  You do not have a supported hard drive controller. The controller does not hardware raid and requires software drivers to work. ESX (i) does not support these types of controllers. You can try searching through http://vm-help.com to see if there is that custom files that can help you get up and running.

  First chech that the BIOS is configured to use the CD/DVD drive as frist boot device.

  Then remove the old drive and only connect the new drive.

  Start the PC and insert the CD that you created and boot from the CD.  If there is a "Long full" test, which is that you need to perform. Also check the SMART data (look for bad sectors).

  I have a portable Satellite A135-S4467 with a hard drive failed (WD 160 GB).
  I bought a new hard drive (WD 320 GB).
  When I try to install windows vista (32 bit) on the new hard drive by using the original factory software installation CD toshiba, I get the following error message:
  "windows cannot be configured to run on this computer hardware.

  After reboot, Windows will start normally or in safe mode.
  I updated the BIOS to version 1.9.
  I tried also to install the updated RAID/AHCI drivers of intel to the windows installation, as recommended by the windows forums - I always get the same error message, even after several attempts to completely reinstall windows.

  Several forums, I searched for recommended to change the settings of the HDD (RAID COSM) in the BIOS.
  I don't know how / if to do this. When I enter the BIOS, I see the hard drive, but I can't select it, so I couldn't try it.

  It seems that I've tried everything, without success. I took care to unplug all external/etc devices during the installation as well. I also did all the drivers are for vista 32 bit.

  Have you tried to install the OS using the Microsoft installation disc?
  There may be a compatibility problem with your new HARD drive.

  Do you get a place another HARD disk capacity not more than 200GB and test it?

  I did research on this and most of the people had permission issues. I have check the whole journal and haven't seen the permission issues. What I noticed is when I go into the directory, there is no file, which seems to be the problem. I do not know what creates who or what could be stopping the file being created. Could someone tell me please in the right direction.

  In a session of separate login as root and rename/usr/bin/unzip (version 6) a temporary file name and then rename it back once the installation is complete.

  Please try the installation program offline posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows page in the section "problems".  There are 3 different files for different browsers.  You'll want to download versions of the browsers you use.
