New router BEFSR41 problems installing...

I just installed a new version of my BEFSR41.  I had a version 2 and now have a version 4.3.  I have Road Runner internet and had no problem, just pick up my old router and hang a new.  A restart of the modem and I was able to connect to internet and my other 2 computers in the House.  However, I can't access the 192.168.1.1 configuration it won't let me past the password screen.  I tried the default "admin" with no luck.  A reset of the modem will fix this problem without screw it my internet connection and network...

Also I had installed LELA and when I installed the new router it showed it as a gateway instead of the BEFSR41 router as he showed before.  I reinstalled but still the same bridge description. I uninstalled the program.

TIA

Your router must have a username is blank and the password "admin" (without the quotes).

If this does not work, then the most likely cause for your problem is a problem of computer software firewall.  Go into your computer and temporarily disable your software firewall and see if that allows you to connect to your router.  With some computer software firewall, you will need to "trust" your router at 192.168.1.1

If you still have problems, read on:

Here are my tips for to connect you to your router:

You need not be connected to the Internet to view the router's web pages.  These web pages are built into the router.
Use Internet Explorer, it usually works.
JavaScript must be enabled.
Use a computer that is connected to the router.
In the non-working computer, temporarily disable your firewall software.

If you use Zone Alarm, do a right-click on the ZA icon in the taskbar (bottom right of screen) then click on "Shutdown ZoneAlarm" and see if that solves your problem. If this does not work, try the following with Zone Alarm: open the control center ZAISS, go to privacy, then temporarily disable Ad Blocking and Cookie Control and see if it solves your problem.

If you use Noton Internet Security with the add-on Pack, don't forget to disable the blocker and ad blocker. Some users have reported that they needed to uninstall all Norton Add-on Pack.

If you can not get anything to 192.168.1.1 then perhaps this is not the address of the router. Go to 'Start' > all programs > Accessories > command prompt.
A black DOS window will appear. Type "ipconfig" (with no quotes), and press the Enter key. Look at the "default gateway". It is 192.168.1.1? Point your browser to the 'default gateway', can connect you to your router.

If the above fails, unplug your modem router, then try again. If it solves your problem, then most likely your modem is actually a "modem-router". Check if your "modem" is using the same address as your Linksys router 192.168.1.x space. If this is the case, then the report with this problem and specify also the brand and exact model of your modem number.

If all above fails them, turn off your entire system, unplug it from the wall, wait a minute, then lights up, then try again.

If all the above tips fail, then reset the default router: power down the router and unplug all the wires. Wait a minute. Switch on the router, let it fully boot (1-2 minutes), then press and hold the reset for 30 seconds button, then release the button and allow the router to reset and restart (2-3 minutes). Turn off the router. Wait a minute. To connect to a computer, cable, a router's LAN port. Initialize the system. It should work.  Reset the default router will also reset your default Internet connection type.

If the reset does not fix your system, then you must download and install (or reinstall) the latest firmware for your router. After the update of the firmware, you must reset the default router, and then configure the router again from scratch. If you have saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.

Recently received new router from Verizon (FIOS), model FQG1100 BHR4 router

    Purchase printer in 2012.

Printer has worked with the old router; It will not communicate with the new router.

For four days I deleted the printer from the laptop several times and tried to reinstall using the wifi. Installation instructions say to run the CD, select wifi, connect the USB cable when prompted, configure, remove the cable when prompted.

When I attach the USB cable, Setup starts, but it expires ("taking too long") or fails with the vague message about not finding the product. I'm never invited to an SSID.

I tried a USB installation and it worked; If the USB cable is good.

Share print files & Windows is activated.

I tried to re - adjust the printer by default and insured menu wifi said 'ON' for the wifi.

I run a wireless network test report:

SWITCH for wireless, wireless and security.

Failure of network name (SSID found).

DO NOT RUN for: printer settings consistent with the settings of the wireless router, no filtering, connected, the signal strength, other networks detected.

    Wireless netwrorks detected: 9

I note the router label does not say "SSID", but said "ESSID".

I have ideas for what to try.

Please post here or send message to [personal information deleted]

Last night I finally got to work.  I removed the printer entirely from the PC and rebooted. I turned off the printer. I ran a cable to the router (cable modem). I have reset the router, which then assigned an IP address to the printer. I changed the security settings on the router to use WEP instead of WPA. I ran the HP printer, Setup - and he finally presented me with the screen to "provide the SSID.  The program is run properly. I printed a test page. I changed the router security to WPA2. I printed a test page.     I tried to restart it and reprinted.  I also tried to remove the cable and then print again - printing failed.

In short, I needed to do two things: connect a cable and change the router temporarily WEP for installation.

In my case, my printer is close enough to the router with the cable.  A bit disappointing that the true wireless will not work, but I can print wireless from my laptop.

I saw how many people have had the same problem, I had, and how much of HP is of any help to solve this problem.  I am convinced that the printer has a defect.  I hope that my posts will be useful to a few people having the same problem.

To help you to propose measures to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following question:

    1. what version of Windows operating system is installed on the computer?

    2 successful wireless connection configuration?

    3. do you receive an error message or error code when trying to print?

In the meantime, I suggest to add the device on the network and check if that does the trick. To do this, follow these items:

  • I just installed a new router and now my desktop running Windows XP computer does not connect to the internet.

    Hello

I just installed a new router and now my desktop running xp computer does not connect to the internet. I know that it is not the router because I plugged the cable into my laptop running 7 and it works fine. When I try to dhcp I get 169..., when I put manually the IP just get no access to the internet and can not ping to the router address. I tried to run the net work Assistant, emptied my dns, disabled all firewals, still nothing.
    Any suggestions?
    original title: connectivity Limeted

The zero configuration utility works very well. But it is a desktop computer and on cable. All other wired and wireless PC in the office is working well, then it's definitely this PC. He came out of nowhere, I install a network printer on the PC but that's all.

Your messages are a bit terse, but if I understand correctly

    • You have a router connected to the Internet and multiple computers connected to the router, some Ethernet cable and others by wireless.
    • All but one of these computers can reach successfully from the Internet via the router.
    • A computer that can't browse the Internet is connected to the router via an Ethernet cable.
    • You disconnected the cable between the router and the desktop problem and connected it to a Windows 7 laptop and the laptop connected to the Internet via the router.
    • You haven't seen any error message (except, perhaps, a message on "Limited or no connectivity").
    • You have installed Windows XP Service Pack 3 (or at least Service Pack 2)

Assuming that all the foregoing is an accurate summary of the situation, I suggest that you do the following:

Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
Type the following lines and press ENTER after each line

    Netsh reset winsock catalog
    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Close the command prompt window and restart the computer.

  • Could get a new router block printing? We had a lot of problems with the computer in the last week and a half. Bought new router and now the printer does not print. :-(

    (1) we went to DirecTV. Then the same day, our internet computer is down. I asked our current provider, Suddenlink, to let them know we had them to another - but we wanted to keep for the internet.

    (2) called DirecTV to investigate why our internet went down at the same time they installed? They said that they did nothing to cause that. We waited 5 days to make out and also install the third TV that was promised. The second tech gave things a lookover and said, once again, that there is nothing unusual during their passage to cause the problem.

    (3) called Suddenlink. They said it was the router. Called the people of Netgear. They said that the router was too old. We needed to pay an exorbitant sum for support and when I told him I'd rather just buy a new router and get free technical support for 90 days... and I personally do not have the credit cards in that time. (it's my mother s equip and I wonder it for the computer) when the guy told me that he could help and hung up on us, even though I was pleading for him to wait until I put my mother on the phone. (I'm in my 40s... not a kid).

    (4) Suddenlink called a few days later, when we got a new router (netgear brand NO!) Installed and I noticed that the 'ready' light was not 'on' on the modem. Their technology has said that he would check and call us in a few minutes. He did not.

    (5) the next day I called Suddenlink AGAIN. This time, I got a really nice customer service agent. She said she would send someone to check on it. It turns out that they had disconnected when I had called to pass only the TV.

    (6) in any case, we are finally online... only now... I can't the printer to work. :-(  This has worked before.  Could it be caused by the different router? I don't know about these things. I didn't even know what it was until someone at Radio Shack has explained to me. (I was not about to buy one at Wal-Mart - these poor people). The printer is a Canon Pixma MX340. We love him. The only thing is that it is difficult to clear the tasks or to reset. The only way to really do that is to simply pull the plug, unfortunately and restart the computer. But hey, it's a great printer, better than HP.

We are under vista. The router is a Linksys wifi (which we have) N300 model E900.

Of course I appreciate any help you can give. God bless you!

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

Just got a new Netgear N300 wireless router.   We have two Imac an Acer netbook, and the daughter has a Dell PC with Vista.  His computer will not hook up with the new router.   Other computers have made this automatic.  She won't.  Any suggestions?

I used XP for years and know how it works, but don't know about Vista.

    Maybe this can help

Most laptops have a physical switch for the wireless card. Read the manual of the computer and make sure that the wireless adapter is on.

Check the Device Manager for the wireless card valid entry.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

Check network connections to make sure that you have a network icon/entry wireless connection, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_connection_tcp.jpg

Make sure that if there is Wireless Utility a utility vendor is not running with the native Windows wireless utility.

Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.

Above everything is OK and it connects to the wireless router. Log in from any computer which is, or can be connected to the router with a wire wireless, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless streaming is enabled and try to connect with no. wireless security.

When the work turns on the Wireless security.

Note * people sometimes make mistakes in writing and retype the password for security.

Another way is to copy in the menu of the router and then paste it when asked of the wireless card.

    --------------------------------------------------

I really checked and configured every thing and it doesn't work.

Software firewall application that is not configured to allow local traffic (between the computer and the router is also a possible problem.
some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

I just changed the wireless router that has created a problem with printing. I don't know what I have to do to change the printer settings to accommodate the new wireless router. @jerrymcampbell, sorry you had a problem given that you got a new router.

You will just need to reconnect the printer to the network again.

What kind of printer you have?

Function of the printer, you can access the network settings on the printer, choose the Setup wireless and connect to the new network wizard.

After that, go to the computer and to update the IP address.

    1. click on Start Menu

    2. Select all programs

    3 select the HP folder

    4. click on the name of the printer

  • Time Capsule missing after installing new router

I recently installed a new wifi router for my home network. Previously, I used only my time capsule to back up data and intend to continue to use it for backups. However, with my new router, I can't find how to access the time capsule to keep backups. I have time capsule directly connected to the router via ethernet and it will still not appear in AirPort Utility or enable Time Machine to find.

    Any suggestions?

    Everything has changed.

With a new router, you have a 'new' network... and the time Capsule is to remember the parameters which it was equipped to work in your 'old' network The time Capsule is lost and he can't find his way.

Reset to return to the default settings Time Capsule

    Connect it to the router

original title: new installation of router

When you install a new router you let your internet provider know before disconnecting the old man a moment I left the old one hanging don't know what to do

What do you use to connect to your ISP, cable modem, DSL, modem?

If you use a cable modem that is separate from the router, then all you should have to do is connect the router to the cable modem, then connect your PC to the router, either UTP or wireless. Your PC should then take a new IP address of the router, and you'll be good to go :-)
