Windows 7 Setup

I have HP Pavilion g series laptop with windows7 genuine. But I do not have cd to install windows. If I format my machine in the future, how am I supposed to reinstall windows?

Hello

1. your machine must have a recovery partition if you are using the original hard drive and have not deleted the partition recovery somehow. In the future, every time, make sure all your backup files before you restore the computer to factory State.

To set your PC/laptop to factory State, restart the PC/laptop. HP welcome screen, press the F11 key to start the recovery process.

Follow the instructions on the screen.

2 Alternatively, you can create a game for you now. Please follow this link (there are links for Vista & XP)

3 worst case, you can order a set of HP using a link on the link above.

Product key bad for the wrong version?

    Hello

Recently the computer in business inherited from a friend, very fast and very good. Regardless of the operating system no - geniue, is with Vista Business, while the thumbnail of authentication is Vista Ultimate. I took a screenshot of what it says when I put Vista Ultimate product key: (it does not appear if you are unable to use it: P)

He said: "the product key you entered will not work with this edition of Windows Vista. You must run the Windows Vista Setup program or enter a Windows Vista Business product key."

How would the installation of Windows Vista? My files would still be there when you need him? My drivers would still exist? No matter what to get deleted or become unusable? He would return to SP1? Any response is welcome.

You can order form of the manufacturer's recovery media.

The reason why the system as non-authentique shows currently is using a license in Volume KMS - these licenses must be re-activated at least every 6 months by connecting to the KMS user license activation server.

It will require a reformat and reinstall whatever you do, unless you can connect to the KMS - Volume media server cannot be upgraded under normal conditions.

    Hello

You can use this Recovery Partition to reinstall Vista to his new condition with the right edition of Vista.

This recovery partition was photographed on your hard drive by HP during the manufacturing of the factory.

You press F11 on startup to start the process of recovering back to factory settings.

Here is the information about HP.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=c00809678&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&product=18703

If the recovery partition is damaged, you can buy HP's Vista recovery discs for a small fee.

If HP's Vista recovery disks, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Install Windows 8 Pro upgrade, Windows 7, the two 64-bit, yesterday. Installation went well and everything seems to work. I had to reboot tonight and got the message "Installing Update 2 of 11, (etc.) do not disconnect or turn off your computer. Do not touch anything during the time that he finished all updates 11. Restarts and then delivers the message: 'Windows update Setup failed. Restoration of the changes. Go to Windows Update in Control Panel and it indicates what it y 11 important available updates, which wouldn't be fair because they do not have. Then, I simply restarted... nothing more. Received the message "" Installing Update 2 of 11... "." as before, restarts and then get the message: 'Windows update Setup failed. Restoration of the changes. • Windows XP Setup hangs at «Setup starts Windows...» "after all the required drivers on the CD loading.

My Pentium III 1.0 GHz computer (394 MB of RAM, disk hard 500 GB) crapped out on me after that I loaded soft PicturePerfect of Nikon.  For some reason, the Nikon software ruined my registry.  Now, whenever I turn on my PC, I get the BSOD with error "Unpaginated IPF in space".   I can't start my computer in safe mode or "start Windows normally" as I get the same error msg almost immediately without seeing the Windows logo and progress bar.  I can start my PC using the "last good known Configuration" and he will be starting the Microsoft Windows logo with the progress small downstairs bar, so I know that the hard drive is fine.  Then the screen goes black while WinXP is loading from the hard drive, and then the BSOD with error page comes up.  I suspect that there is incorrect data in a critical area of the drive where Windows requires data start correctly.   In the meantime, I can't boot into Windows at all because all Windows options lead to BSOD with the msg of error page.

I resigned myself to reloading Windows XP from scratch, but I can't seem to get my original installation CD to not work.  I've reconfigured my BIOS to Boot CD, and then start the original Windows XP CD.  He reads and load it all very well, and then it hangs at «Setup starts Windows...» "I thought he had to test the equipment, but it remained in this State for 3 hours!  The "Welcome to Windows Setup" screen never came.

I thought to use FDISK to the new drive of 500 GB and formatting on the errors on the hard drive, but I can't do since I can't complete the installation process.  I feel stuck in a bad situation where I can't enter BACK to FDISK and FORMAT my C: drive.

    Pls help!

    Thank you!

Here's what I did and learned:

    1. I replaced my DVD burner with my CD - R original delivered with the machine and disconnected the 2nd CD - R.

    2. I disconnected my 2nd hard drive, in part to minimize the current of the power supply, but also to keep clean and simple start between a (hard) C: and D: (CD - R) drives.

    3. I re-tested my SDRAM using test mode full and deep.  To my surprise, I found not 1 but 2 SDRAM bad!  I replaced the original SDRAM 128 MB and re-directed tests of memory with the Diagnostocs memory of Windows and Memtest86 +.  All the 512 MB of RAM is perfect now.

    4. I started to new WinXP and have the msg «Setup starts Windows...» ».  This time, I waited for about 15 minutes and to my surprise the configuration screen came!  There is a long period of time between the msg «Setup starts Windows...» "at the start, and when the configuration menu actually comes to the screen.  I was able to partition and format my hard drive.

    Lessons learned:
-Maintain the number of devices to a minimum so that it keeps unknown hardware failures to confuse the troubleshooting questions.
-Test the RAM in deep test mode is important and test several times.
-It could be more than 1 Bank of RAM can be bad so carefully test RAM.
-Wait for the next Windows installation menu.  It is not instantaneous, but it will come sooner or later.

    Thank you!!!

    Hello

Create a bootable USB drive or DVD from the .iso in Windows 8:

    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2227-create-bootable-USB-DVD-Windows-8-release-preview-ISO.html

Then start under it and install.

If you do not format anything during installation, all your old files will be placed in folder C:\Windows.old.

You can then copy what you want to keep, get out of here.

After that, you can use the disk cleanup utility to remove this folder if you check the box to do this.

    Enjoy.

    Hello

You try to install windows Xp on a sata drive? You will first need to set up the BIOS of your computer. Start your computer to enter the BIOS (normally its del on the keyboard button, can be, F1, F2 or F10 depending on you are computer) read what he said while you download the logo of manufacturing or consult the manual of your equipment.

Now in the BIOS somewhere under player opearation or Sata Operation you select traditional mode or in compatibility mode.

Now try to install windows XP.

You can also try to consult: http://www.ehow.com/how_4966482_install-xp-sata-hard-drive.html

  • E7240/E7440 - Intel Management Engine drivers Hangs Windows 7 Setup

    Hi all

Wonder if anyone else has problems with installing Windows crashing with the Intel management engine Drivers injected directly into the WIM image?

The error message that appears when the installation says "Windows cannot configure one or more system components. To install Windows, restart the computer and restart the installation. Once restarted, it will shut with the message "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error." Windows Setup cannot continue. To install Windows click OK to restart the computer and then restart the installation"I have check the logs in X:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\, but can't find anything useful (or understand).

Can I get the installation to complete, excluding the drivers of the EMI, but this leaves the device with no driver in the Device Manager. The same drivers can be installed manually with any questions after that Windows has finished installing.

The review of pilot for the latitudes of 7 series I use is A00 published 06/09/2013.

Some Windows 7 drivers for new Dell systems may require an update of the KMDF to version 1.11.  The KMDF is a component of the operating system and the software update is available from Microsoft at the link below.  The usual treatment is to include the KMDF update in your base image until it is wrapped in a service pack.  Some of you may remember to see this problem with XP/Vista when Win7 came on the scene.

Symptoms that a KMDF update is necessary for a Windows 7 driver:
