New Treo Pro

Hi - I currently have a Treo 700w with Verizon Wireless service.  This new phone is compatible with Verizon? I do not know this "unlocked" and means "GSM".

Thank you ~ Golda

No, except if Verizon decides to rip off their entire network and rebuild it entirely in GSM!

It's like trying to capture an FM an AM radio... Cannot be done.

Palm could come out with a CDMA version of the Pro, but they provide no information of "plans for the future."

  • Cannot sync my new Palm Treo Pro-

I have a HP Windows XP Media Center that doesn't have Microsoft Word or Outlook to this topic.  It has Outlook Express 6.0 put there by Verizon.  My new Treo Pro do not synchronize and says that Outlook is not on the computer.  I never wanted to use Outlook in any case, I want to use the Palm Desktop which has worked flawlessly until I upgraded to, but my Palm Desktop, who worked with my last phone (Palm - Centro) does more work after I upgraded to 6.2.  Now, he is sitting there on the screen but does not synchronize when I connect the USB to the computer.  I lost all my contacts Centro and had to return on the new Treo Pro.  I can't my contacts, music, etc. on the computer but that is where I want to that they for backup.  P.S. I also upgraded my windows media for v.11 hoping that would help.  Appreciate any help I can get.

The treo pro is a windows mobile device and will not sync with Palm Desktop requires Microsoft Outlook.

I recently bought the new Treo Pro.
I currently have Treo 650 and 680 and I tried to finish the categories of contacts by Bluetooth & IR, both failed.
No idea how to do it correctly?

    Hello..

sending data via infrared or Bluetooth to a Palm OS phone for a WinMo phone is not possible
they deal with different types of files during transfer

You must synchronize first phone treo 650 and 680 for microsoft outlook and Outlook to your TreoPro
WinMo phones will sync with outlook

  • Switch from Treo 650, Treo Pro

I synchronize my old Treo 650 on 2 computers (xp & Vista) using HotSync. I would like to switch to Outlook with my new Treo Pro. How can I get all my 650 data HotSync for Outlook (and 650 for the Pro)? I don't want to lose all data.

The general process is that you reconfigure HotSync to synchronize your 650 with Outlook rather than Palm Desktop. Once Outlook has all your data, you install ActiveSync and synchronize your Treo Pro with Outlook to complete the data transfer process.

Details can be found from here:http://www.palm.com/us/support/outlooksupport.html

And you can also get support in the Windows HotSync here forum: http://forums.palm.com/palm/board?board.id=windows_hotsync

  • Treo Pro, battery replacement P/N

I have a unlocked Treo Pro and the part on my existing number is 35H 00114 - 00 m and I need to know if the battery with part number 3443ww will work in my phone.  I use my phone a lot during the day and usually have to recharge it at least once in the middle of the day and sometimes twice.  I thought a 2nd battery would be a good solution but could not find a new OEM with the same part number as the one I have.  Thanks for the help.

No, certainly not. If you look at the product picture, you can see that the contacts are on the side rather than on the end.

You may need to shop at other stores. For example: http://store.treocentral.com/treo-pro-batteries.htm

(I bought a Lenmar replacement battery on Buy.com;) Search your favorite search engine of the site for Lenmar PDAPTPRO find one.)

  • Treo Pro

I have a treo pro. The Navigation button would not light up when I receive a call or a voice mail? Also, my phone keeps connect on board... When I click to see what programs are activated there aren't everything. Help!

The central button will light only when you have a new voicemail, no missed calls or anything else besides. Also, light is a light that shines with a grey-white, so it is sometimes difficult to see in a clear box, if you move the device to obscurity and you receive a phone call and it goes to voicemail, check to see if it lights always upward. Also note that the middle button turns on only if this type of notification of voicemail can be managed by your operator.

Who is your carrier is ATT? The device will go in and out of the range of cellular and will sometimes require the device to reconnect to the towers including the data plan. But the frequency with which it connects?

It doesn't seem like every hour on the hour or every thirty minutes, or is completely random?

Just getting worse is you can try to reset the unit hard and see where that puts the unit and see if all fuctions as usual

Instructions for making resets on the Treo Pro are the solution http://kb.palm.com 40435 ID

  • Bluetooth and Treo Pro

I have problems reported with the Treo Pro and Bluetooth. Specifically calls fail on call waiting and the silent ringer switch does not always work when Bluetooth is engaged. I also noticed that the list of compatible devices Palm usually includes older models and even the new Palm Bluetooth does NOT support managing multiple calls. This seems to be a problem in the firmware of the PRO. Palm gave an estimate of when the firmware will be updated? Please explain why the Palm Bluetooth in incompatible with multiple calls. '

    Thank you.

I'm not aware of any fix for this type of problem. Usually, I learned a few days before an update is released. Keep looking on the support page for the Pro for updates regularly.

  • No 'Band' tab on settings Treo Pro

    Hello

I just got a Treo Pro unlocked, bought in the USA, two days ago. Since the fourth and was then try all the settings and just make sure that everything works as it should, and all except for the fact that I can not manually turn off 3G because there is no tab 'band' on the phone settings. Instead of the tab the band, I have a PIN tab. So my phone settings look like this: Services - network PIN/PIN2 (where the tab strip should be) - ALS - Beacon - more. I looked for a tab of broadband everywhere on this phone, but it is not a.

So, yesterday I used the support chat and your representative told me to return the phone and get another. I'm not in the USA is something I would do only if all else fails. However, I was doing some research in other forums online and found out that I'm not the only one with this problem and everyone with this problem has a Treo Pro unlocked with the software T850UNA - 1.02 - NAE and firmware 1.65.29.45. So, now I'm afraid to return the phone and then get a new one with the same firmware and the same issue. I need to make a decision as soon as POSSIBLE and really need to know if an older version of the firmware can be installed or if something can be done to solve this problem, like being able to manually enable 3G and it is a MUST for me and everyone I know can do it easily on their devices. I really don't want to have to return the phone, which to me means posting to another country and everything works perfectly, but I need to have a group tab! Please help me!

Well to give you an update, I already solved the problem by installing BandSwitch. I still wish the phone has the tab 'band', but as long as BandSwitch works so it's good for me, especially considering everything there on the phone works perfectly.

  • How to transfer contacts from Treo 755 p for Treo Pro?

    Hi all

I am the new owner of a Treo Pro!  So far, so good, except for the fact that I can't understand how to transfer my contacts from my old Treo 755 p to the Pro.  Can anyone help?

    Hello

Palm OS (i.e. your treo 755) phone data transfer to a phone WINMO (treo pro)
data on a palm OS phone should be first to outlook sync
and then you can make Active Sync with your Treo pro to transfer data from outlook to your new phone

or, you can actually communicate with your carrier
so they can do it for you

  • Failed to get database connection on Treo Pro after a flight (Sprint)

I had my Treo Pro a few weeks ago and really had no problem. It was a great phone, but I just came across a problem, I can not explain.

I had to fly from Mpls to Miami and put my phone into "airplane mode" when the flight began. When I landed, I took the phone out of "airplane mode" and has managed to get the voice box and make calls. However, when I tried to get e-mail or open a browser session the phone kept giving me an error. He tried to dial #777 to start a data session (I think) and said that it is impossible to establish a connection. I removed the battery and forced the phone reboot and everything works fine.

Someone I travelled with a suggested I give him some time to 'synchronize' with the network, so on the return trip I left phone continue to try to establish a session about an hour. After an hour with no email I got frustrated and rebooted the phone... once again, everything works great. I'll need to restart the phone every time I travel? Is there something I'm missing here?

Is anyone else seeing this? Is it a question of Sprint? Help, please. Thanks in advance.

    Dan

So, I have updated the profile and the PRL on my phone. Trip to Denver and when I landed it connected immediately and I received the email. Even on my return home. As soon as I took the phone out of airplane mode I linking me and get email.

I can't explain why it worked this time and not the last. Maybe it was the updates to the phone, maybe not.

Thanks for your help. I'll post again if I get any new information.

  • How can I enter "additional numbers" for a phone number on a Treo Pro

I am a new user of Treo Pro, migration using a Treo 650 for a few years. I want to set up speed dial numbers that automatically dial some extra digits such as a PIN number for a voicemail system.  I could do on my 650 but I don't know how to do it on my Pro and see nothing in the User Guide.  Can someone tell me how to proceed?

    mrbruno wrote:
Seems reasonable, but I couldn't find where to enter additional numbers in a contact.  Can you elaborate?

I do not have the Treo Pro, but on the similar Treo 800w, add you it to the phone number when you set a new speed dial. You type a p for pause, and then the next set of numbers. Here's a completely fictitious screenshot:

Note: As far as I know, if you choose to link speed dial for a contact, you cannot change the number, so you must set it from scratch.

  • Unlocked Treo Pro on ATT: MMS msg of error: "cannot be downloaded because it exceeds the"limits of dimensions receiver"you specified.

I've looked everywhere, including ATT tech chat, help on this one.  My Treo Pro unlocked works great on everything, while receiving MMS pictures.  I've upgraded to Pro of Palm 750 (winmo 6.0), using the same SIM card, I used for my old Palm 650.  I get the incoming mms msg notification and a screen (and the soft-button) for download, but get the error message: "the message to download exceeds the 'size of reception Limitations' that you specified."  But it's not.  I spent hours to find a solution.  The only easily configurable MMS parameter is for sending limit, and it is set to the position max of 500 k.  But I also changed the registry successfully limits - corresponding to WAP2 sending and reception is limited to 512000 - but it does not help either.  Chat ATT representative said I need a new "capable UMTS SIM" but could not explain why or why the one I have now works for everything but this feature, so I'm skeptical.  Can anyone help?  Others have this problem?  Solutions?

Check out this thread for a registry hack to increase your size limit: http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/board/message?board.id=cingular&thread.id=102005

Usual to play with the registry warnings apply.

  • Palm Treo Pro and Verizon/Alltel

Looks like at this point, I'll have to upgrade to the Palm Treo Pro, because I just called Alltel and they have most any Treo

755 p owners - the Palm Treo Pro has the same schedule as the Palm Treo 755 p? In addition, what is to love in your opinion on the Treo Pro?

The Treo Pro is a Windows Mobile OS phone - as the 700wx you previously owned (although a slightly newer version of Windows Mobile).

It doesn't have the same schedule, or it will use Palm Desktop.

I have never owned one personally, if I'm afraid, I can't offer a first hand experience with it.
