New installation of 10 hard disk problem

I'm trying to install 10 components (special edition from Costco) disks (3 total).   New Adobe install WIN 7 Ultimate, Service Pack 1, any previous edition of the elements.   First disk loads very well... up to the end.   I get a small box that says complete, insert disc number 2.   Only problem is there seems to be some kind of script is running in the background box, as if it of installing from disc 1 and no way I can eject a disc, without leaving the entire installation.   He then don't pick up where left off if I load disc 2.  If I reload the disc 1, goes into an uninstall and install all over again, only to get stuck again at the end.  This exercise I did several times with the same result.

Question: what Miss me here?  I have a bad installation disc?   I hate Exchange it at Costco if there is an easy solution. Thank you.

Jack

Jeff,

Think I have this figured out, but only by trial and error.  No, I can't provide a screenshot. Kind of a mute issue now anyway!    All the time I was going to make a screenshot, I noticed on the next attempt to install a box of precheck (default) for first Trail and decided to uncheck and see what happens.  What happened is... bingo, disc 1, and then installed PE10 "full" and I do not have the dialoge application disc 2 in the end box.   Hmmm... could this all what it is, a single disc need after all?    Just out of curiosity, I loaded the disk 2 and there is nothing more than an installation of Adobe Premiere elements 10 trial disc.   3 charges of disc and it's nothing more than a disc of resourse with all kinds of garbage on this subject.

So it seems the hook lies, that stupid checked box creation by default at the beginning of the installation disc 1 and 10 PE is really only on the first disc.   Of course, wish that there is some kind of review with the packaging indicating this.  For a novice like me, it appeared that all three disks should be installed.  It issues more confused, it's that all three disks are labeled "Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.  No mention of first or what else could be the disk 2 or 3... Urgh.

In any case, assuming that what I found is correct, that I can now get along this learning program.   Thanks for your help.

Jack

    Hi watthhel,

I think the error message must be correct to Windows 7 and you must do what tells you the message: immediately back up your data and replace the HARD drive with a new one. In your case I would never save important files on the HARD drive. Too risky to lose important files

Your laptop is 4 months old and that would mean it s covered by the warranty. Contact your local authorized service provider and ask for a replacement drive. They will exchange it and the service is free. :)

    Hello tassie steve,.

You should replace the disk, and then clone on all content, including the MBR (master boot record) to the new drive. What brand you buy, you'll be able to download this free utility software from their site. Do it now, while you can always transfer your data! Hope this helps you. Make it a great day!

    Hello

    I was doing some courses on my computer until this window came on my screen and playback;
"Windows detected a hard disk problem. I immediately went and checked in the properties to see the current status of the disk, and it says "this device is working properly" I am confused and decided to restart my computer. Again, read the error message and it says that the disc was allowed in properties. Every 15 minutes or so, the same error message. I'm running on Windows Vista Edition Home Premium and have had the computer since 2008. Is this a virus? Or - is this just the computer falsely detect a problem?
    Can anyone help please?

    Thank you very much

What you see in the drive properties in Device Manager has to do with drivers and the drive configuration, not the real state 'physical' the reader.

First of all, I error side of caution and if sure you have a backup of all your personal files, data, music, photos, contacts, movies, etc., external media (favorite external hard drive).

Run the check disk (chkdsk); I suggest to run with two checked options, difficulty of file system errors and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

A message box appears every 10 minutes saying "Windows detected a hard disk problem" disk name VOLUME: WDC WD3200BEVT - 602CTI ATA DEVICE: C:\;D:\        If I click on backup now (that I tried to do it on the hard drive Seagate and CD... and it gets to about 35 to 50% then fails)... it goes to the BSOD... Yesterday, I bought a Driver Update. and this morning I ALWAYS get the message "Windows has detected a hard disk problem '...» I'm not very savvy computer... I researched this days... I gave up... Help, please! ....

    The disc is a failure.

Copy what you can from it to your backup device. You may need several attempts to make the copy.

Don't try to backup the drive: is not remaining usable for long enough for a full backup complete.

Then replace the disk and reinstall Windows and your applications and data, and retrieve your information from the user of the copied data.

  • Windows detected a hard disk problem after factory reset?

I have a Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5320, not old at all. I tried to download a game and then got the BSOD. I had to reset my PC, lost what I had, but ended up from scratch. Now, every so often, I get a message saying "Windows detected a hard disk problem. Back up your files immediately to prevent the loss of information... ». I have right click the disk hard "defective" for the error checking, no errors found. I tried HD Tune Pro, and tells me 'Warning' for the State of health (05) reallocated sector count (failure) is red, and number of events (C4) reallocated (warning) is yellow. Does this mean I have to replace the hard drive? The computer was working completely fine until BSOD. Now it works and everything but I get this error message. The laptop is not only really old and never any injuries, but perhaps past warranty. I really have nothing left to save, because I lost everything when I have to reset it to factory State. Any advice?

It's really up to you.  Sometimes there may be false positives, but it looks like your drive is really having some problems.  It was even the cause of the BSOD, who knows.

You can follow the steps of my colleague here to check your drive for errors:
    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/6221-chkdsk-check-drive-errors-Windows-8-a.html

But really, I would take the advice and replace the drive.  Or at least be prepared for this 'die', then save your files somewhere else like OneDrive or something so you don't lose important information when it does.

  • Serious teething problems (problems of ubuntu-windows, hard disk problems boot loader)

I have a laptop ASUS K50IN with recovery partition windows preinstalled on the hard disk (Windows 7, Home Premium edition, 64 - bit).

I formatted the entire hard drive with Lubuntu installation dvd, I used Lubuntu, for a few weeks with success.
(I used a removable drive for installation.)
After that, I wanted to do a dual-boot system (windows-ubuntu).
I deleted the windows install Summary Lubuntu with recovery partition, so I downloaded a version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit and burned to dvd (I have my product key from the back of the machine). Downloaded from: msft.digitalrivercontent.net.
I deleted the partitions lubuntu until windows install with windows dvd, made a partition for windows (with the 100 MB system reserved required),
and began the installation process which took place successfully, but it failed to restart after the installation. As much as I remember came problems.
I had a few bad boots, but I managed to run the new windows 7, made some configurations, programs installed on it. I always have problems with reboots. (It was stable when I have manged to get into windows itself.)
I searched the net and found that ubuntu uses grab as boot loader, and it isn't getting deleted with the simple formatting even with a windows installation.
I tried to repair the boot loader of windows to the Master Boot Record by running the command from the windows installation disk prompt (many tries to start).
    I tried these commands unsuccessfully:
    /fixmbr Bootrec.exe,
    /FixBoot Bootrec.exe,
    /RebuildBcd Bootrec.exe,

(by the way these commands responded succession of repair)

    Bootsect/nt60 SYS/MBR,
list not found no operating system compatible hits.

(Auto repair could not fix problem.)

Then I used DBAN to completely wipe my drive.
I used the values in interactive mode (PRNG:mersenne twister, method: DoD short, collar to check: last).
Ran for 9 hours, crushed 3 times, has completed successfully without errors.
I read that it removes the MBR sector too.
I tried to start the windows installation disc, and it shut my computer when it arrives at the end of the second bar with "WINDOWS IS LOADING of FILES.
Same problem with the installation of ubuntu dvd.

Same problem with the DBAN disk.

Same problem when booting from the hard drive.

Keeps turning itself off in unpredictable ways. Sometimes, I managed to get in installation disc menus, then comes the turn off.

Above all it stops early in the boot process.

I tried the Dell drivers to update, but it still does not work.
I have a driver disc and the utilities provided with the laptop.
Don't know if I can find the solution on disk

    Thanks for any help.

Hello. The list in Device Manager 2 computers if they are different, it is because your supplier (manufacturer) has drivers installed, but doesn't your husband - he uses native Windows (by default) drivers. To install drivers sellers use the disc that came with the laptop, or go to the Inspiron 17R 7110 html page to see links to all the drivers for Dell provided for this model. I mean all for different versions of Windows which takes in charge of Dell on this model, and the various versions of pilot, later and older.

Because you were watching from a blank hard disk, you must install these drivers in this order.

1 Dell System Software - find on the page html under the category: System utilities. It is available only if the laptop is running Win 7 32-bit or 64-bit.

2 Intel HM67 Chipset drivers, under the category: Chipset. Available for Vista, 7, or 8.

3 of card reader Realtek driver, under the category: Chipset. Available for Vista, 7, or 8.

    4. audio Realtek driver, under the category: Audio. After his laptop computer installation of your husband will show Realtek High Definition Audio Device in Device Manager.

5 Intel 3000 or Graphics 2000/3000 under the category: video. After his laptop computer installation of your husband will show Intel display Audio in Device Manager. Intel display Audio's HDMI audio driver when you connect to a TV with an hdmi cable.

    6. some laptops have a second graphic device that takes over from the Intel graphics card during graphics intensive games like situations. If computer laptop your husband has this feature, then get the driver nVidia too.

Most of the other devices will agree with it Windows native drivers for now, and you can install them later in an order any if you need.

    retiredluckycat
When I plug in headphones or external speakers, the sound continues to fate of the speakers of the laptop.

I don't know if installing drivers will fix this or not. The headset should work fine now with just the native Windows driver. Install the drivers and see what happens. If you need more information, mention the operating system and possibly the model of your laptop and its operating system.

I need help on what would be the best approach to move my existing ESXi 5.5 install the HARD disk to the new USB.

Then you tell your environment uses the local disk to your VM data store (s)? In addition, you want to move your partition ESXi to USB and recover the local disk space? I think if it was me, the the more safe thing to do would be to shut down the system, pull on the local drive on just enough to disable / he dethrone, insert the USB key and run ESXi installation. Then (after checking the boot order) reinstall the local disk and boot the system.
