New HD - no restore disks

Hi, I have an ideapad Z570, who recently had a HD change (the old one just died)

I don't have the disks to restore the operating system, is there any way I can order them? The laptop is out of warranty, but I would still keep my copy of OS.

Thank you!

You can contact Lenovo in your country and ask them how much costs recovery disks.

(I think that in the United States are $ 60)

If the difference is negligible, I recommend buying a copy of Windows and now that instead of Lenovo disk repair.

  • Restore disk will not work need a windows copy XP where can I find one?

My hardrive broken so I am new and my restore disk does not work where can I get a version of windows to put it on a floppy disk and use it on my computer OSless.

    XP has disappeared.

your best bet is to work with the manufacturer of your laptop, maybe they xp on their shelves.

also, the restore disks may require specialty measures to run for them to be activated.

so for the two cases above, visit your computers home site and look for the model number of your laptop for the faq on the help of restore disks / recovery discs / factory restore.

by the way, how broken is the old hard drive?

He must have a hidden section on it with all the preserved original software which can be used to restore the hard disk.

but this section could also be copied into the new HDD as well, according to which 'broke' implies.

by the way, is that the technician who replaced your hard drive take a look at the restore disks too?

    Hello

My hard drive is dead (completely) 3 days out of warranty.

So I bought a new hard drive. Problem I have now is how to install Windows on a new drive.

I obviously paid for Windows Vista, when I bought the laptop, so I'm a little confused on what to do next.

    Hello

Didn t drive recovery does not happen with the laptop because you had an option to create one using the preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator.

You now have this disc which can be ordered here:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

Boot from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen.
The recovery disk works also with the new HARD drive!

  • Cannot complete the reinstallation of Vista on Compaq laptop using the Compaq recovery disks. Tried to restore disk oem and new close to identical road. Errors: 0xc00000e9 and 0xc0000189 respectively

With no unusual occurrence that accompanies it, our laptop was able to start and would not initialize anything beyond a screen B & W style BACK and gave the first error (0xc0000e9) on this screen. After several unsuccessful reboots insert us the Compaq recovery disks and crossed the recovery (only full optional with such discs.) At the end of the transfer of recovery (from DVD on computer), the computer tried to restart and reported the same error message. We have seen anything past the transfer of files and B & W on the oem disk. I think the oem HD is bad. Web-surfing suggested the error was associated with a hardware failure and the DVD drive seems to work very well I bought a new HD almost identical to replace the oem version with. Both are Seagate Momentus 160 GB at 5400 RPM drives.

I re-inserted the recovery with the new installed hard drive disks and it loaded and seemed basically completely install Windows (computer is restored running several times and showed the Windows desktop with sequential programs etc. facilities.)

To restart the final success, I received an error message in the sense of "windows could not install: Please restart the installation process" and the 0xc000189 error code. I tried again and the result was identical, including the error message. In the process the emblazoned shortcut labeled sunflower administrator with "locked" below briefly appears before the above error appears above him. Navigation on the Web seems to suggest I've hit some kind of security problem that appears when an oem auto-installer is used. He was never a password of any kind on the laptop of our family, if there is one, it should be of Compaq.

It's an authentic (not stolen etc) oem new install of Windows (the laptop is only 18 months old) and I CD code on the computer but not the case in the installation me I asked for it. I don't know what you looking for installation.

I'm very confused and any help would be appreciated. Compaq is saying it's a matter of Windows of course.

    Thank you

  • My vista restore disk does not start in my computer. Is it possible to get a new drive?

Compaq PresarioSR5130NX with AMD Athlon 64 x 2 processor. Wouldn't start. Console Startup Repair did not help, not even in safe mode. Tried to restore partition, says error. Tried to restore System Restore disk. First authorized disc formatting my drive, second disk would not be executed. Now I'm stuck with no operating system and no disc to recharge. Any ideas?

    Hello

You may have a hardware problem which is the cause.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Install new drive internal - restoring basic questions

Comments have a new internal drive installed on my MacBook Pro mid-2009 and after reading the relevant articles confirm a few basic things since this is my first time doing so wanted.

Should I format the new disk using disk utility before using my last Time Machine backup to restore my files and Mavericks? If so, just start as normal and go to disk utility > format the drive > shut down > restart by pressing Option > choose restore in Time Machine? If it's just restart by pressing Option and choose restore from my latest backup from Time Machine?

I am running Mavericks. Apple somehow automatically restore and update me to El Capitan?

In addition to the Time Machine on my Time Capsule backups, I all supported up to two ext HD. Everything I need to do in preparation or at the time of the restoration?

    Hello!

Looks like you've done your research. Good job! Yes, format your new HD as a unique GUID Partition Table Mac OS extended (journaled). Starting up again, I would be the "Macintosh HD" name.

The new time Machine restore. If you have already downloaded installers - El Capitan, Yosemite, and the Mavericks. They should always be available in purchases on your App Store. Since you have a Time Machine backup, you should already have Mavericks installer in the archives. Re-download the installer El Capitan on App Store as soon as you are running. When set up El Capitan appears exit install if you want just the app for later.

    Bravo!

  • restore disks

I have two identical HP computers (Pavilion d4890y).  We have a failed hard drive.  Whatever the restore disks I use to rebuild the new hard drive?  They are not labelled differently.

Here are the specifications and configurable options for your desktop HP Pavilion d4890y. If ordered them in the same way, then no descendants using a set of HP recovery disk. If they were ordered with different configurations, there may be issues when you use the wrong set of HP Recovery Disc. You can compare the recovery discs to see if they are same... simply display the disks in your computer and compare this file counts and space used on each drive.

    Please send Bravo

  • T420 restore disks

Had a computer with a hard drive dead, where the only way I could create some restore disks was in safe mode and running the EXE file directly from the drive Q. He created the startup disk and diskettes 3.

I put in a new hard drive and when I try to launch the boot drive, it launches the Windows recovery environment and does not give me the ability to run Startup Repair on a Windows installation (which is not found on the new hard drive, or of the course) or restore a backup. If I chose to restore a backup, he found nothing.

I thought that booting from the boot floppy took me through a process similar to the one where you launch ThinkVantage when booting from the hard drive OEM. What Miss me?

Use the bootdisk, I created other the T420 and media disks, I created from the T420 failed. Restored by default.

I have a laptop Compaq Presario CQ50-139wm.  The hard drive has been damaged without repair possible and I put a new hard drive in it, but I have system restore disks.  They are no longer available for purchase.  Anyone know where I can get a set?  The original operating system is Windows Vista.

    Hello:

I don't see that HP has them.

It would link to the recovery media to order on the Vista 32 bit laptop driver page.

But can call HP and ask first. Maybe you can order them by phone and they would cost less ordering them to surgeons in the computer.

If HP does no more, you can still get this provider on the link below.
