor hard as when you make a disk backup or editing photos, then yes the fan are quite light. But it's just like most laptops.
If she does everything what * and * the sun shines directly on it as well, then the fan comes on saying maybe 50% or more of the time. (A silver case would have reduced the effect of solar heating - but look very smart matte black ;-).)
How does this compare with your experience?
To the subject of RAM, yours came with 512 MB like mine? (I guess this would be the module PA3312U - 2M 51, as described on this site - 512 MB memory PC2700 DDR SODIMM (333 MHz)).
Before I bought the machine the provider told me that he has that one slot RAM and that in order to upgrade the memory, I would need to take the existing 512 MB and replace it with a 1 GB module. But I have not confirmed which and there is no mention of a module of 1 GB on this site. The 512 MB so far seems sufficient, but I would be interested to know if you are able to increase the RAM on your U100.
Kind regards
David Tong.PS. It occurs to me that if you feel the need to increase the RAM, then maybe you do work pretty hard machine, in this case you expect the fan to be busy.

in iBooks author, how can I change the book ID? I update often books and hand but ID remains the same, so it caused problems when others discover. I wish it were as if it were a new book with a new code.

I was able to install Photoshop and Illustrator last week, but when I just swipe of it again today to download Adobe Acrobat, it is just and runs forever without getting to the point where I have a choice of applications to download.
Please check the help below document:

Master Pages are part of each document.
You can import master pages from another document (i.e. a ' model') in your current document using the file > import > Formats... option and select layout from the list (deselect all others).
If you have changed the current TOC for the problem of the Page Master on the left, then simply save the file and use the Edit > update book option for that OCD regenerated by using the new page templates.

How to start a new book?
Working in the module in LR and created book something just for practice.
I don't want to keep or to publish.
How can I remove it and be ready to start a new book sometime in the future?
Check the Collections Panel at the bottom left of the book module. If you have saved the book, it can be removed by simply trashing the collection. You can also use just the clear book button at the upper right of the area of grid/magnifying of book.

Start a new book and add files
Hi, I'm fairly new to FrameMaker scripts. It's what I'm doing and where I am:
(1) converting .mif files FM (completed)
(2) start a new book
(3) add each FM in record book at step 2.
To start with step 2 & 3 any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Kevin
Kevin,
I don't test anything, but I think it should work:
model var = book. NewSeriesBookComponent (0);
Comp. name = "C:\\SomeDocumentPath";
etc.

Please, I was faced with problems when creating a new book in Indesign CS6!
Hello! I'm going to talk to you about my problem: I work for a COMPUTER company in the Brazil and we have developed a five - hundred page manual in Indesign CS6 software.
Then, we decided that each chapter would be an .indd (document Indesign CS6) and that these 27 chapters would be part of a book (.) INDB).
Finally, we got our book in the first revision (.) (PDF). In June, we copied our first revision in order to create a second.
We recorded the second revision of the book (.) INDB) in June 2013. Now, in September, we tried to open this book, once again, to no avail...
The second revision opens the first review! It's as if we have not saved our second revision, but I'm sure that we did.
So, please I would like to know:
(1) what we were wrong in this whole process of creation of new books;
(2) if it is possible to import a PDF in Indesign CS6, because our PDF is right, but we have our unchangeable.
I'll be grateful for any help!
Thanks in advance!
Making copies does not work the way you think that with books.
A file .indb is naoual a collection of pointers to the individual files and make a copy, even if you copy individual files, not is not updated where the .indb showed up.
There are two options here. PACKAGE the book and again work package, or make a new .indb file and add your copied .indd files.

Painting is perhaps not the best choice, but yes, you can create this type of image with paint?

Until recently, when I tried to add a topic for a book in the Table of contents, I just dragged into the project manager in the Table of contents. I don't know what is different today, but the new entries appear in the Table of contents pod but not in the generated DHTML. To make it more confusing, to me anyway, some newly added topics show.

ADE all of a sudden, I cannot return a book, or to receive new books
I had no problem with ADE during several years (ver. 2.0.1.78765). Now, suddenly, it won't allow me to return a book, which gives the following message: "error to return item! Please allow your computer first. "When I go to the Help menu > permission, he says the computer is already authorized and gives the chain of approval.
If I try to put a newly downloaded book in ADE, I get a message that says "error!, check the permission", but it doesn't tell me how to do this.
I recently received a message to say Microsoft I need to change my logon to a local account and then through this procedure. This could be the reason why ADE no longer works? If so, how do ADE operational again?

FDK - change level highest element (NoName) to get a new book of FM valid
Hello world
Using the FDK I saved a DITAMAP (referring to several files of concept) as a book with FM components, and the resulting book is not valid with the highest level of NoName element.
If I select the NoName element in view of structure of FrameMaker, then concept within the catalogue of the item and click the button change my book is now valid after an update of the book.
Is there a way using the FDK to achieve a valid book after the save operation?
Using the FDK I'm outlining a way to select all the items in the book, all packaging in a part of the concept, and then selecting the item NoName and unpacking. For me, this option feels like I correct structure subsequently was not defining the structure of the recorded book.
The newly created file book already has concept element definitions without importing it.
This would be a case of some sort by specifying a template to use when recording?
If I can give you more details please do not hesitate to ask.
Any input at all would be much appreciated.
Hi Joey,
Getting around in tree structure with code FDK is tricky business. It is difficult to get your head around a F_ElementRangeT structure and what really mean members. Ten years to do this and I still barely get it
So, at some point I hunkered down and made a lot of experiences, then built a function that manages the determinations range element for me, based on any place that I could think of that I might want to place an insertion point. I rely on that now very strongly and don't think much on the beaches of the item more. He has worked for a long time so I don't mess with it, just call it if necessary. I send an existing item ID, and then a constant that specifies where I'm looking to go from this element.
I pasted this function below, called ws_SetElementRange(). I guess that this name is not if great because it isn't really anything... it simply defines a structure of range item for you according to a reference that is passed. Then, you can use this reference to set the insertion point to with the FP_ElementSelection property, if you wanted to. I've included an example of another function that does just that, called ws_SetInsertionPoint(). At that time, I expect that my code struck these two functions, a billion times or so, because as I said, I look at them the strongly.
Note that there is a call to a function ws_GetElementTag() in there that will not solve for you. You will need to replace it with another method of obtaining the tag of the element. The tag is important to determine if the reference item is a text node or not, because those that cause different contingencies.
In addition, I see here some old notations that I could not use it today, but I think that everything is valid C. You may want to modernize the way in which the various members of the structure are referenced, but probably should not if you do not want.
I hope this can be useful.
